Definitely saved me close to $200 or maybe more. Most important and noteworthy these boys just jumped at the chance 2X (because I had neglected to bring my wheel lock key that Honda City his in my ownership folder ... yeah, that's where it belongs). They had the car jacked up minutes after I pulled in both times and fixed the hole in a few more minutes. This place is great. Reminds me of a family friend from childhood, Russ, over at Circle Tire in Jamaica, who always took care of my family's needs back in the day. I have a new place to save me and my car.

They patched the tire quickly, were polite, professional, and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. What really stood out was that I had previously gone to Mavis in Queens Village for the SAME issue and was told I needed TWO new tires. My car is only 8 months old! Cross Island Tires took care of the actual problem with a simple patch and had me back on the road. Fast, honest, efficient, and no nonsense. Exactly what you want from a tire shop. Even if 1/4 of the fantastic reviews for RCT Performance were truthful and authentic, we would have used them. But to have close to 100 FIVE STAR reviews, is a huge accomplishment. And even more amazing is the fact that they are literally across the street from our house. The communication via email with Ryan was spot on. I ordered the tires per other recommendations from Tire Rack mid morning on Thursday and they had arrived by mid day on Friday allowing my car to be serviced early Saturday morning. The price for an alignment was half of what we had anticipated and there was no attempt to nickel and dime us. My one wish ? That every task in life could be this simple and stress free. I brought my car here for an alignment, and they damaged one of my axle boots. After calling and…read morespeaking to Ryan, the owner, he acknowledged that it was their fault but regardless he would not help me with the damage to my car and would "work with me on the next alignment." Instead of actually taking responsibility for the situation that he acknowledged his shop had caused, Ryan recommended I bring my axle to another shop to get a new boot at my own expense, and said he would not help me whatsoever in repairing the damaged axle, even if I supplied the parts. To add insult to injury, the leaking axle boot has flung grease all over my brand new suspension parts that I had installed just before the alignment. I really used to love this place, but frankly this is very unscrupulous behavior and will probably not come back after 5 years of being a customer here. Update: Just got home to find that the other axle boot was also melted the same way as the driver's side one. With labor, this is ~$1500 of damage to my vehicle, and they are not helping me with any of it.

I maxxed out my torque wrench trying to hit the amount they torqued it down. Not only is that potentially damaging to my rotors I got injured removing it. I had to jump with all my weight on a 25 inch breaker bar and still wasn't budging. I eventually got them. But I'm not sure if I damaged my impact wrench. If you were stranded on the road 99% of people would never be able to remove a tire without professional help after bringing your car here. Never again. Also they quoted us nearly $2k for a job that we ended up getting done for $900. Edit to add: Just to address the owner's response- I never said a service date, so not sure how he's trying to "verify" anything. It happened. They were the last shop to service the car and it was only that tire they fixed, and that tire that was nearly impossible to remove. Whoever put it back on was probably being lazy that day and used an air impact gun. Don't try to fool the yelp community because now you just look worse in my eyes (and I'm sure others are smart enough to understand you're making excuses to try to discredit me). An apology, and a genuine offer to reimburse me for the service rendered would get you a lot further.

1-Star Review…read more Extremely disappointing experience -- think twice before working here or trusting this shop with your vehicle. I'm writing this as a former employee who genuinely came to this shop ready to work hard and do my job. I'm a husband and father who was working to provide for my family, and I always tried to keep God first, treat people with respect, and give customers the best service I could. I showed up early, worked hard, and made sure customers were getting in and out. I wasn't hired to be somebody's personal helper or to simply agree with everything another employee said. I was hired as a mechanic, and I take pride in my work. Unfortunately, one employee, Manny, seemed to have an issue with me from the beginning. I felt like I was constantly being treated disrespectfully and expected to act like a yes-man instead of being allowed to do my job as a technician. If I disagreed with something or had a different opinion, it wasn't welcomed. What really disappointed me was management's response. Rather than hearing both sides and recognizing the work I was doing, my boss chose to take Manny's side and let me go. I actually have the text messages from my former boss confirming that Manny told him I wasn't right for what he was looking for and that he was letting me go. That's what makes this experience so frustrating. I wasn't fired because I didn't want to work. I was working. I wasn't fired because I didn't care about customers. I cared about them. I was fired because I wasn't willing to let another employee push me around or treat me like a dog. As far as my experience with Manny as a technician, I also witnessed things that concerned me. There were situations where sensors were unplugged and parts were being changed without what I considered proper diagnosis first. In my opinion, that's how customers end up paying for parts they may not have needed. A good mechanic should diagnose the problem, test the system, and then replace what's actually defective--not just throw parts at a problem. Manny also seemed unwilling to listen to another technician's opinion. Everything had to be done his way, and shortcuts seemed more important than proper diagnosis. I know the mechanic I am. I know how hard I worked. And I know the way I treated customers. Losing this job isn't what bothers me most. What bothers me is seeing a hardworking husband and father who was trying to provide for his family get thrown away because management would rather keep one employee happy than recognize another employee's hard work. I wish the owner and the shop the best, but my experience taught me that being a hardworking, respectful employee doesn't mean much if management has already chosen sides. Customers deserve proper diagnosis. Employees deserve respect. And neither should have to kiss anyone's ass to get it. 1/5 -- I would not recommend working here based on my experience, and I personally would think twice before trusting my vehicle to a shop where this is how things are handled.
