We needed knives for filleting our dinner, this place was convenient since it is literally a minute away from Anne's Beach. they were reluctant to help and show us where in the store I could find what I was looking for. I also needed lighter fluid and a lighter. These people are not personable a lot, they don't seem like they want to service or sell anything. What I really despised about this place is that as I'm Looking around they have a few fish mounted on the walls. As I am at the cash register I noticed immediately that the wall behind the register has a giant Green sea turtle shell. I was so sad, the guy looked at me and said It washed up on the shore. These ancient creatures have been on Earth for more than 100 million years even surviving the dinosaurs when they became extinct 65 million years ago. Among the threats these marine reptiles face are entanglement, habitat loss, and consumption of their eggs and meat. First of all when sea turtles are washed on the shore or any other marine animal like dolphins, whales or porpoises, they are to be reported to the Marine Animal Society. Sea turtles have been a a highly protected because our species knows no boundaries and have pushed this animal to the verge of extinction so that we can have shiny thingy mabobs made from their shell. Their flesh is extremely fine and considered a delicacy. Like we don't have enough food source in this planet already??? It is ILLEGAL to keep and hold sea turtles, eggs, shells, or any part of the animal. It is as illegal as keeping a Bald eagle or a feather of the Bald eagle. If the animal washed up a shore the corpse was attached to the shell, It is illegal to harvest the animal for its shell. It is illegal to display the animals wall without a proper PERMIT. It is not a trophy. And these guys are like it washed up a shore. Why do humans think they can claim everything they touch? I have reported the matter, and if you read this Please help so that something gets done about this. Additional note: We were the only patrons in this place.

Been here many times and its always been clean and well stocked. The bathrooms are always clean and located at the front of the store next to the check out registers. A commercial inventory truck was blocking the front right fire zone causing a safety issue upon exting into the parking lot. If you're lucky you can catch a glimpse of roosters running throughout the parking lot or taking a rest on your vehicle (see pics).

I truly enjoyed meeting Jen, the owner, and I really enjoyed her kitchen and bath section. The items are extremely unique and wonderful for giftgiving and using myself. For example, I purchased handmade soap and sponges that were joined together in different fragrances. I even contacted her once. I returned home so that I could purchase more items. Some of her items (kitchen and bath) are not listed on her website so you would have to call her and discuss these items. When we return to Islamorada next year, I plan to visit her shop again! It is a beautiful, friendly, welcoming gift shop.
