Very surprised. Haven't eaten here in years. Small updates to interior. Hush puppies are still awesome. Had the clam dinner. Was better than expected. Staff was friendly. Busy keeping things cleaned and organized. Definitely impressed. I know it's just fast food but, it was comfortable and we weren't rushed. Food was hot and fresh.

Disgusting. Stale sandwich buns - Greasy / salty fish and I threw away the coleslaw to save myself from any further distress.

I'm glad they were open a little later than average. I was delighted to eat a smoked brisket burger. That thing must've been 6 inches high. It was a monster. My sweetie loved the fish tacos. They have an amazing wasabi, mayo sauce that goes with them. The middles split a prime rib Mac and cheese. They described it as "real American food" with a smile and a twinkle in their eye. That means it's delicious. It's actually a bacon prime rib, mac & cheese, and they don't even mention the bacon because the prime rib is so good. Very filling. I took a sample and it is probably the best tasting meat augmented mac & cheese I've ever tasted. The smokiness just does something amazing there. I like the background music. I like the barn, Midwest, rustic ambience. It was a delicious experience. I had to share about it online with some Japanese folks because of their recent enthusiasm for American "cheese violence". I asked if that magnificent burger qualifies as "meat violence".

I finally decided to try the Chubby Trout tonight…read more I was greeted by a couple of friendly and smiling faces at the door. I was Seated right away and introduced to my waitress, Taylor, immediately. Taylor deserves special accolades. She was so friendly and caring; she made my dining experience special. Thank you Taylor!! Taylor was awesome; she was friendly, always checking on me and sincerely concerned about my satisfaction. She was willing to do anything to make things right if I wasn't happy with something. First I ordered the Crab Cakes as an appetizer. Then I ordered off the specials menu; a Japanese spiced Branzino dish. The crab cakes were somewhat disappointing. Mostly filler and not much crab taste. Sometimes the taste actually resembled a tuna fish sandwich. The remoulade sauce that came with the crab cakes was really tasty. I wasn't really happy with the branzino dish. The fish was cooked pretty well, but "in my opinion" It had too much seasoning and the seasoning had an off flavor. Could just be my personal tastes. The restaurant has a lot of seating, little nooks and corners and a bar with seating. Plenty of quiet areas and areas to gather as a large group as well. Even though I didn't have great food choices today; I'm pretty sure while I'm in town this weekend, I'll go back and try some different dishes. See you all soon!!

All the things that made me fall in love with Per Bacco are gone. The roasted garlic and oil with delicious bread, the amazing house salad with candied nuts and strawberries, the goat cheese crostinis, the impeccable service and the reasonable prices. I know they don't cater to me, and I hope they have continued success, but we will probably not be visiting any more.

My husband quite enjoyed his Black Manhattan. They seemed to really know their wines and have a grand list to choose from. Jordan was our server. She was friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. Helped us with the specials and the menu, since it was our first time dining with them. The meatball appetizer was a solid choice. Authentic Italian meatballs. The Chicken parmesan was a daily special item and the chicken melts in your mouth. Don't forget to ask for parmesan cheese for your entrees! My husband had the bolagnese and it was superb! The serving portions are generous. We brought home to-go boxes, each with at least enough food for another full meal. Sadly, no room for dessert this trip... The inside was warm and inviting. They do take reservations and if you like to dine at 6 p.m. or later, you may want to make a reservation. We walked in at 4 p.m. on a Friday, the first customers of their day. I prefer eating ahead of the crowds. You get to spend more time with the staff, you don't feel rushed and or guilty if you want to stay in your booth for a few extra minutes and just enjoy the experience. Per Bacco, "good heavens", it is a lovely place to enjoy a good meal. Don't forget to ask for more bread!! Oct. 2025
