Would definitely be a 5 plus review if it weren't for the smoking! We couldn't even open our window because guests were constantly smoking on both sides of us.. ..one woman was smoking the entire time in the pool area while families were trying to enjoy the pool. This same woman yelled at me for "taking her parking spot". Although there are no assigned spots. She was using the F word loudly. Hopefully she doesn't take our same weekend next year! Other than the smoking- the place is great! The amenities- chairs, hammocks and lots of places in the shade to read. Outdoor deck above one of the buildings with plenty of loungers, tables and umbrellas to use. Great morning breakfast and welcoming staff. And private beach which is walkable or you can drive with the passes provided. Note to management- please do something about the smoking near rooms. Or post on your site that smoking is allowed everywhere. It's not right to not know this especially for asthmatic guests. read more

Guests were very loud and rowdy, during our July visit. Had to call the front desk at midnight due to excessive noise, but no one was avail to answer the phone. The party finally ended at 2 am. When I told the front desk the next day, they said, Oh, there is a family reunion going on. Decided to book a visit again, but for during the week, so it would be quieter. Got voicemail...when they called me back to book (2:53 pm), I had gotten busy, and gave the wrong dates. The phone call lasted 6 min, ending at 2:59 pm. As soon as I hung up, I realized my mistake and called back immediately (3 pm...1 min after hanging up) and wanted to change the date. They informed me I had to pay the $35 cancellation fee. No exceptions. Needless to say, I did not rebook. $35 to change the dates after making an error 1 min prior. Terrible customer service. read more

Just got back from our first stay at the Breezeway. Room was very clean, all Covid precautions are obviously being taken (staff cleaning outdoor furniture, etc). Very customer-focused staff. Resort is very close to the beach (about a 5 minute walk) and their pool area is also very nice. We will be back again! read more

This place was excellent! It was the attention to detail that amazed me. I also really enjoyed the history of this place. If you like clean, this place is impeccable inside and out. The service was top of the line as well. I didn't want for anything here. Also, the continental breakfast was like no other. Without eggs and bacon it still had amazing choices. A newly renovated, fresh, welcoming retreat! Had the pleasure staying there with my Dad!! -the room and bathroom were so nice and clean! And I am a Freak when it comes to hotel rooms!! Especially when I " think" it's clean then I see that one hair and I'm skeeved out till I leave!!!! Not Here! They had an adorable and charming little set up ( kind of like a quick bar ) with a microwave, small fridge, water and fresh baked cookies wrapped in precious little papers so each one was "protected" from wandering hands!! And those cookies were INDEED fresh and homemade!!! Delicious !!! I munched on two at 1:00 in the morning because of my insomnia. But this was not their fault.. the bed was lush and breezy cozy!! Also a gas fireplace for added coziness which was operated by a quick turn of the timer. Smart idea to keep everyone safe! A balcony overlooking the pool and patio with gas fire pits and a very cool sauna that was like a giant barrel! Easily fitting 3 people for a nice intimate experience. I was lucky to have met the owner when we went down for free breakfast. ( get to that soon)They kept it open for us since we were 15 minutes late and were so gracious about it. Different styles eggs and crisp bacon ( so important here! Who wants greasy fatty bacon! Not many including me) Parfait with super fresh fruit and a lovely bar/restaurant setting with all the amenities!!! This was the best "free" breakfast I've seen in a LONG time! Oh and the fresh squeezed orange & grapefruit juice was so refreshing I filled up on 3 glasses! Ok the owner- a lovely lady who was so happy to meet us and was genuine in her personality, not like others who kiss your .... Well you know! She also told us she was putting in an outdoor bar along side the pool, which she was going over with her designer/contractor at the time. So- a beautiful location, cleanliness, hospitality to its fullest and everything else I mentioned *Definitely a reason to stay!!! I have a house in Charlestown but I'll come back just because it was a relaxing change of pace and the experience was so inviting.... We ALL need to feel special RIGHT! Super cute motel resort! On 5 landscaped acres with multiple buildings. Super warm heated pool perfect for a foggy cool summer morning. Please note re: 2021: People in the area don't seem concerned about COVID and many unvaccinated people (children etc) are not wearing masks indoors in common areas like the continental breakfast pickup. read more

There is no where else to stay if you are going to Misquamicut Beach. No matter where you stay in this area, the rooms will be expensive so you might as well stay somewhere that is worth the money. Its not located directly on the beach but about 2 blocks away, which is perfect because most of the places on the beach are trashy and full of loud people. Don't worry though cuz they own a section of the beach that is roped off just for patrons of the Breezeway but I find myself hanging out at the pool because it is a lot warmer than the ocean and very peaceful. read more

A bit pricy for my taste, I did book last minute for one person at almost 500.00 for a Saturday night; if I added another for pool only it was like 35$ additional so I opted not to. The room was big and beautiful, friendly check in, free breakfast. They have a private beach, free bike rental, and convenient parking. read more

We stayed at The Breezeway for 2 nights. We really enjoyed our visit. The rooms were clean, the grounds were beautiful, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating! We especially enjoyed the free beach parking with bathroom access. We thought the continental breakfast and free bikes were great perks as well. We will definitely be back! read more

So, we've been looking for somewhere reliable and low maintenance to stay in these crazy times. A place that was separate but close to the water, a fun, enjoyable time. We stayed here many years ago, when the kids were much younger. It was in a house, that had our own front porch, that we shared with friends. They had a pool and playground for the kids, and a short walk to the beach. We spent our mornings at the beach, followed by afternoons in the pool, and dinner at the local restaurants. Sometimes we would make breakfast in our room, sometimes order in. All around, it was an amazing place to stay and relax. When we were looking for our first vacation, away from home, mid pandemic, we thought here, and I'm glad we did. It's as amazing as I remember. It's clean, well groomed, and very family friendly. Not only that, but they have a private beach with private parking, and Maria's, one of the best restaurants in the area! It's a no risk vacation, that you will love from start to finish. Come and stay, you will not be disappointed. read more

Cute resort. Supposedly they own the whole block. They have their own private beach just a short walk away. The room was your typical motel room with a tiny bathroom but it was clean and well stocked with clean towels so I'm happy. Service is good but it's our first night here so I will update if anything changes. read more

The Breezeway is a classic, New England, cozy hotel. The staff is very friendly. The free breakfast is best skipped (head to Dave's a few miles away for a great way to start your day). The location is really quite good. True, you have to walk 3/10ths of a mile to reach the beach (sidewalks available); but you can also drive to the beach and use the Breezeway's private parking lot (tends to fill up around 11 am) and private beach (never really gets as crowded as the surrounding public beaches). The walls are reasonably thin; but everything in the rooms is clean and comfortable. I really want to give the resort 3.5 stars; but it's just not quite a 4 star place. For the money, it's a good deal. We would consider returning. read more

Just spent the weekend here and was very impressed. Our room was nice, beds were comfy, and the walk down to the beach was not bad. Off season I know, but for a pretty full complex, it was really quiet. The kicker though was Grace in the office. She could not have been more helpful and pleasant, and she has this "pep in her step" that is infectious. We had a great stay at Breezeway. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Had the BEST experience in Westerly when we stayed at the Breezeway. Lady at the front desk was extremely kind, professional, and informative. Rooms were very clean and perfect size. Came up to Westerly for my birthday with my boyfriend and had the perfect day. The Breezeway offers guests their own clean, private spot on the beach along with private bathrooms right on the beach which are very well kept. Less than a ten minute walk from the resort to the beach! Beautiful pool and overall AMAZING atmosphere at the resort. They even have bikes that you can ride for FREE! This spot is a hidden gem! We plan to come back and stay at the Breezeway Resprt every time we come to Misquamicut! Fantastic experience! Thank you Breezeway Resort for a fabulous birthday!! See you soon! read more

Nice, quiet motel. Clean room, free bike rental is a nice extra. Order continental breakfast the night before via on-line form, you pick a then they text you in the morning when its ready for pick-up. Close to beach, either a 7 minute walk or drive & park in their private lot. So the bikes, continental breakfast and beach parking are all included. Overall good first stay, no issues. But price is high. For a really small room with queen bed you are paying the price of big oversized king bed room or suite at a luxury Hyatt. So that the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars. Owner was very inflexible with letting us check out late due to the Surftown Half Marathon race. We had only asked for an extra half hour to get back and shower but he was adamant that this was not allowed even though it was off season and a Sunday afternoon. There are also many rules that you must follow here or risk being humiliated by the owner/staff. We are very respectful and never would upset other guests/neighbors but while on vacation we don't like being scolded constantly so our group of four families is going elsewhere for this annual race. read more

This resort was clean and quiet and had a very good location for our needs. It has convenient parking right on the beach and it has it's own beach with it's own bathrooms that is about .5 miles from the resort. It also has it's own pool, but best of all it is a quiet location where one can just relax and rest after a long day of vacation fun! While the room was simple and clean, the overall experience at the Breezeway left a LOT to be desired. We were in room 302, which was sold to us as a "villa" - um, hardly. It was a two bedroom hotel room situated over a garage where they must have parked equipment, because our room always had a weird gasoline smell. There was a coffee maker - no coffee. No complimentary water (but you could buy it at the front desk). The "complimentary continental breakfast" had stale bagels and they ran out of coffee by 8 am. I think the worst part for us was when we went to borrow their bikes. We were a group of 4 - there were 7 bikes in varying degrees of disrepair. We selected the four least offensive ones. The seats were wobbly, the tires were flat, the wheels were shaky. Their bike pump was broken and they didn't have any tools to tighten or adjust the seats. We had to ride into town to the Hotel Maria to get some help adjusting our bikes. The least they could do would be to maintain one of the FEW amenities this "resort" offers. It was almost $500 a night for this "resort" - not worth the money. Also, the location is not convenient. read more

Over the last 5 years we have stayed there 3 times and feel this place is the best spot in Rhode Island for families. The value for what it costs is fabulous. Lovely grounds, clean pool, friendly staff all to start. With the daily rates come free continental breakfast which has plenty for filling up, and most importantly free beach parking in their own lot with their own bathroom on their own beach. We bring a few families with plenty of kids and the property is walkable to the beach. I would highly recommend this place, so check out the website which is very thorough. read more

Clean place small rooms needs new showers the vintage 1970's tubs gotta go. Pool is small but clean and warm. Breakfast is convenience store quality. Walk to the private beach is a hassle better to drive and use the lot. Once the new beachfront property opens the private beach will be overcrowded like the neighboring public beach. The $20 dollar ocean state job lot rental chairs and umbrellas are an embarrassment. Get some real beach chars. The checkout policy of 11:00 AM and not allowing the use of the facilities for the day is ridiculous. They need to adjust this - $325 or so for a night should get me some time to chill before heading home. read more

Stayed here during peak season and it was pricey but very accommodating. Staff was very friendly. We were able to check in early, the room was quaint, clean, and had a canvas bag with beach towels available for guests to use at their private beach 3/10 of a mile away, which had facilities and a lifeguard (with a clam shack next door, and larger restaurants nearby). The continental breakfast was adequate to hold you over until lunch. Beautiful landscape in a quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed our stay very much! read more

The Breezeway Resort was located in a quiet neighborhood, a little more than a block from it's own private beach (with facilities, beach chairs and a private parking lot). Beach towels and a canvas beach bag were provided. The grounds are lovely, offering a nice pool, games & barbeque grills are also offered for use. There is parking. Lite daily breakfast was offered. We enjoyed our short stay. The staff was excellent. The suite king bed room was large, very comfortable and offered a refrigerator and microwave, as well as a pullout couch if needed. It was very beach / cottage like. Only wish we had more time to spend. The resort appeared to be very family welcoming, although it also appealed to us, a baby boomer couple. We would come again as well as recommending to others. Try to eat at Maria's on the beach, owned by the resort owners; some of the best food we have ever eaten. Staff was great, food presentation and homemade pasta dishes were excellent. read more

Love this place! It is our second year in a row coming here. Well worth the money . Although not right on the beach , everything else in the area that is right on the beach is very trashy and full of loud singles. This is quiet, very well maintained and the linens on the bed are as soft and comfortable as home. read more
