we hardly eat here but last 2 times we had 1-2 pieces of fish missing from the meal which is terrible considering how expensive it is.

They do feature lots of specific Chinese dishes as well but rarely do you see someone eating these in the dinning area which almost always has room. They are organized and quick with the rare exception of big sushi orders coming in at once. And the pick three sushi rolls is a common and my go-to order. Eel avocado, fried sweet potato, and peanut avocado is my eclectic mix of choice (picture below). Dining companions who opt for the bowls often get a lid and take home leftovers (or they should). And hot tip - pay with cash and get a free fountain drink! It is located right in the middle of Court Street, the main drag for Athens. Parking isn't always available right in front at meters but the parking garage is a block away. They do quite a bit of delivery business as well.

The portion size is great, however a few of our bowls were completing missing ingredients we ordered. It was not as good as I remember, and I assume it's because my cheese was missed. I still love Ginger but it was not as good as remembered!

Atmosphere was open with natural light coming inside. The food was amazing. Crab Rangoons were crispy and creamy inside. I got some more spice for my tofu fried rice. The price for two people was $40.00. I will definitely come back to Siam Thai.

I should start by saying I used to love this restaurant. I was thrilled a Thai place opened in…read moreAthens where the Laab Gai came with sticky rice, the green beans with garlic were awesome, and the curries were all good. Perhaps if you are interested in dining in some of these things remain although the abandonment of sticky rice a few years back was the start of me opting for making Thai at home or seeking it out when I traveled. But last week's experience trying to get carryout is what prompts me to write this review now. For the second time, I could not get anyone to answer the phone when trying to order takeaway. Both times I frustratingly went to order in person and wait. The first time "the ringer was off" and they quickly got my order in. Last week, the answer was "when we are busy in the restaurant, we don't answer the phone." And putting in an order for take out now would likely take 30-40 minutes. So I opted for something else that day and share so others don't have to experience the frustration (and amazement) at a restaurant just not answering the phone when they are busy. I understand food ingredients are more expensive, service sector staffing is difficult and perhaps they were just a chef down that day. But at least make up an excuse, don't just share in the most cynical of ways, we just ignore phone orders when it gets busy.

They do a small, but versatile, and well done menu. The young man in the kitchen knows his stuff. They have flyers up for events happening regularly. My wife found a flyer for a book club meeting she is interested in attending. Lots of shows, lots of bands. Local artist represented. The LGBTQ community clearly and lovingly embraced. We will definitely go back.

Despite lots of creativity on the offing behind the bar, my go-to is the blue G&T with lemon peel served in a martini glass because as a regular says, "F..K ICE!" For those who remember the menu at earlier versions of Athens Uncorked, this one will have some familiar offerings. That isn't a mistake as the kitchen lead at the now defunct Athens Uncorked now runs the show at The Side Bar. I'm partial, then and now, to the baked brie with candied bacon bits although the jam topping works well too. And they don't short you the crackers for this easy shareable. The pretzel bites are a carb injection but again, if sharing, the dipping experience is one you can get behind if you don't make it a habit. I can't speak to the live music and performances they feature on a small stage but I am told it is an inclusive and welcoming performance space. I will say the space has also worked for informal but organized catered receptions after an event on campus. They do have a full dinner menu that I will have to try a few more times and come back with an update.
