My husband and I eloped, and planned this celebration a year later for 80 friends. Dish understood our "vision" of the night from the start - we wanted a relaxed and fun evening, with all of our favorite people and things. They made our favorite foods as the mains (tacos and pasta), with delicious and beautiful hors d'oeuvres, and sooo many incredible sides (the adorable cups of Caesar salad were a huge hit!). The food was absolutely perfect - we had so many unprompted compliments from our guests about the food throughout the night. Including our Nova Scotian friends absolutely loving the lobster rolls, and they would have been the harshest critics! Everything was somehow even more delicious than it was at the tasting. We also had a few gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free guests, and Dish had no problem either adapting or adding options to the dishes to ensure that there would be enough to eat for all the dietary preferences we threw at them! Julianna even made gorgeous signs (to match our wedding website!) that accompanied each food item to ensure no dietary mishaps. We heard rave reviews from our guests about the bartenders and servers, and all the staff were so happy and personable. We have no idea how they managed to pull off so much behind the scenes while literally everyone seemed so cheerful, calm, and professional all night long. My husband and I were truly free to enjoy ourselves and be with our friends without a single thought to logistics, and there are no words for how much that meant to us. Extra thanks to Stella as well, our amazing night-of captain! Beyond the delicious food, the entire experience working with Dish was full of incredible surprises that show just how thoughtful, prepared, and seriously GREAT AT THIS they are. From the moment we walked into the tasting (January 2024) and they had set up the Lobster and Rose cart as an extra surprise, until the very end of the event when they presented us with a tote bag full of thoughtfully and carefully packed containers with some of almost every single dish. They knew, even before we did, that leftovers are one of the best ways to relive the magic! Julianna was truly a godsend every step of the way - menu choices; floor planning; advice on everything - rentals, furniture, DJ; brainstorming ways to make our poutine dreams come true; never forgetting a single detail mentioned in any interaction; and so, so much more. More than that - she did it all with SO much support and thoughtfulness. Dish felt like so much more than a caterer, they were genuinely partners in planning the wedding celebration of our dreams. The wedding was at the Picnic House in Prospect Park and the staff knew the venue and transformed it into a beautiful venue exactly how we imagined it. Alfonso was great from the minute we got there. He was calm and efficient in helping to set up for the ceremony, the decorating, the fireplace, the centerpieces and candles just how we pictured them and it was all perfect. He helped organize the ceremony and timed everything perfectly. During the cocktail hour, the food stations and the passed food just kept on coming and was all interesting and delicious. My guests were already raving. For the reception we chose the buffet which was generous and delicious. Many of my guests were saying, "There's more food??" The waiters were great, the bartenders great, everything went without a hitch, even the clean up was seamless, not to mention all the food we took home!! The reception we attended had a 90 minute cocktail "hour" followed by a 5 course seated Asian/Fusion (Kosher) dinner served family style. Meanwhile, during the beginning of the meal the space used for cocktails was transfomed into the DJ/Dancing area. All the while, terrific wine, beer and cocktails flowed from a well-run open bar. This is a good option for planning an NYC small wedding (the one we attended was about 80-90 people and felt crowded at times.). If you are having a big wedding, this will be too small. It would be a GREAT space for an office holiday party or Bat/Bar mitzvah as well. My only suggestion? Better a/c & ventilation - especially near the 3 unisex bathrooms. The bathroom area was hot and smelled awful. 3 bathrooms was not really adequate for the group especially when one was being used alot for the bride's wardrobe changes. In anycase, the venue is fine - but make sure you get a skilled, competent event planner to help you bring in the right look & catering.
