After seeing some of the reviews , it made me sick , Some of the things people said , we not true .My family and friends have been going there for years ..Never a problem with Deb and Tom, or their staff .This year My husband and I both have medical problems , so we wont beable to take our vacaton there. I am heart broken. I am hoping to get down in the fall when the weather is cooler for my husband.. We have never had a bad experence at the Beach Ball or the Sea Shell..Our family and friends love it there ..With Covid hitting all the business , we were lucky to go there and be treated very nicely , even tho they didnt have help..I was thankful to get a room .. .Im not sure what people excected with their rooms , its for people that go to the beach , bringing in Sand , sea shells , food and drinks into the rooms, We have always left the room the way we found it ..except I always strip the beds and take the garbage out and put the towels outside our door..with the busy season I was glad to help them ..I got my own towels , got a broom if there was to much sand from OUR feet and swept the room.. We loved being out on the porch and watching some old cars go by , and the fire truck parade, My favorite beach is Misquamicut, and I have been to many. Cute, clean room with private bathroom, A/C and a mini fridge within walking distance of the beach.. The room I stayed in had two beds. I enjoyed the cable tv while falling asleep. This place has a great dock for fishing out back and offers free canoes and kayaks to all guests. I would definitely return to this cozy beach getaway spot. They lose a star because the hot tub is still advertised but not actually up and running. If you want roomier or dog friendly options check into their sister property The Beach Ball Inn (across the street). The staff is so friendly! You will want to come back!! read more

Seems as if the owner/manager likes to make up stuff to keep a person's security deposit ! Horrible , rude management and extremely unprofessional!! I called and got hung up on. Had the door slammed in my face when I went to the office. Then finally was told an address was needed to return the deposit... still nothing...,, Then after 5 weeks, decided that I was "smoking" in the room !! Definitely a lie on their part !! Cute, clean motel on a strip of similar small beach motels in Misquamicut, Rhode Island. It's known as the "pink place" for good reason, the whole place is painted pink! Rooms were on the cozy size, with two double beds, small tv, a mini fridge and microwave. No clocks or telephone in the room. Standing stall shower only, there is no bathtub so not ideal if you're traveling with children. The owners are very nice and helpful. No online booking, you have to call the hotel to make a reservation. It's a beach motel. The floors of the rooms are all tile because sand gets everywhere. Towels are on the thin side and soap and shampoo are not great. Bring your own. There is a big backyard behind the motel with a BBQ grill, picnic benches, a jacuzzi and a pond. This is a dog friendly hotel. They do a good job of cleaning, but you still should not come if you're allergic to dogs at all. read more

We needed a dog-friendly, budget friendly motel near the beach and we were very happy with the Sea Shell. There is a great little pond out back where you can take jet skis, paddle boats and canoes out for a ride. The motel has a dock with a paddle boat and canoe for guests to use, complete with doggie life jackets! We took our little chihuahua and pug out in the paddle boat and they had a blast. The back yard is great for grilling (grill on site), letting the dogs play and hanging out in the jacuzzi or on the bench swing. The rooms were okay, two full beds, a fridge, a flat screen TV with cable. The motel has free wi-fi but we couldn't get it to work on our computer.. The floors are tile which is very nice as they are super clean after so many beach people and dogs. The beds were pretty hard, but the linens were very clean. We could see just a little bit of the ocean from our room, but all of the rooms have a view of the pond. The people who work there are so nice and helpful. I can't wait to go back next summer. Tip: Don't forget there is keurig with coffee in the lobby. And bring your own hair dryer and extra towels. read more

we just stayed here for the 4th time and even though it wasn't a beach kinda weather we truly love this place! we stay at their sister hotel across the street at beach ball inn and it's newly renovated and perfect!! they all make you feel like family it's such a beautiful warm comfy feeling ! we love eric too he is by far thee nicest most caring man to help in any way , enjoy your stay!! can't wait to go back. and we even brought our dog and she loves it!! read more

We were put in a tiny room 3 of us and a large dog we had to pay before actually seeing room. I have Heart condition my wife has a bad knee and we were slapped in the face shocked when we saw the room. the room was warm and the tiny air conditioner barely kept up it was very hard to move around that room Two minutes after checking in we told the attendant Danny that we couldn't handle this tiny room and that we asked for a large room with a kitchen maybe there was a mistake. He answered this is all we have and that we were lucky as everything was booked in the nearby area Our hearts sank we felt duped I was extremely disappointed. We asked about some type of refund even just one days money back to go somewhere else he said no not unless it was a medical emergency whatever that meant. We tried to get used to the room but never did. We were there for the beach so we tried but the weather wasn't sunny so we spent more time in the room than we planned. There was no table to eat on when we brought back food and tried using our cooler as a table. No couch or chairs to sit on to relax we had to sit on bed and or lay our back up against the wall to watch any tv. To just hang out and no clock This would be fine if this is what we booked up for and new ahead of time. The shower stall was tiny and my elbows banged the walls as I showered and had someone else's hair on the wall. The bed also had women's hair under the blanket I say woman because it was lengthy My teenager son acquired a sore throat from the moldy ac and begged us to leave but I felt it would be giving away 500 dollars we paid for three days Danny said we could use a larger room for one day only and it would be an additional 60 dollars I said there's no way in hell im giving more money for this place. Finally couldn't take it any longer and checked out on Friday which was 195 for Friday which was a day early check out. Upon checkout my wife got to speak with the owner who was apologetic and said Danny didn't know what he was doing and at least shouldn't have said the other room was 60. It should have been 10 so Danny May have been trying to pocket 50 dollars for himself he had the personality of a stump and didn't are about our awful stay Writing words will never give you the feeling of disappointment and warm room the small aisle you had to move around in. the moldy air conditioner. I felt defeated and only stayed to try and use the money we paid we drove 4 hours from ny as we are looking for an alternative to the jersey shore to be fair the owner was more empathetic and said she would have tried to accommodate us somehow I took 3 days off work that are now expired for a horrible experience I was so glad to leave You May say there is so much more to a vacation than the room and your half right. I'm not dismissing this place to anyone else but I'm out 500 and three days work time and gas etc and won't ever go back the pictures were misleading be sure ask in detail about your room. lastly they are a pet friendly motel which is great and the owner is an animal lover She seemed nice and perhaps she would have helped us and been more accommodating I don't know but be careful with dan! We booked this place for a long weekend because they allow dogs. Big mistake. The room was not clean. Dog hair all over the sheets and comforters. It was not our dogs hair either. The sheets had stains. They made us pay in full upfront before we saw the room. The man Chris was very unfriendly. He would speak to all the other guests but not us. The other guests there seemed to be regulars. This was our first and last time staying. Very unwelcomeing staff. Our room was never cleaned and when we asked about it they handed us the sheets to change ourselves. Seriously! We felt like it was the bates motel. The bathroom was so small my son and husband could barley shower. They had to keep the shower door open! Aweful place stay somewhere else. This place ruined our vacation. I went here with a couple of my girlfriends for a girls get away and it was perfect. 1 min walk to the beach + paddys beach club, where we all bought tickets to see a show. Chris who checked us in & accommodated us all weekend is awesome! This place has a hot tub (well maintained), kayaks, picnic tables, lawn chairs, 4 person boat (no motor) all to use in the backyard. The room was shared(3 of us) & it was enough space (2 beds). The backyard view was really nice (shallow waters, perfect to dip your feet in off the dock) I love how the place was decorated too (pink outside, nice grass, water fountain, swing set, beachy white clean interior). We checked for bed bugs & the mattress was spotless. The cleaning crew was super nice too. They actually gave us a sea shell bracelet to keep when we checked in which was really cute. We enjoyed our stay and we're thinking about next year renting out the whole building, that's how great the service, location & attraction was. If you want to grab good food that's not overpriced, go to the taco truck 2 doors down from the shell. We will be back! read more

By far the worst place I've been to. The manager was asking how he can get edible Marijuana the place has bugs crawling all throughout the room. It smelled like wet dog the stove was tiny as well as the beds. The stand up shower was the best thing about it. Just all around not a good experience At All. funny thing is is the response is it from the owner at all it's actually the manager Eric that response so of course he makes himself look good in every response to everybody's review but in fact the way that they reiterate the story and how it happen for me is completely wrong and in fact he himself is the one that brought in the police to remove us . So don't take the response to lately everybody it's the manager himself that's responding and doing all of their Internet responses so you don't get a valid response from an actual owner you just get it from the middleman the guy that's responsible for the bad reviews many more to come consider it a generic interaction read more

My family and I traveled to Westerly for a surprise father's day weekend away. We came from Connecticut which wasn't too far of a drive, but far enough to feel like it was a real vacation. Travelling with my boyfriend's 6 year old son and our 2.5 year old cockapoo, Martin. Upon arrival Chris, the front desk clerk was very friendly and accommodating. He gave us a brief description of restaurants around the Motel and while he admitted he was somewhat new to the area, he was knowledgeable with what vacationers were looking for. The entire staff was very warm and welcoming to us and very friendly to our over excited dog. One of the owners even came to meet Martin on our last day there...It was very sweet how they treat their guests. At one point Martin ran from the room out to the street out front without his leash on. Chris immediately jumped up from what he was doing and, along with a few helpful passers by and guests, we were all able to grab him before he caused too much trouble outside and possibly hurt himself. While Chris survived an injury (scraped knee), Martin remained injury free because of his help. That story just seems indicative of the warmth we encountered this past weekend. Besides the accommodations, you really can't beat the location of the Motel, one to two blocks from the water and actually on the salt pond. Our six year old and dog both loved the boating and swimming from the dock and we could hardly get the six year old out of hot tub. All in all we agreed that we plan to make this a yearly vacation spot going forward...I was truly surprised and impressed by the friendliness of the staff and owner, Debbie and would love to come back for a visit in the near future. This was my second stay in approximately 3 years. I cannot say there was a much upgrades since my last stay But they were supposedly dog friendly so I took another shot. The staff that work the front desk the first three days of my stay we're very accommodating and friendly the staff that showed up on Friday was unprofessional and rude and basically ruined my entire opinion of my stay. Though I understand my dog was barking his choice to me was I had to stay in the room the remainder of my stay rather than allowing me to check out and getting some sort of rebate for losing my last night there. The owner stood there and listened and did not interject one word. To me that means he condones his employees behavior and has no respect for the people that purchase his services. Those of you who wish to stay close to the beach in a fairly simple not updated hotel please stay before the weekend staff come on.
