Easily the best pizza in southern Ohio. Very creative menu…read more We've had the super mushroom (my fave), the Philly, pepperoni, and the skeletonwitch (spicy). Their crust is phenomenal. Try the green chili jam!!! Service is fast. Only outdoor seating which with Ohio weather can be a pain. There's a speedway down a bit so order pizza then go grab drinks. By he time you get back - pizza done! They also have take & bake. We found it by accident first time then drive an hour back to have it again. It's that good. Full menu is not posted in the store so make sure you check the website.

It leads for its creativity of combos, it leads for local sourcing of ingredients, it leads for its stall at the Saturday Farmer's Market with numerous bread options, and it leads for local ownership with deep commitment to investing in the community. The Super Mushrooms with diverse fresh mushroom types and ricotta and asiago cheese is always my go to even with lots of other tempting combos available in regular, gluten free, and cauliflower crust options in 10" and 14" size options. There is a table in the tiny parking lot for eating at the restaurant, but really this is for takeout or delivery. They do have NY Style and regular cheese and pepperoni slices available by the slice on walk in plus some to go salads and cannoli in the small pick up area.

Where to start? We pulled in and immediately discussed whether it was open or not ... it was dead,…read moreno lights on outside, the windows were dark and there was only one car in the parking lot during dinner hours on a Sunday. That should have told us something but we went ahead inside. We were told cavalierly to sit wherever we please since the place was almost deserted. We received our menus, and they looked okay (we did notice the prices were higher). We ordered mozzarella cheese sticks and meatballs for appetisers, an Italian and veggie sub, and a white pizza "to go" for later snacking. What a costly mistake! The meatballs were large and watery and the sauce so thick it wouldn't spread. The mozzarella cheese was passable for something out of the microwave. The salad arrived, very chintzy for the price. The subs were inedible. The bread practically cut our mouths- it had to be a few days old and very cheap. Made me think about the most affordable bread you can get for subs, but just warmed up in the microwave after it's become stale. The Italian was completely inedible - all the ingredients tasted cheap, bland and kinda "off." The veggie sub was mainly all cheap bread and a few sliced veggies, hardly any cheese or condiments. The place remained empty and we felt bad our waitress because we think she knew how bad the food was. $90 later (!!) we left feeling cheated and still hungry. Later that night, when we opened the "white" pizza, it was so bad it was funny. We expected creamy Alfredo goodness with spinach or artichokes, but in the end, it was a deflated pizza crust (paper-thin but somehow still greasy) that hurt your mouth, with the thinnest layer of cheese melted and tasting mainly like salt. We will obviously never go back and we can't not let people know! We're hoping this place closes soon so another, better restaurant will move in. We traded Lamb's Garden for this?

Not cheap but good pizza. But not good enough to go uptown to get one. Just when I get psyched up…read morefor Mexican pizza they bailed out. "Townes" eat pizza top

They've been slingin' chicken for decades from Miller's on the West Side of Athens. They have a…read moremorning crowd of people who work with their hands loading up on breakfast sandwiches and then a steady stream until the 7pm close. So don't get a hankering for the best chicken tenders (each one is essentially a whole flattened breast) or the more old school offerings like fried hearts, gizzards, or livers. You can get those in bulk and you might ask who would ever...? My high school crew does once a year when the loser of our previous year's fantasy football league caters the next year's draft, that's who. The reason to go is the fried chicken but you can order skinless if you want to behave. They also sell biscuits and multiple sizes of cole slaw, mashed potatoes and gravy, and potato salad. You can dine in at one of probably ten tables and a surprising number of people do. But for me it is about a bucket and some sides for a picnic or that quick decision when plans to make dinner at home go sideways. Parking for 10 or so cars available in front and it is rarely full for long if at all. As a college town, Athens' restaurant scene typically caters to the students. And Miller's is definitely student friendly. But while the students flock to the latest thing (new Cane's on Court Street) the locals know that Miller's is Athens true chicken king. The family business has earned loyalty over the generations. And just know, if you are back in Athens looking for some chicken nostalgia in late summer, make sure you don't land on County Fair Week in August. That is the one week a year they are closed at Miller's.

The gravy is top notch and Mac and cheese very cheesy. The service was quick and simple to order. Prices were great as well, love how you can order different sizes of the sides. The store definitely feels like a mom and pop shop, very cozy and antique ish.
