Topaz is a top notch florist in Oceanside, they are very client based and have some great design Ideas. The owner Mark is heavily involved in social scenes and keeping up with trends. From what is on their website you can see that they actually care about the quality of work they produce. I have used them in the past and would continue to recommend them to anyone, as well I have been to some weddings and parties that were supplied by them and the arrangements were fresh and crisp looking, this is not a babies breath and pink carnations sort of shop. read more

Apparently, my experience wasn't out of the norm for Flowers by Topaz. When my mom started chemo, my cousins in England sent her a huge bouquet of flowers. I knew they had googled "Florists, Oceanside, NY" and Flowers by Topaz came up. The bouquet came and all the flowers were basically dead. I called the store and was called a liar by some woman who answered the phone. She swore up and down that the flowers had arrived the day before so I was "trying to scam them and get more than what was paid for." I told her if they came to pick up the flowers, they'd see what I was talking about. She berated me that if what I was saying was true, I'd bring them over. I tried explaining that I don't drive and my mother was blind as a side effect from radiation. She continued to call me a liar so I hung up on her. I called back the next day and asked to speak to the owner. He got on the phone and continued to back up his awful employee from the day before. I will never, ever do business with them. People are entitled to have a bad day but their reaction was OTT. I'll stick to Wicks, Imperial or just about anyone else. read more

I was so excited to chose this vendor that I booked them 1 year before the wedding. The meetings went so well in the beginning and I was certain I made the right choice...UNTIL I scaled back the contract from $17,500 to $11,000. Well, that's when the numbers were wrong, the responses to emails and voice mail messages were extremely delayed. The deposit amounts I paid and he documented were off by $500~ not professional. My ceremony pieces that were to be Mostly all white roses were all feathers. I paid $450 per piece for feathers. Not one white rose & the boutineers were wrong. Goes to show you My concerns were not addressed. But to me, the most upsetting aspect is my email to let Mark know How I was feeling after the event ~~and No response or apology for their errors. My centerpieces were AMAZING, but at $400 a piece I would have accepted nothing less. I would advise going with someone else unless you have a budget of $15,000 or more. I used them for my wedding at Chateau Briand and worked directly with the owner, Mark Masone. He did not provide the flowers I contracted for and did not listen to my comments ignoring my complaints. I was really disappointed with the whole experience working with Flowers by Topaz. Mark took forever to answer my emails and never called me back. I would give them 0 stars!! They sent a funeral arrangement that was half dead to my uncle's funeral. When I called them from the funeral parlor Ana, the sales associate was very argumentative that you get what you pay for. I paid $174.00. But I guess they do not think that is a lot for a floral arrangement. Not only did no one from the florist come to check the arrangement , and NOOO replacement was offered and the owner MARK DID NOT HAVE the courtesy to return any of my messages. They insisted that the arrangement was fine and that I lied because of the size. Flowers by Topaz should not be in business. They are liars and are terrible at floral arrangements and costumer service. read more

I ordered flowers through FTD for delivery from their Southampton branch. The delivery was time sensitive and I was notified that the delivery was made on time. IT WAS NOT DELIVERED AT ALL!! When they finally arrived late the following day they were not fresh. A totally disappointing experience. read more

I've never used this florist but all the stuff looks great. I just can't stand people that hide behind a keyboard and use yelp to bash people that work very hard. They probaly have an ashtray next to their computer...Keep up the good work! read more

I'm giving them one star just for getting my flowers to the funeral home on time. However the flowers they delivered were absolutely embarrassing! I spent $200. on a funeral arrangement that was beautiful in the pictures, but what I got was a few dime store carnations stuck in foam. I will never order from them again! read more

I have know Mark for about 20 years now since i moved to OCEANSIDE. He has not only been wonderful to work with but also has become a great friend. I have worked with Flowers by Topaz for my children's baptism, communion's, confirmation and recently my daughters SWEET 16. At every event Mark has used his Golden Touch and created exactly the ambiance i had envisioned in my mind. He is very hands on and wants to be included in every detail of my affairs. He really truly cares about the quality of work he produces. I know i am in good hands with MARK as my party planner. I believe what makes him different from other florists and party planners, is that he just loves what he does and truly wants to be the best at it. Every party Mark has created for me, not only are my guests amazed by his work, but the venue's where I have had my affairs are floored by his creations. He is a respectable, hard-working and a wonderful family man. He has beautiful family values and it shows in his dedication to his family business. I just LOVE HIM and i thank god we met.
