For the most part, I didn't have any issues, except when their elevator broke down. They promised for three weeks straight that the elevator would be fixed in the next day or two. On top of this, they increased the monthly price during this time (which I wouldn't have minded if they were actually using the increased rent for maintenance and to fix the elevator quickly). Being on the 5th floor, the trek to my unit was quite annoying, especially since I had a lot of stuff to move into and out of the locker. If you choose to go with them, I recommend trying to get a locker on the first or second floor in case this happens again. read more

I have been a customer for a year now and i am disappointed in the choice i made. Poor customer service, over priced and it's hard to get direct answers. And now have been unable to get my stuff out for this month due to the broken elevator that still haven't fixed. No direct communication, no return calls and no compensation for the problem. I see this place gets 2.5 stars, I rented a 10x15 for 1 month, and I found the actual storage facility 5 stars when you include the actual storage, ease of use, security, security feeling, and most importantly the staff. The staff and the security are the two most important to me, and they exceeded my expectations. I have rented storage facilities over 10 times and have used all the major facilities and smaller garage rentals. This particular location is 100% odd and in an upcoming area (meaning homeless, and weird people are seen but the workers keep the actual storage clean, tidy, and safe. This is an 8 story building with a loading dock so only 4-5 cars can use the place but since I went daily for 3 weeks multiple times I can say only 2-3 times did I have any issues and the most issue was having to park away from the loading dock. An employee has to escort you up and down and you are signed in and out so they can keep track of people and be on the lookout for any issues. Note you need rental insurance or you have to use their in-house insurance at 11-12.00 a month. Some units require a special type of lock buy your own or special lock or buy from them for 20.00 That said, I was able to secure my stuff and enjoyed meeting the guys that work there John, Jesus, Kevin, Jonathon, and Jake. I really enjoyed it and glad I found the place. They are building a nice new apartment next door and I do feel the neighborhood will improve... Please note the times open are more limited than the normal storage. If you can deal with these terms, you will have no problems... Hope this helps someone.... ps I had a short term rental due to termite tenting my condo and being on the 1st floor where you have to leave windows and doors open. read more

I've used Long Beach Security Storage on 2 different occasions and have had good experiences throughout both rentals, and found the prices to be better than other options I looked at. I moved out of my most recent unit yesterday, and Ashton and Francisco helped me out and made the whole process smooth. I had some complications on my end, but they both were able to assist me to make it work without stress and I was very appreciative. I've now moved out of Long Beach, but would definitely rent from them again if I found myself needing a storage unit in the area. read more

I just moved in to the neighborhood this past summer. Upon moving in, I realized I just had too much stuff to fit in my tiny apartment. My new neighbor and his wife both told me about their this facility and how they have been tenants there for sometime. I checked them out and was very glad I did. They were blocks from my location. The facility has a unique character to it. The prices for the units were very good. And the quality of the staff and customer service was very nice. Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. We are on the 6th floor and the elevator has been broken for 2 months. We could not get our stuff out of storage due to narrow stairwells and no use of elevator. They would not credit us, nor inform us of when it would be fixed. Had they given us a discount for the huge inconvenience, I would have been fine! But I had to call at least 3 times to get someone to eventually tell me, no credit for their lack of operable equipment. This could have been rectified, but was handled poorly. read more

This place sucks big time. Besides the crappy manager and his staff if they are there during opening hours haha The elevator has been broken for over 2 months now. I would like to move out and they said they can have a moving company get my stuff down there stairs.. haha ... how are they going to get my heavy motor cycle down there??? Been waiting and waiting to get this sting fixed so I can finally move out of there. Good stuff.. the special price they gave me when I moved in only to raise the rent a few months later by about $30 ... they hardly ever answer there emails. Had a really great experience getting a storage locker here. Seems like they have a lot of protocols in place to discourage theft and anything shady. The location is in a rough neck of the woods, but the staff is incredibly friendly and the building is pretty secure! read more

I've been paying them lots of money over the years because I can't bear to throw away my old crap. Sad, huh? It's not their fault, I know. How can I bear to throw away my old skates, stuffed animals, books, or other things I've already forgotten! It's very easy to find on Anaheim. Just look for the big tall YELLOW building. The entrance and parking is a bit tricky. You only go through the main entrance to pay your rent or buy supplies. If you actually want to take or store stuff then you have to drive through the little alleyway and park in their loading dock. They offer big cart pallets so you don't have to exert yourself too much. Chances are your storage won't be on the first floor. One of the service guys will take you on the big freight like elevator to whatever floor your crap lovingly resides. The lights are on timer so twist it! All the storage units are keep in a cool and dry environment so no worries that anything will fade except your memories of them. Once you're done with your business, you can either push the black call button or scream what floor you're on so the elevator can take you down back to earth. The service guys can't help you load or unload so don't ask. All in all, I've had no complaints. read more

Pass these guys up and find another place! According the the website, this place opens at 9AM Sunday morning. My wife shows up at 9:05, with movers, to empty our unit. The woman at the desk, told her the elevators don't run until 10AM. Nowhere on the website does it mention this! BS! She begrudgingly got off her butt to run the elevator for her. They also take an hour break for lunch at 1PM, so your have no elevator access to get to your unit at this time. Again...never mentioned on their website. We had an issue with the lock, which we bought there. The key broke off in the lock and the woman told my wife she'd have to go to the manufacturer to get the lock replaced. Mean time, we are paying movers to stand around because their employee couldn't get it opened. Our mover was finally able to get the lock opened. They also, either don't care or don't monitor, their 7 floors as there are often times people "living there" and running their business out of their units. These people tend to get upset when you ask them to remove their stuff from the narrow hallways. Our first clue this place was bad news when we first move our stuff in and a transient was sleeping in the hallway on the 7th floor! I'm so glad we no longer have to deal with these unprofessional people. Do yourself a favor and find another, more professional (and reputable) place to store your stuff. read more

YELP OFFER NOT ACCEPTED HERE! I came in with the Yelp offer which they refused to honor. The receptionist was less than friendly before I said a word and continued making phone calls while I stood their awkwardly. When I said I wanted to get a unit and told her about the Yelp offer she said they don't have a Yelp offer. So I showed her on my phone. She got up and talked to the manager and I overheard him saying they weren't going to honor it and someone should have taken it down. So she offered me 25% off my first month because I was actually saving more.... uh no. I can do math. I told her I would look elsewhere for a company that honors it's offers. read more

This is by far the worst storage facility in Long Beach. My unit is on the 6th floor and the lift (elevator) broke in July 2018 was up a week or so and down again. When I first rented I wasn't given the option to insure my belongings. I was told it was mandatory that I pay for insurance or I couldn't rent there. I was there over the weekend to find that my lock was missing and I had been robbed. I tried to file a claim and was told I am not insured. Also, due to the elevator being broken so long I was forced to rent additional units on lower floors. Don't rent at Long Beach Security Storage or you will regret it. read more

My stuff has been here for 2 years and i there hours went from 7am to 9 or 10am because no one wanted to show up early and they say they close at 6 but close at 5 cause they want ro go home early. 3 homosexuals walk around with attitudes there and i have to tolerence for that. Than they want you to start checking in. And act like little kids putting locks on your door so you have to go to the front and have them get there lazy asses up wait for them to drag their way to unlock your lock. Twice, in August, I've arrived on Sunday to find everything at Long Beach Security Storage, Anaheim Street, locked early. I accept that, being an all-indoor facility, the access is going to be typical 'Office Hours'. What I do not accept is the employee in charge *making her own hours to suit herself*. However, on Sunday Sept 3rd, I arrived with 10-12 minutes to spare, plenty of time for what I needed. As I walked in, the girl said, "We're closing right now." She clearly did not want me in there. I told her I needed 2 minutes, not sure of what action, considering she's already breaking the rules, would be taken if I used the 5 minutes I actually needed -- even though that would still have left 5-7 minutes to spare. What are you going to do when the staff is pressuring you, with no reason, except that they don't like their job enough to honor the hours posted, in print, on the wall? She asked if my unit was upstairs. I told her it was ground floor. It shouldn't matter if it had been upstairs: The hours state the elevator is open until 5 on Sunday. I can well understand if someone pulled up with a truckful near closing; but I was obviously on foot with two bags, so any issue is purely her own, her wish to not do her job. That was rushing me to get the things I needed for the shutout day: Closed Monday. That was the worst Sunday to rush a customer, there being no access the following day. Pressure made me nervous, and I forgot stuff I needed, the correct clothes for nights outdoors. I had arrived for the time I needed; but but the person in charge wasn't recognizing the hours listed, in red, on several walls. As I left, I asked a reasonable question: "Why were you closing early?" She ignored my question, and backpeddled, saying, "But I let you in", admission that she knew she was caught closing up before the correct time. She didn't *want* to let me in, and hassled me for it, which I told her. Her response was sarcasm. Look, I don't need sarcasm from an employee doing wrong; and no other customer should put up with that behavior. She has no excuse whatsoever; nor is it a 'misunderstanding'. She fully intended to close shop before the posted time, already had the light in the back hall turned off. Why is this employee working there? More to the point, why is she in charge on her shift? With her attitude, she'll close early again. Don't rent here. You can bet you'll be locked out early, that the employees will not honor the hours you are *paying* for, access that has already been reduced by 1 hour each day. read more

Ordered a U-Haul, it was not there at my allotted time and they had no replaces. They were very unconcerned with the tardiness and the truck didn't come until 2 hours later. Really through a wrench in my moving day. Awful costumer service and business practice in general. Would not rent again. I suggest renting U-Haul from more legitimate source. read more

I wish there was a way to not leave any stars. This place is a dump and I would be afraid to leave anything here. Just so you know they are endorsed by UHAUL. I rented a UHAUL truck and I asked them to also reserve me a storage unit. This is the place UHAUL sent me. Not once did UHAUL tell me that they are not UHAUL, just an independent company that they use. I arrived and they we sweeping water out of the facility because it had rained the night before. So I walked up and told the young lady that I was looking for UHAUL. She was very rude and not willing to help. She never stopped what she was doing to talk to me. She talked in between sweeps. When I told her that UHAUL had booked me here and I did not know this was an inside only facility. Her response... "well, do you want to cancel". At that point I headed back to my car to leave... The only good thing about this facility was the friendly staff. They run all day having to take people up and down the freight elevator. Customer rings bell, attendant comes out opens the heavy elevator door, then enter close blah blah take it up open close and leaves the customer there. When customer is done loading , unloading whatever they ring the bell attendant comes back yells "what floor"? So on and so on. This building is so old, and the auction unit I won had dead mice in it and a living one , the prior owner was storing food so the building must be infested. Also no customer restrooms and very cramped dock in the back the customers have to fight over to get a spot. Like I said, GREAT STAFF =). but the building is in need of fumigation and updating, won't bid on auctions there again. read more

Storage units here are priced well, and the elevator is huge, but that's about the only thing I liked about storing my things here. This place always seems to be short staffed, and the workers never seem to be in a good mood. They're always grumpy and sometimes just rude! The hours are also super inconvenient and they keep shortening them! First they took 15 minutes off the closing time, and now there's an hour gap for lunch mid-day. Today I went to move out of my unit at 8:30am, and the place was completely locked up! They were supposed to open at 8, and I had confirmed with them the day before that it would be open. I had to call their other location (in signal hill) to ask them to contact someone to come open it up. They finally got there at 9:30am. So it opened an hour and a half late, for an "emergency." I bet the worker just overslept! So glad to be out of this place. read more

Elevator recently broke down, and my unit is on the 5th floor. Asked when the elevator was going to be repair they said 3 months from now. The rep was super rude, said no where in the contract states they have to provide an elevator. This is how they expect to keep clients. read more

Do not under any circumstances store your stuff at this place. When we opened up our unit after one month of storage, we discovered mice droppings and pee all over everything. When we approached the management about this problem, they said they were aware of it, but there was only so much they could do. We contacted our insurance carrier and found out we could not file a claim. The management of this place should have disclosed the mice problem to potential renters. If you value your stuff, do not rent from this place! read more
