A hail storm hit our neighborhood in the summer of 2024. Our house was significantly damaged. The day after the storm I spoke with Donnie at Long Construction. He was working another job in the neighborhood and stopped to answer my questions. I told him that I was a novice when it came to dealing with home repairs and insurance claims. Donnie immediately put my mind at ease. He said that they have specialists that deal with the insurance company so that I don't have to. He also told me that Long Construction would also inspect our home from top to bottom to make sure that everything that was damaged was repaired in full and nothing was missed. I then met with John. John is their insurance specialist and truly a guardian angel. John's job is to make sure that if a repair is covered under your policy, that the insurance company pay it out. To give you an example, initially the insurance company was only willing to replace half our roof, wanted to "patch work" our siding, and was only willing to pay $50 toward a new garage door. John worked night and day to fight for us. When he got done, our roof was fully replaced, the garage door was fully covered, and all siding was replaced. Again, this was because of John's hard work. If I would tried to work with the insurance company myself, I likely would have never gotten the same results and would have had a much higher out of pocket cost. The work on the home went well. The roof was fully replaced in one day. The siding took a few weeks. Now, I will point out that no job (construction related) ever goes perfectly smooth. At one point, one of the workers while replacing the siding, damaged some of the shingles on our brand new roof. Mike Long (the owner and always made himself available to talk with us at any time) took full responsibility and had the roof repaired ASAP. I will also point out that we worked with many other's at the company that I am forgetting to thank, but everyone there is fantastic to work with. We are extremely satisfied with the work done on our home and service Long Construction provided and we will be using them again. We wanted to get a quote on fixing some roof ridge shingles and roof shingles that surround a skylight that had blow off in a wind event we had over the 24/25 winter. Dakota, the sales guy, arrived 9 minutes early, which in our experience, is not common with construction companies. After Dakota looked at what we needed repaired he noticed some broken siding. He then got his compact ladder out and climbed up to look at the roof. He immediately found hail damage that happened on 7/15/2024. After more inspection and help from the "Miracle Worker Insurance Guy" John Oliver, we got the insurance company involved, who John did amazing work with, and were awarded a new roof, skylights, and siding/fascia repair. We have a huge roof. A well organized crew showed up on time and we were in awe at how fast and efficiently they tore the old roof off and installed the new roof. It took them 2 days and a couple hours on the 3rd day to get the job done. They cleaned up daily and left the place in better shape than when they got here. We are very very happy ! ! ! read more

It is easy to do a write-up for a company when everything goes as it should. But how do you write one when things go awry? I hired Long Construction to repair damage to our front roof caused by a wind storm in February. As promised, the supplies and the dumpster arrived the day before and the next morning the crew showed up to begin. Midmorning the lead on the job called and said that the wrong shingles had been ordered and delivered. He stopped by later in the day with 2 samples to confirm which one I originally wanted. The next day I was gone almost the entire time the guys worked. When I arrived home I was shocked to see a color I had not picked. I called the lead on the job because I was so upset and I knew my husband would be very upset. See our house is only 6 yrs old. We had put a lot of time and energy into picking out exactly what we wanted our home to look like and the roof that was on the front of our house was not it. It was Friday and I had no clue where we would go from here. The lead on the job had admitted that there had been another mistake made and took full ownership of it. I was pleasantly surprised by his honestly. I sent an email asking to meet with the owner, Mike Long, after I was told on Monday that the company would be replacing the front roof again. Mike called me and arranged a meeting. Not only was he on time but not once did he suggest that I was wasting his time. He was attentive and apologetic. We talked extensively about the matter and where we go from there. We looked at the damage to my landscaping, talked about the big truck that had parked on our sod, and what we deemed an ugly colored roof. We came up with a plan and he assured me he would be here to over see everything. The following week the dumpster was delivered, my landscaping was protected and the roof was redone. When Mike and I looked at everything the next day I was so happy. He even fixed a special garden decoration that was damaged the first time around! I told him how wonderful his crew was and how much I appreciated him and his office staff. The only thing left is to replace the one bush that was damaged, which will happen is spring. We've had many house surprises come up. Two wind storms caused siding to tear off our house and garage. We also kept getting ice damning in our back gutter and the gutter popped off in some sections. The quoting process was great and Jason was super descriptive about what needed to be done. Their quote was the best out of the three companies I quoted. For example they quoted $350 for the siding repair and another company quoted me $1000. The siding they picked was also a 100% match, and they let us keep the extra piece of siding for the future. They also repaired our gutter and was able to save the gutter. Mike discovered significant fascia rotting, he explained that whoever installed the gutter did it wrong so water was leaking behind the gutter causing our fascia to rot over time.
