We found The Unruffled bride through Reddit and after seeing so many positive reviews we were excited to book them for our wedding! Unfortunately the reality didn't line up at all with what reviewers were saying. After we put down the deposit, Rebecca was virtually impossible to get ahold of, each time giving a different excuse (she disappeared for 2 weeks saying she caught a fever then another week saying her phone was in the shop). I had to ask repeatedly for her to deliver the most basic things (confirmation of the latest plan, a run of show timeline, contact my vendors, literally anything) and she never did, often getting upset with me for even asking. Most of my vendors said they didn't hear a word from her til they met her the day of the wedding. So what should have been a seamless process was all over the place. The day of was worse. They didn't play our song as we walked down the aisle, left the ceremony venue a mess (so much so that my wife and I had to return to clean the venue ourselves the next day), messed up our seating chart despite several emails with super clear instructions and dropped the ball on almost everything we asked them to do. Luis was an absolute star day-of coordinator for our wedding day. He fielded our many emails and questions leading up to the event with kindness and patience, and encouraged us to call or text with any updates as the day drew closer. He created an extremely detailed timeline for our wedding day and coordinated with all vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page. On the day of, he kept us on schedule almost down to the minute, and responded to any unexpected events calmly and with professionalism and positivity. He set up our decor just as we'd envisioned (and sometimes even better), and at the end of the night packed it up just as carefully. We especially appreciated how attentive he was to our parents and to our guests with dietary restrictions. Whether it was reworking floral arrangements to create an extra boutonniere just before family photos, or enlisting the venue coordinator to repair our cake topper in the middle of the reception when we thought it was beyond saving, we were consistently impressed with Luis's dedication, resourcefulness, and professionalism. I am naturally a very anxious person, but as soon as I saw Luis in action I knew that I could relax and that he had everything under control. At the end of the night he even personally followed the delivery driver back to our hotel to ensure our decor was returned safely. Many of our guests commented on how smoothly everything ran and how much fun they had. We mostly did our own planning but needed help working out the logistics and definitely wanted someone who would coordinate all the moving parts on our wedding day. Rebecca and Luis helped us think through every step, even helping with some complex DIY elements. We bought our own alcohol and much of the wedding supplies. They coordinated where and when everything would go, and helped us get everything from one place to another. They also managed a specific wedding decor setup and made the room look like a dream. After the wedding, they handled a complex pack-up with various supplies going to different people/places. They answered every single question with patience, and on the day of the wedding, we were able to truly enjoy ourselves because we fully trusted them. My husband and I ended up picking a venue (26 Bridge) that was essentially a blank slate. We had to source everything from the plates, to the caterer, and down to the linens, etc. We were nervous and overwhelmed by the choices as well as what the actual wedding day would look like with so many different vendors. Therefore, we knew we needed a wedding coordinator to help us. We got so much more than we bargained for with Rebecca and Luis! I cannot say enough good things about these two humans. Rebecca and Luis have a calming presence about them which was so helpful both during the planning process and the day of, while at the same time they were knowledgable and on top of things. The couple is so kind and thoughtful and we could tell they were really invested in making our wedding day memorable and special to us. Rebecca was always there to answer any questions or discuss any concerns we might have regarding our vendors during the planning process. The phone calls were helpful to check-in and keep us on track (and sometimes vent). She even helped us navigate one of our more "difficult to work with" vendors. In addition, she was always so professional, prepared, listened to our wants and needs, and was attentive to details. We had some special requests and instructions for the day of that she and Luis had no trouble executing. My husband and I decided to get ready for the wedding off-site and it was so nice to not have to worry about a thing the day of the wedding but rather just focus on getting ready and having a good time with our bridal party at the hotel. The wedding was absolutely stunning and everything was exactly as we described to Rebecca and Luis ahead of time, when we walked in. We were blown away. Everything went so smoothly during the wedding and we did not have to lift a finger but rather just enjoyed the moment. I found Rebecca and Luis online as I was searching for solid wedding day coordinators who weren't going to break the bank. From the first time I spoke to Rebecca over the phone, she put me at ease instantly. She's very empathetic, really understands the struggles brides go through while planning an wedding, and is so down to earth and real. You actually feel like she's a family member or friend. During the rehearsal, I shared with her and Luis some issues that had popped up with the venue. Even though I knew there was nothing I could do (a wedding will never go exactly the way you plan), I still needed to express my frustration. Rebecca and Luis really went above and beyond for us! We could not recommend them highly enough. Rebecca is extremely patient when dealing with brides who have no idea what they're doing! She helped me with a timeline, communicating with vendors, ideas, what's important/what's not when it comes to spending money, and reminded us that this was OUR day. We met with Rebecca and Luis in person a couple of times to go over details of our wedding and it was really nice getting to know them. You could not ask for nicer people to help you plan your big day. They are also extremely knowledgeable about this industry -- they had worked with a lot of our vendors before and had also worked with our venue, which was extremely helpful in the planning process. For the month before our wedding, they really took the lead on communication with vendors and making sure everything was in place (with COVID restrictions and venue insurance, etc.) so that we didn't have to do it. And our wedding was absolutely perfect -- the timeline was great but even when it had to be changed (due to rain, etc.) Rebecca was on top of it to make sure we didn't stray too far. I truly do not know what I would have done without them on our wedding day -- but it would not have been as smooth. In addition, Rebecca and Luis did a lot of extra things for us to make sure our day went how we wanted. For example, we purchased our own alcohol and they picked it up from our apartment and made sure it got to the venue. They also dropped off anything left at the wedding to our hotel room after the event. Luis also transported our arch from our ceremony area and placed it behind our sweetheart table, which was amazing. We also purchased A TON of candles. Not only did Rebecca ensure that my vision was played out and light every single one, but she also made sure no one caught their purses on fire (it was a close call!). I also want to note how gracious Rebecca and Luis were with postponing our event due to COVID. Not only were they responsive in changing our wedding date, but they offered to help with our other vendors and were truly sorry that we had to postpone at all. Stop searching- book Rebecca now- you need her in your life. Seriously, aside from my photographer and my hair/makeup artist- Rebecca and Louis were indispensable. They made my day go so much more smoothly than it would have had I not found them. They definitely kept my stress levels low. If you have a wedding of 100+ guests- I highly recommend a day-of-coordinator. Prior to the wedding, Rebecca will email you as much as you need her- she's very responsive. Even if you don't reach out, she will check in on you periodically to see if you need anything. Closer to the wedding day, Rebecca pointed out a few things that I still needed to consider that I had left off my checklist- she brings so much experience with her- she just knows what works and doesn't work. For the day of the wedding -they decorated my tables with centerpieces (I did not have floral centerpieces that a florist would arrange and would have had to do it myself or had my bridesmaids take care of it), printed menu cards for my donut dessert station, set up my donut dessert station, printed and set aside reserved ceremony seating for family, talked to all my vendors before hand to check in on them, lined up my bridal party with military precision for both the ceremony and reception introductions, helped me deal with the fact that the DJ booth is upstairs and everything is downstairs, packed up everything at the end of the night, and a whole host of other small details that I can't even count. There will be things that go wrong the day of your wedding and you just have to roll with it. I didn't have to roll with it- because Rebecca and Louis rolled with it instead. There was a delay in the dinner service from a kitchen miss-hap at the venue- my husband and I started to notice because we wanted to do the cake cutting no later than a certain time. With our anxiety levels about to rise, Louis and Rebecca swooped in- anticipated our needs and dealt with the caterers directly and kept on top of them until the job was done. They also helped coordinate all the communication with our photographer, dj, and videographer the day of, which was key when timing was becoming a bit delayed. If they weren't there, all that responsibility would have fallen on me- or for me to assign to someone in my bridal party- which I can't even imagine having to stress out about. We hired Rebecca to be our day-of-coordinator for our wedding @ the Brooklyn Historical Society. She provided affordable pricing and did not hesitate in taking on all my diy decorations I had planned for. She met with us in person three times to introduce herself, get a sense of how we were doing with our wedding plans, and walkthrough the venue. Just from our initial meeting, we felt very comfortable and "ourselves" with Rebecca. She was a great listener and took in everything we said. She didn't mind listening to our bickering, our sarcastic jokes, or the snide silly remarks. For areas we haven't considered yet, she was helpful providing a list of vendors we can reach out to. For the days leading up to the wedding, I was nervous and worried. I kept asking myself, "Will all the decorations and plans come together the day of?" or "Will the vendors know where things go?" or "Will they find my 10+ boxes that I left with the venue?" Now looking back, I was a fool to be so nervous! Everything came together and everyone has been raving about the wedding (including the setup & decor)! Rebecca and Luis worked with the caterer, DJ, MC and our on-site manager throughout the wedding night. They informed us if we were running behind schedule and provided solutions on how to get back on schedule. In the end of the night, we didn't have to worry about anything. Every one of our guests raved about how well coordinated everything was. In terms of the ways they were able to make an impact, both Rebecca and Luis coordinated the change to move the wedding indoors due to the extreme heat happening that day. They also personally went out of their way to get more liquor after the bar ran out of alcohol. Clean up at the end of the wedding was unbelievably seamless. There's a reason everyone has put 5 stars in their rating of Rebecca and Luis' business. They are the absolute best at what they do. They're professional beyond belief, managed the big and small, didn't let anything slip, and adapted to anything that we threw their way. Specifically: - Rebecca and Luis joined us for a pre-wedding meet and greet, met with everyone and made sure they knew all the key players before the day of the event. - We weren't picky about how the decorations would lay out in the venue. Rebecca and Luis made it GORGEOUS. - We had an uncommunicative vendor in the week leading to the wedding. I was having terrible luck getting a hold of someone to help. Rebecca got after them to communicate with us immediately, and helped keep an eye on the particular vendor on the day of the event. - We live in NYC and couldn't keep much of anything from our wedding. We created a "donate" list and asked Rebecca and Luis to pack things up so we could easily take the boxes to Goodwill the next day. They packed everything up and did it themselves, so we didn't even have to make the trip to donate everything the next day. It felt like a million pounds of logistics were lifted off of us when we could just enjoy after-hours drinks with guests and not have to return to the venue to pack up. Rebecca Carlo was absolutely amazing to work with, not only on my actual wedding day but every day leading up to it from the moment my sister decided to give me the wonderful gift of a day-of wedding coordinator. Rebecca is warm, genuine, and has a wonderful, calming spirit and positive "can-do" attitude. Throughout this experience she was a great ally (dealing with one extremely difficult vendor who shall remain nameless) and yes, through the process, she even became a friend. Prior to my sister's suggestion and gift, I really didn't think I would need a coordinator and thought it was an unnecessary expense. I thought coordination was something I could handle on my own or have a sister or my mom handle. I did not count on how many things need to get done the day of, how many mini-emergencies would arise (from my dad forgetting his belt to a guest becoming ill and needing to be taken to the hospital!) nor did I think about how my family could possibly handle all the "little" things for me (that aren't actually so little) when they would be busy getting themselves ready, lining up for the processional, taking pictures and being active participants in my wedding. I did not consider who would create a timeline of the day, and ensure we stick to it (so we don't get charged extra for time sensitive vendors)? Who would round up people for pictures so no one gets left out? Who would pin on corsages and assist elderly relatives? Who would make sure the vendors all get paid? Make sure decorations and favors are in the right places? Have people sign the guest book? Distribute programs? Cue musicians? Run back and forth between vendors and handle their questions? Collect/gather all my personal belongings (cake knife, guest book, personally created signs, custom cake topper, keepsake menu, program, etc.) so I can make a smooth, worry-free exit? Arrange with caterer for some food to be packed up for me and groom so we'd have food at the hotel later that night? And these are just a few examples of what Rebecca and her assistant did for me on my wedding day. There were countless things that went on "behind the scenes" that I'm sure I still don't know all that Rebecca and her assistant did to make my wedding go smoothly but believe me, I appreciated it all. In gifting me with Rebecca's coordination services, my sister really gifted me with time : time to enjoy the day, time to enjoy the amazing moments with my groom and time to catch up with family and friends that I rarely get to see. When I shared my experience with co-workers and friends, too many people recounted their wedding stories of barely getting a moment to themselves, not getting to see or speak to their guests, not getting to eat anything, etc. but I can honestly say that I was able to do all of the above and more. If you're planning a wedding of any significant size, a DOC will be one of the best investments you make, and Rebecca and Luis are the best of the bunch. Day-of coordinator is something of a misnomer with them - they provided vendor and logistical advice during our 18 month planning period, prodded vendors who were less than fully responsive, provided emotional support, and pretty much anything we needed whether or not it was in their contract. They used their connections at our venue to let us do a venue walk-through at a non-standard time which was a huge help, helped us choose vendors, and worked hard to understand what our vision was and how they could make it come true. On the actual day, they kept everything on schedule, dealt with some unexpected complications (like a collapsing chuppah or a table breaking mid-dinner), made sure we were fed during our time alone after the ceremony, led a rehearsal, and I'm sure did so much more behind the scenes that we'll never know. They bustled the wedding dress, guided us from place to place, and made sure everything looked like we envision. They're also wonderful as people - they truly go above and beyond. Even after the big day, with their contract fulfilled, they reached out to our venue to clarify some remaining issues. The ONLY reason I'm not giving a perfect score is that whether due to miscommunication or travel difficulties, they showed up on our wedding day about 40 minutes later than anticipated. This didn't wind up mattering, as our wedding party was on point with setup, but it made things a bit more stressful. Regardless, I'd still recommend Rebecca and Luis to anyone planning a wedding in the NYC area with flying colors. Rebecca is amazing! I am so happy my husband and I hired her to coordinate our wedding. We had a very DIY wedding so there were many details that we would need to handle ourselves. Rebecca and I emailed constantly in the months leading up to the day and met up a few weeks before. She helped keep me calm and take care of things when many things didn't go as planned in the weeks leading up to the big day. She and her husband are a great team. When air conditioning fluid started to leak all over the reception venue, they calmly suggested I move the tables around and have the dance floor in the middle. Rebecca and Luis filled so many roles at our wedding. They were our Day of Coordinators but they did far beyond this and their staff was amazing. They put up all of our decorations exactly to our specs, set up all of our tables, managed the music and the sound system, helped our ceremony run smoothly, got all of our guests seated in time, put out all of our "hors d'oeuvres" and cake/doughnuts, made the coffee (and had a genius way of trouble shooting it when one of our coffee pots broke), filled everybody's water glasses, cleared everybody's plates, helped with announcements and cleaned and boxed everything up at the end of the night for us. Rebecca even ran to a nearby deli and begged them for to-go containers when our caterer forgot to provide them--we had way too much food left over and we didn't want to waste it. I strongly recommend Unruffled Bride and would do it all over again w/ Rebecca and her husband Luis! I didn't have a care in the world on my wedding day and I credit them with keeping me at ease day of and throughout the lead up. They're super professional, super talented, and are the most wonderful people. HIRE THEM. My wedding was July 2017 and I had my first conversation w/ Rebecca earlier that January. I felt an instant connection w/ her and her planning style. She's empathetic, confident, experienced, and I remember that she had so many good questions for me. Our venue was a new one for Rebecca and she was excited to work in a new place and to learn it. We hired Unruffled Bride for "day of coordination" and had 2 very helpful advance planning meetings. Even though I am a bit of a super-planner, I really had no idea about so many "wedding things," and really appreciated their perspectives (on handling certain traditions, or challenges with family or guest list lol). I never once felt like they were trying to superimpose anything that "wasn't me" or "wasn't us." While they have so many good ideas to solve operational/logistics issues, they don't make you feel like there is some boilerplate format that you or they need to follow. Rebecca and Luis collaborate so well and I know my husband appreciated him coming to our meetings and hearing his perspective too. Rebecca also has a fantastic network of people in the industry who just adore working with her and can offer so many great recommendations for vendors. 3 weeks before the wedding, we had one walkthrough together at the venue with core vendors. Day of, everything went super well with setup and breakdown and everything in between; they will shield you from ALL that stress and handle ANY issues. It was amazing! They have "Seen it all" and are such a supportive presence; I can't imagine not having them as part of this important day and I adore them. Rebecca and Luis went above and beyond to make sure our wedding went off without a hitch. When I got to the venue, I realized I'd forgotten my shawl, and Luis went back to get it for me so I didn't have to worry. Our venue was a little hard to find, and they helped direct guests and also walked guests out at the end of the night and helped them call cabs. They took care of our centerpieces (family heirlooms) and made sure they got back to our hotel at the end of the night. I really felt I could relax and just enjoy the evening since I knew Rebecca and Luis were totally on top of things. Overall hiring them was some of the best money we spent on our wedding, and I'd definitely recommend them to others! read more

Rebecca and Luis are everything you could possibly hope for when it comes to day-of wedding coordination services. At our first meeting with Rebecca, she provided us with a list of things to take care of that we had not thought of, as well as a list of vendors that ended up being much less expensive than the ones we had previously looked at - all this before even signing a contract. In the weeks before the wedding Rebecca kept in touch with me and was happy to provide help whenever it was needed. Our wedding was very DIY - the event space provided a tent, tables, and chairs - the rest was up to us, and on the day of, Rebecca and Luis were lifesavers. They helped us set up all of the tables and chairs, our decorations, coordinated with our rental companies, and even went so far as to set our tables for us. During the event itself they kept everything on a proper time table and made it possible for my husband and I to actually participate in and enjoy the event. Rebecca and Luis have a calming presence. No task is too big or too small, no problem is insurmountable. Our wedding was exactly what we wanted it to be, and Rebecca and Luis contributed a huge amount to the success of our event. One of our most treasured wedding memories is standing together with Becky just outside of our venue -- ready to follow our parents down the aisle. About to open the door, Becky looks at us, her eyes filled with tears, and tells us how happy she feels to be a part of our special day. Several months afterwards, it's hard to imagine that day without Becky and her dedicated team. My fiance and I argued about whether or not we should have a wedding day coordinator: he insisted that we have one; I argued that it's one expense that we can avoid. How right he was! (and wrong I was). Our day would not have been possible without Becky: she set up lights, furniture, decorations, and the photobooth; she made us boutonnieres and designed our table settings; she ensured that all the vendors were up to par, taking care not only of our guests but also us; and kept the day filled with light and joy! Also, she was extraordinarily available during the planning process: we communicated over email and telephone multiple times; she was always responsive, gracious, and extraordinarily helpful.
