We stayed in the Country Room at the Inn. A great space that makes you feel like you are on your own and away from the stress of the world! Erika is a fabulous host. She is very accommodating and always willing to help of offer suggestions. Although we did not have breakfast this trip because of our schedule, she is an amazing cook! One recommendation is to please add screens to the windows and patio. Maxwell is an escape artist and almost went out of the bathroom window. The sliding screen was not secured enough to keep him from getting out. We caught him on time.

I wouldn't say close enough to walk, especially if you are bringing chairs, coolers, food, etc. You are within minutes drive to restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, etc for all your shopping needs. Beech Tree also has a little shop that have some drinks, trinkets, clothes, decor, etc. that my fiance says is adorable, cute, etc. If you love going to the beach and want to stay at a place owned by some nice people rather than some big corporately owned motel/hotel with no personality or character, check this place out! 2nd year back and it won't be our last!…read more What a fabulous vacation retreat! Feels like a little slice of coastal heaven. The location and decor make this such a relaxing place. Easy to sit for hours in the sunroom or on the rooftop deck, take in the sun and watch the birds and boat activity on the Mystic River. It's hard to find rentals with access to a deep water dock. And this dock is perfect. My husband went out fishing on his boat nearly every day. And when he came home with flounder, we cooked up a great meal in the fully equipped gourmet kitchen. Plenty of restaurants close by if you don't feel like cooking though. Glori and Chuck are also wonderful hosts and very thoughtful and responsive. Can't say enough good things about them.

We were lucky enough to enjoy incredible late summer/early fall weather for the length of our stay. But I would gladly stay there in rainy or snowy weather. My husband and I most enjoyed the sunsets and our two boys loved the HUGE level yard. The home is located on the small Mason's Island, but less than 2 miles from adorable downtown Mystic and many other destinations/conveniences. We have already booked a return stay and are so looking forward to it.

The cottage is immaculate and furnished with everything I need to relax and unwind. the porch is my favorite spot for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.
