don't even know where to begin other than do not waste your time with this hotel. First, the management & staff are extremely rude and treat their guest like an inconvenience. They have no idea how to keep reservations accurate & we were kicked out after the first night & was told that the error their staff made when checking us in was our problem. They had no problems kicking out two women and my 3 year old grandchild at 4pm (who was napping in our room) after a full day at the beach and a 3 hour drive home. After we were told we had to immediately leave (via telephone to our room) & again my 3 year old granddaughter was sleeping) which I explained to the front desk. It was clear they were not concerned for us at all or the mistake they had made. I further explained that I would begin to pack but I will need some time and I would like my granddaughter to at least be able to finish her nap. This is when two managers(women) came to our room and began to beat on our door. They called the police due to my refusal to leave until I was able to properly pack my belongings for the 3 hour ride and allow my granddaughter to finish her nap. They were extremely rude and disrespectful to the officer to which the officer asked the women who were upper management they continue to get calls like this from this hotel. The women disregarded the question & told the officer I only signed for one night & I needed to leave. The office in my defense tried to explain to women "haven't you ever arrived late after traveling and don't read the fine line" as we were verbally told at check in we were confirmed for two nights. However, whoever confirmed it at the front desk did not put it in the system so then literally there us in the street. Second, I was hesitant to even stay the first night due to the filth of the room. The head board was stained, the floors were full of sand, I was bit in three spots & their water is dingy yellow. Third, do not bother with their restaurant/bar as the daytime brunch waitress was the most rude waitresses I've ever seen. I watched her speak so foul to an elderly women that asked for a napkin at the bar. I wanted this to be a special weekend for my daughter and granddaughter & it was a night mare! As we were leaving the lobby their were several other guest lined up to ask for a different room due to them not being happy with either the noise or filth. Please whatever you do .... NOT HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE I'm a LB native who needed a wheelchair-friendly place to stay when I went "home" last week. After driving 6 hours, it was extremely upsetting to learn that the LB Hotel was not properly equipped for people who are reliant on handicapped accessibility features. It is an old, modified apartment building or something. The halls are very narrow. The elevators too small (literally, my husband's chair didn't fit in one of the elevators!). The bathroom in our room was not properly handicapped accessible; my husband could not access the toilet bc it was in the corner in a nook. The HOTEL OWNER told my wheelchair-bound husband he could make the bathroom work if he just exerted some effort. Please don't try to stay here if you're in a wheelchair. It was a nightmare. The owner was a disgusting human. From reading the reviews it sounds like we were spared by having to leave. read more

Long Beach Hotel/wedding venue We got married a month ago at the Long Beach hotel in Long Beach, NY. While we had the most beautiful day filled with love, I felt it was important to report the issues I had while planning our wedding so those thinking about this location, will seek out another venue. My experience was not a professional one from beginning to end and we were extremely disappointed with how things were run at this venue. During the course of planning, after the deposit was made and the contract was signed, we found it extremely challenging to communicate with the general manager, Eryca. I was told that there was no one else that could help me. I find it hard to believe that a hotel and wedding venue would only have one person handling all events. Nevertheless, I would leave a message or two or three that wouldn't be returned until at least a week or two later, if that. We went over the details several times, payments were made as requested and still I felt very uncomfortable and concerned when all I was told was "don't worry honey, don't worry, I'm going to make it beautiful". Two weeks prior to the wedding, when final payment was due, We had a meeting to review final details. I had spoken with her prior to adjust our final number (as requested) because we realized that we had numerous children under 21 that would not be consuming alcohol. I had asked for a copy of a revised invoice and was yelled at and told she had a million weddings going on and to print an invoice was a "whole thing with her printer" etc. What kind of venue let alone an event planner can't supply a client with a correct invoice? I was told she would "do her best." I was brushed off on numerous occasions and made to feel that my event was not important or comparable to any of her other "million weddings" she had going on. I was promised several things that were not delivered...one being that she would be on site day of...which she was not. I'm letting the little things go that were missing but do want to report our biggest issue. We paid for two valets and indicated on our invitation that complimentary valet service would be available. When my guests arrived in a timely fashion, there were no valets present. My guests were lining up outside the hotel and were told to go in to ask for a parking pass so they could park themselves in a lot that was a few blocks away. Moreover, many of my guests called the hotel from outside and were directed to come in for a pass. Sadly, a few of my guests are unable to walk even a block due to disabilities-so other guests parked for them. My wedding which was to begin promptly at 3, was significantly delayed due to this issue. This caused great stress for every guest that had to frantically search for parking (on an extremely busy day in the area), park on their own and for us as we were notified that most hadn't arrived to the ceremony space due to parking. Post wedding, I contacted the hotel on numerous occasions to refund my $300 for the absent valets. I was told that they "called her at 3:00 to let her know they were there". We had approximately 60 guests with cars, to which most notified me that they parked on their own. My questions to her were: why were they supposedly there at 3 when that was the start time of the wedding? If they were present, why were my guests given parking passes by another manager at the front desk and directed to self park? Why was I told in a subsequent email that the valets were there at 2:45? And why did my wedding start 30 minutes late due to this issue? I still have not received a response so therefore I'm submitting my review here and reported them to the Better Business Bureau. Ihave worked on the event side of the entertainment industry for many years and not once have I ever come across this kind of unprofessionalism and lack of communication. TV worked Coffee was disguising in the morning from a machine in the lobby LAZY!!! with that said our dinner was amazing! service from the bar was terrible I ordered a Margarita and the outside of the glass was sticky No beach view just road !!! I've never stayed somewhere that consistently got things wrong the way Long Beach Hotel did. Chris, the manager, is great and in the end, attempted to help us. But, the staff seemed to be overworked. During our stay, I heard multiple employees complain about their hours. (not something I should be hearing). Throughout the long weekend, the front desk (Randy in particular) seemed put out or "annoyed" that they had to help us. Perhaps it's the fault of management that some of the staff clearly didn't care at all. A few of our issues: * Our ceremony and reception were held elsewhere, but, our rehearsal dinner, late night after party and brunch were held at the hotel. My wife and I had a block for our wedding nine months earlier. We booked a King Family room for the maid of honor, her husband and their three children. This was the only room that could fit a pack n play. The night her family arrived, we learned that the room was released. They replaced that room with 2 twin rooms on different floors. * It started to rain during my wife's wedding photos outside the hotel. In her wedding dress, she asked if she could borrow the umbrella being used by the valet. The hotel attempted to charge her for it. * They undercharged us for the Friday night rehearsal dinner. Instead of calling and letting us know the week earlier, they emailed us (we never saw the emails) and then texted the bride the day of the party. The hotel demanded we give them a bank check. Even though it was their mistake and even thought it was the day of the party, the hotel needed the bank check. At that point, they should have accepted a credit card OR say we could pay them the next day. Instead of being at the hotel where I could greet my family and friends, I had to go driving around to find a bank and get a bank check. * The room itself was not in great shape. The curtain rod kept falling, the air conditioner broke and the cable box in another room I stayed in was broken. A friend who stayed there the same weekend got locked in the bathroom and the handle came off. Half the hotel (Broadway tower) has been renovatedt and looks beautiful. The other half desperately needs the same renovation. On a very positive note, the food is terrific. Both the Surf Room and the Bar/Restaurant were incredible. So, in truth it should be 5 stars for the food and half a star for the hotel. The biggest problem: The Long Beach Hotel is the only nice hotel near the beach. Without any viable competition, LBH will continue to get away with poor service. I suggest an Airbnb. read more

This is a hotel I would not stay in again. My family and I were here for a memorial and even tho they gave us a slight discount, the hospitality ended there. Out of 2/3 nights we were visiting this hotel we were charged for top shelf liquor even tho we never specified this. The last night we were there the blonde waitress with the large forehead was rude to us and tried to make my whole family leave at 9:45 pm even tho the sign outside the restaurant was LMS. Now getting to the actual hotel, even tho we were charged 200+ a night, we did not have any functioning air in our room the first night. When we expressed this to the staff, we received a lot of animosity and they gave use an extension chord to fix it ourself. My partner and I were also treated very rudely one evening when entering the hotel one evening, though we were checked in, a male staff member told us that if our family members were not checked in before a certain time, their "revenue" would be ruined for the night (we were fully checked in by this point so this was VERY rude to us). Basically, if you can stay anywhere else in Long Beach, please do it. read more

I booked the hotel for Friday through Saturday, with the intention of extending my stay another night, depending on how well I liked the hotel. Checking in was quick and painless. My room was on the second floor of the Lincoln Tower and I had no problems with the elevator-- Yes, it's small, but it fits two to three people and some luggage pretty easily. The room: The bathroom was small, but adequate and had the same toiletries as any other decent hotel. It took a minute for the shower to put out hot water, but it didn't inconvenience me. I was in a room with a king-sized bed, and it was very comfortable. There's a large flat panel tv with a cable box but I didn't watch more than ten minutes of it. No issues there. The only issue I encountered was the noise. There was a bar mitzvah celebration going on downstairs (during the two nights I stayed) and there were kids running up and down the hallways for hours, both day and night. They woke me up both mornings I was there, and it sounded like someone was kicking my door at certain points. Additionally, some work was going on in the room above and it made for a pretty miserable wake up call. All in all, I would stay there again for $140. If it helps, I've stayed at the Allegria and while the outside is nice, my room was a dump. $140 vs $270 or whatever the Allegria charges during the off season is a no brainer, esp since neither hotel outshines the other to any great length. Good luck! Oh, before I forget, the parking situation. Even during off-peak days/times, parking can be a challenge but I was always able to find a spot. I could see it being nightmarish in the summer however, so fair warning. read more

I stayed there, my friend and I wanted a beach weekend. We asked the front desk to hold our luggage. It was a 90 degree day. My friend had 2 outfits stolen from her. I am missing my brown ray bans. I had to get a massage because I was in such pain. Holes in sheets. Just cheaply redesigned. Cracked tile on the floor and the employees weren't dressed professionally. We booked our rooms there over a year ago for a wedding and 2 days before they called people saying they no longer have those reservations but would give us different rooms at double the price. When you checked in, they didn't have room assignments and were giving out any room each clerk could click on faster to whoever checked in first. It was sooooo dirty and run down, smelled like weed, and my brother had a giant cockroach on his sink. The mattress in my room had no mattress cover and a yellow old piece of foam on top. Long Beach HoVel. Be Warned! In the opinion of my wife and I, hovel is a more accurate word to describe the Long Beach Hotel. As defined, hovel is "small, squalid, unpleasant." Good description of the room we booked for two nights to attend a friend's celebration. This is an old hotel and although we were told it had been renovated it was a bit seedy. Our room was dismal. At about 12 feet by 12 feet, it was a little larger than a prison cell (according to Google) with two single beds resting on a hard wood platform with two small pillows. Whatever the material was hanging over the windows, barely covered them. No rugs or carpets, but a hard wood floor. We hung the clothing we brought with hangars in the closet, but needed others for what we removed from the suitcase. There wasn't a single hangar in the closet. Tried to call the front desk, the phone did not work. As we left for dinner we asked for hangars but none was ever delivered. The room was small and dingy. The bathroom, a little bigger than a walk-in closet, had the brackets for a glass shelf over the sink...but there was no glass shelf. A hot water knob was on the wall ABOVE the toilet. As for soap, the best they could do was offer wafer thin packets on the sink. There was no bath mat by the shower. When we returned from dinner, the room was a refrigerator with the air conditioner showing readings in the 60s. Could not find remote to adjust the unit high on the wall. Phone still not working...had to go down to lobby...night guy said HE had to adjust...came up 15 minutes later with remote that didn't work. After 3 return visits he finally brought the temperature up to 73. The bed was so hard and uncomfortable, we didn't sleep well. We left at 11 am for our friend's event, and when we returned six hours later to shower and prepare for our evening we discovered housekeepers never cleaned our room. Beds not made, dirty towels and wafer soaps not replaced. At this point I had a meltdown and went ballistic. My wife and I decided we had had enough and weren't going to stay another night at this disgusting place. As we were checking out, the elevator gate failed to open and we were momentarily stuck. Complaints to the front desk accomplished nothing. When I asked why the room hadn't been cleaned and towels replaced, I was asked, "Did you place a card on the door?" "WHAT CARD I EXCLAIMED?" There was no card to place. It wasn't until we placed this review on Yelp that we discovered so many similar reviews, but fortunately we didn't stay long enough to see the roaches others found. In one of those complaints, the manager reportedly responded by saying, "Well, this isn't the Hilton." When we booked the room, we were not expecting luxury accommodations, but for $525 dollars for 2 nights we had every reason to expect clean, comfortable accommodations...not the squalid environment we had to endure. Came here after working out. Parking is always tricky in long beach since we get a flood of vacationers in the summer. This is a hotel/restaurant. The drinks were good but the guacamole and chips WEREN'T fresh and had way too much lime added. Unfortunately when I got here after spending $100 each on tickets we were told that we could NOT sit at a table! We would have had to make a separate reservation for that! This place is bizarre, & I'm only commenting on the bar & restaurant (by the way neither of which have a name). I want to like this place because Long Beach could use a good hotel & the Allegria, although really nice, is totally mismanaged. Came here for Happy Hour. $3 draft beers + beach attire approved = good start!! They advertised $15 buckets of Coronitas, but when my buddy asked for one he was told they'd have to go in the basement to get the bucket....it took like 3 employees and 10 minutes to get a beach pail and fill it with ice and beers.....seriously!? Ordered some food. The fish tacos were literally Ortega hard shells you can buy in Waldbaums with a little fish, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and salsa. Very weird way to make a fish taco, and not very good...Meatball sliders were equally half-assed...and the Buffalo chicken pizza was way too heavy, not something you'd want to eat on a beach day. Bar had a nice young attractive crowd at first, but they were playing slow depressing Country-ish music, and the crowd quickly diminished. Totally killed any fun vibe that may have existed. Icing on the cake: My buddy asked for another bucket of Coronitas. Put some more ice + beers in the existing bucket, common sense, No? Busboy takes the bucket, Waitress comes over, says it will be a few minutes because they have to get the buckets out of the basement...again...is this the fucking Twilight Zone!? Are we being Punk'd? Ashton!? I don't wanna destroy this place's star rating because the staff seems nice, but management really needs to pull their heads out of their asses. Hey, LB Hotel - I think the entire community is happy that Jackson Hotel is no longer with us. The new hotel is beautiful inside and the staff in the lobby and the hostesses are very attentive and friendly. In terms of getting food in the bar area, the server was very nice, but it appeared to us, there clearly was not enough servers on a Friday night to tend to the amount of patrons. Example?? Sure! Three people ordered steak and only one person got a steak knife, so clearly, steak comes with a steak knife... so my guess is... the super friendly people working here... are overworked. As of yet, I have not used the rooms, but will update my review when/if the opportunity presents itself. PS - thanks for having goose IPA on tap! read more

This place is horrible. Stayed in one of the cheaper rooms on the first floor for the weekend with the girlfriend and the room was disgusting. The place is obviously run down, and extremely small. It was basically a walk in closet with a bed, but the worse part was the bathroom. Unpainted ceiling with primer on it, dirty toilet, mildew on the tiles, large broken wall tiles, dirty bathtub, and chipped up bath tub floor. I felt more dirty after taking a shower. Don't get me wrong, we're not spoiled trust fund kids, and we weren't expecting a five star hotel, but they could at least clean the place up and fix the small little things, especially for charging $200+ a night. We made reservations for a Friday night for a King Deluxe room. We arrived at 11 p.m. We checked in and got to our room. It seems that all of the rooms are adjoining. We could hear the people next door talking as if they were in our room. We went back to the desk and asked for another room. Room #2: small, bare, 2 twins pushed together (King Deluxe?!). The mattress(es) were hard as a rock. We went back to front desk and asked that our card not be charged as we were NOT staying. a week later i see that my credit card was indeed charged. Called, explained, front desk apologized and said they would issue credit. 10 days later, card still not credited the $254 charge. Called again, spoke to manager. He said the hotel owner has to review all credits before they are issued and he was unexpectedly out of town. REALLY?!!!! Unbelievable. read more

3 stars for the hotel, 1 star for the restaurant. Stayed at the hotel for a wedding, which was clean but the room itself was tiny (prob 10 ft x 10 ft), old and the bare minimum as far as furniture/amenities. No ice bucket or refrigerator, no iron/ironing board, no desk/vanity area to get ready just a small dresser. A very old building, with a tiny manual elevator which would've been fine but doesn't fit many people so had to wait awhile to get up to the 3rd floor with luggage. It was sufficient for a night, with convenience to the beach a block away. However despite convenience it's overpriced (the room block rate for weddings was more reasonable). Parking isn't available as expected with this location, but was able to find after driving around. I'd imagine in the midst of July-August finding a spot would be much more difficult than we had in June. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and lobby has a nice beach feel. Restaurant service was the worst. Lots of open tables yet had to wait about 20 minutes before anyone at the restaurant even greeted us let alone seat us with menus. Server never even came over to us after we were seated and 20-30 minutes later we were sick of waiting & had to track him down to give our order and ask for waters. Non apologetic and didn't even have a reason why he never came over to take our order. The food was mediocre at best, and wouldn't recommend for brunch. It's a great location and attached to the hotel, so it's a disappointment the restaurant service is as bad as it gets. I'd go somewhere else. read more

This hotel was weird and creepy (in a good way!). The seashell decorations and colors added a wonderful seaside ambience to a building that you could tell had been renovated. The rooms were cute and small with hardwood floors and simple decorations. We had dinner downstairs at the bar where it was obvious that the staff was new/didn't really know what was going on. They were pretty friendly though, and the food was tasty. The guy playing live music played some good classics and wasn't too Some weird, hard-to-explain things happened. We had opened the window before going to bed but then woke up with it closed, felt like someone else was watching us in the room, and finally my cellphone had flown off the nightstand at some point in the morning without any apparent cause. Stayed at the hotel over the weekend and the staff was excellent!! From the valet to the front desk to the maid service, all personable and great! Regarding the hotel, for me the most important aspects of a hotel room are, the bed, the bathroom and the sound level. This fails at all three. The bed was like a hard box, my gf and I both work up with pins and needles in parts of our body, and she also had a headache. The bathroom has limited space to put your toiletries and although it wouldn't be hard to mount a clear shelf on the wall for this purpose, they didn't. Oh and the water leaked from the shower head all over the floor until I tightened it. lastly, the sun burned into the bathroom through the window, maybe a shade? Minor details that would make a major impact. The noise, well it is Long Beach but you can hear people in the hallway, and the next room as well as outside traffic so that along with the wooden bed, well . . . All told, there aren't many options in Long Beach that are conveniently located near everything (beach, bars, food, etc), it's basically this or the Allegria, which is pricey and volatile so for this being the only choice right now, see if you can deal with it and maybe you'll have better luck. read more

Never stayed in the actual Hotel because I live around the block. However, I have tried the restaurant, the food was fine however the service was unfortunately not great. The waitress kept disappearing and it took forever to get anything we needed. It may have just been an off day but I really wanted to love this place since it was so close to my condo. My partner and I came to stay here for a wedding and when we got to our room we were welcomed with URINE filled in our toilet!! No blanket on the bed, just a sheet! Found the "blanket" in the closet that looked unwashed, seams falling apart on the corners, folded so sloppy and honestly looked like a blanket that belonged to a homeless person. There was no way we were going to touch that blanket especially after discovering that our room wasn't even properly cleaned. On top of that our bathroom door didn't even close, by a lot. Room is tiny, bed (is a full but they say queen) was extremely old and uncomfortable. Stains on the curtains, chairs and I'm sorry to say but there were smears on the wooden headboard that look like bodily fluid. Also the safe in our room didn't work. You can hear every noise in the hallway and from other guest next to you or above you. Workers also loved the yell at one another in the halls so that was lovely. The rest of the hotel is in need of serious renovations. Carpet in the halls are so old, dirty and filled with disgusting stains. Electrical wires hanging out of the walls. Elevator that fits only two people and maybe one luggage is incredibly old and also broke halfway up. Coffee machine BARELY works. Furniture in the lobby is falling apart. Restaurant food wasn't that bad but the workers are slow and glum....the tables after hours that sit in front of the hotel weren't cleaned so there were several tables filled with cups and plates left on them. Honestly, I was outraged. This is absolutely ridiculous and the worst part about it is they charge $238 a night!!!!!!! I would of complained that night of check in but by the looks of the hotel, the reviews I read (which are horrific) I knew nothing would be better. It was also confirmed by my friends who were also staying there the same night that their rooms were just as bad and there is nothing around in this town so we were left with no other option. My partner and I had to leave a night early and paid for a hotel in the city for the same price that was impeccable. I called the next day to express my concerns to the manager Randy (who was careless) and at the end of the conversation I was informed that there's nothing he can do bc he doesn't have the authority to. Why direct me to a "manager" that doesn't have the ability to make changes? When I asked him for the manager that can actually do something about my experience: he told me I couldn't have her contact info since she doesn't deal with guests directly and there was no on else I could speak with. I am a business manager myself and this is beyond unacceptable.... I would never treat a customer this way. To top it off Randy hung up on me. Whoever runs this place truly doesn't care about their business and only wants to upcharge their guests bc there is nothing else in town. Their reviews prove it and it's such a shame there hasn't been any improvements. I hate that I even have to give this hotel a single star. read more

The restaurant at this hotel is a hidden gem! We needed a place to stay at the last minute in Long Beach and didn't want to spend $300 a night - Long Beach Hotel was the only reasonable option. We took it and then decided to stay in for dinner due to a massive thunderstorm. Our hopes were not set too high, if we got a decent burger we would be happy. Well, we were blown away! We ate in the 'restaurant' part, not the bar area. We ordered the short ribs and the red snapper - amazing both dishes! Moist, lean and flavorful. Presentation & taste were both 5 star quality. We forgot to take photos because we enjoyed the food so much! When we are back in Long Beach, this will be a dinner stop without question. Sadly the hotel does it know how to market the chef or his work - because they would be booked every night! Really top notch. We also got the Truffle Fries $9 - great deal and every fry was perfectly seasoned. we couldn't believe it. Go and Eat here!!! read more

My daughter had a reservation for a one-night stay to attend a wedding but because of a family emergency, she was unable to make the wedding. I called the hotel two days before to let them know, aware that they have a 72-hour cancellation policy, however, knowing that life happens and this was a true emergency, I had no doubt the hotel would understand and not try to take their money. After eight days of trying to reach "Matt" the manager, calling 8 times, emailing twice, I have still yet to speak to him. They have lied when I called, saying he wasn't there, telling me to call back at a certain time and when I did what they said, they told me he was there the whole time I was calling in the morning. Do not stay at this hotel because, God forbid you have an emergency, this hotel does not understand that life happens and they said they have an "iron-clad" reservation policy not allowing for kindness and understanding. As for "Matt", what kind of manager are you that you are never there and instead of calling me your self, you have your people do your dirty work. read more

I set up a block of rooms here because my wedding was at the Allegira which is right down the road. This hotel has new rooms which are decent and old, horrible, musty rooms. I only blocked the new rooms which are more expensive. My guests all paid the extra amount. I was so nervous they were going to be put in the old rooms I checked with them 5 times to be sure they were all in the new rooms. The last time I asked was the day before the wedding when I was there in person dropping off welcome bags. They assured me everyone was in the new rooms. It has now been months since the wedding but I have found out after speaking with people who stayed that night that they were all in the old, smelly, nasty rooms. So, not only did they take my guests money they lied to me multiple times. This place is an absolute disgrace and will NEVER step foot in there again. read more
