Horrible experience. Even though I'd bought a new motorcycle from them recently and had them sell my low miles clean S1000R (they make 15% commission of course), they overcharged me for a very simple 2 minute job. When I brought it up the manager was rude and kept saying you signed the papers and you were aware. I clearly stated that I was not aware of this particular charge but he wouldn't even knowledge to somehow satisfy a customer who's given him business. I will never buy or service with this dealership again. If you're south of Long Beach I highly recommend Ivy Seaver in Orange (they're very professional and very helpful) and if you're north of Long Beach of course you have lots of dealer options in Los Angeles. I have - and have bought a lot of motorcycles from many brands and dealers, and have to say THANKS to the Long Beach BMW folks for an A+++++, 5 - Star experience. Unfortunately, buying motorcycles from many motorcycles dealers is a less than professional experience, and that's putting it gently. LBBMW stands WAY high above the crowd in terms of the overall "experience" and the "PEOPLE". Us bikers are passionate about biking - and buying your very personal bike should be a great experience, and this was. First and foremost, I want to say THANKS to AMY, she was a first class Sales PROFESSIONAL, knew her stuff, is nice, smart, and professional - and did I say she knew her stuff? She really did ... about the best PRO in the business, esperienced in product AND knowing how to treat people, AND knowing how to get a deal done with gratitud, pleasure, and fun ... she smiled all through it, but also deeply knows her stuff - ASK FOR AMY if you want a great bike and buying experience. Quick update. My battery died on my bike and I was not able to find a replacement anywhere online other than through BMW. Via the general website, I bought a battery and got a call from a local dealer a week later. They told me they could not ship the battery. Then there was a small hassle to get my order canceled and refund. I called Long Beach BMW and told them what happened. The sales rep offered to drop the battery off at my house on his way home!!!! I had the new battery at my house within hours. I have never had a business go out of their way to do something like this and feel awful that I didn't catch the persons name. But I hope this helps get the word out on how great they can be. read more

Three weeks ago, I was on the market for a motorcycle as a new rider and first time buyer. I had only been to two other dealerships before coming to Long Beach BMW Motorcycles and was already feeling overwhelmed. For the first time, I wasn't met by a sales person that bombarded with me questions or who rushed to get me in the seat in front of his computer. The dealer I conducted business with was Michael. After learning I was a brand new rider, Michael was able to provide the knowledge he has and make it so as someone like me could understand and be confident in my motorcycle selection. He displayed a great deal of patience when he answered all of my questions. And when he didn't know the answer, rather than making something up because I didn't know any better, he took the time to find the answer or ask someone else who did know. He was very real when I asked opinion based questions regarding gear and motorcycles which made me trust him more. Michael made a sale that I was very happy with. Not only do I have an extremely affordable payment, but I can ride in confidence knowing I'm backed by the customer service they provide. After it was all said and done, Michael took it upon himself to go above and beyond for me. On his day off, Michael helped me get my new motorcycle home and pretty much taught me how to use it to its full potential by explaining all of its features. I understand that it's Michaels job to ensure he makes that sale. But I sincerely feel that making sure I was satisfied was his priority. Although it has been a few weeks, Michael and I are still in contact. He's invited me to go on rides and to even join him when he goes to the tracks. Lastly, because I took the Beginners Riding course with Long Beach BMW Motorcycles, they kept their word by reimbursing me for the course and crediting me $500 to go towards gear. One of the best things about this dealership is that they let you test ride as many bikes as you like. This was super critical for me because it really helped me feel and understand the differences between the different models. I can honestly say I didn't end up buying a Triumph because I wasnt able to test drive one. Another nice part of my experience was the help from Gaje both before and after purchase. I've almost been with Long Beach BMW 10 years. My first experience was so good, I purchased my hp4 from LB even though I was hundreds of miles away in the Bay Area. As a motorcycle instructor, the students loved the HP4 and that always led to me to ask students to consider LB BMW, even though it was really far. (Because I was so impressed with LB BMW I still bought from them though I was living hundreds of miles away). I told so many students about LB BMW that some actually did end up buying from there, and there were also some that had actually already bought from LB and brought their bikes up North. The DMV had issues and sent out the plates late. So the "LB BMW" placard got a lot of attention as the HP4 went around and also stood out at the classes. So many of the staff and previous staff were great. I even had great interactions with David (now the manager). I don't know what happened to David. I've heard other customers complain about him. You can read about it in the recent 1 star yelp reviews. I brought his behavior / attitude to other staff and they said, "That's just David." I think they said he was in the Navy or military or something - and he just brought that kind of perspective and treatment into a customer service position. Rude. Abrupt. Condescending. Unapproachable. I wish LB could attract and maintain their customers 10, 20, 30 years. That's going to take some attention, priority, and focus though to Management's execution of customer service. I probably wouldn't have written this review. I thought that maybe David just hated me personally so I'd just leave it at that. But I felt something's not right with the recent Yelp reviews. I want to see LB BMW go back to its former time when they would get people to buy from hundreds of miles away - Bay Area. Or the other yelper "Z P" from Utah & Ohio. Wish you the best, David. Bought a 2023 BMW F750GS from Greg here a few months ago and he is as customer-focused as they come. Ultimately this was the smoothest process and experience of all the auto/moto purchases I've ever had. Please give that guy a nice Christmas bonus. ;) Just today though I was about to ride and the bike notified me that my rear tire pressure was at 11PSI. Inspecting it I saw a nail in the tread and immediately called BMW Motorrad Assistance. They got my biked towed to LB BMW Motorcycles and when I got there, Jeff helped me to get my bike up and running. And this was on the last day before they were going to close down a few days for the Christmas holiday. Jeff was able to squeeze me in their schedule somehow and now I'm able to ride this Christmas weekend with my boys. Great to see that there are folks out there like Greg and Jeff who go the extra mile to serve their customers. My review is based on my recent experience with the dealership on 10/8/2018 (not the service center). I, unfortunately, did not purchase the bike I was considering as I was given different conflicting answers from different sales associates. I originally started corresponding with Gaje via email last week on seeing a used motorcycle they have listed online. He was prompt with his reply and answered almost all of my questions and told me we could talk about negotiating a price (as I had asked them if it was solid or negotiable). I told him I'd come by and see the bike the following Monday if it was still available (he agreed to keep me posted). Monday came, I stopped by and looked at the bike then was greeted by Ron, who was extremely helpful and friendly. He admitted that he didn't know much at all about the bike's history and that another sales associate took it in on trade. I asked him as well if there was wiggle room with the list price and he said yes, some. So he went in and let my wife and I discuss the bike further. While my wife and I were speaking we found some leaks on the bike (maybe oil or grease) and a few oxidation/rust spots (some expected for an 11 year old bike). However one big issue I found was that the clutch pull made a really strange sound when pulled in, it didn't sound safe. David the general sales manager (part owner as well) came out and started the bike up for me, we spoke, I told him my concerns and his answer was that it's an old bike. Also, the seats had tears in the leather, but he said a shop down the street could repair it for $150, I asked if that could be added to the sale/negotiated and he said no. He then said he'd "rather sell the motorcycle at auction for the list price he could get then negotiate at all on the price". (quoted) End result being, they lost a customer with check in hand, unfortunately. I don't like bait and switch tactics and don't have time for 2 people telling me they could negotiate the price a little and another guy (who actually has the final say) telling me that there's no room for negotiation at all. Unfortunate they wasted my time on the 40 mile drive down to Long Beach but so be it. Maybe I should chalk their conflicting answered up to poor training or the sales manager having a bad day, who knows. Just to elaborate as I've been contacted by David via PM, what I mean by bait and switch is that I was told one thing (negotiation) could be done by two associates and then told no negotiating could be done by the actual person in charge. So by this I came down only because I was told the negotiation could be had on the existing price and there was told the opposite when I got there by the final decision maker. So maybe bait and switch isn't the proper term but certainly sounds better than lied to or decieved. I dont blame David explanation for this at all I just wish I would have been told that the price was solid/non-negotiable from the first email/phone contact and then I wouldnt have wasted time. read more

I showed up on a Wednesday to test drive an R1200 GS, and the salesman Mikey, was helping another customer but made eye contact to let me know he was aware that I was there. When he had a second, he ran over, said that I could sit on any bike I wanted and that he'd be with me shortly to set up a test drive. When I went back on Friday to make the purchase, they were fair with my trade-in and made the entire purchasing experience quick and painless! Service: Complete untrustworthy with extremely overpriced and very shoddy work, not far from being a complete scam. Unfortunately, got completely reamed here. An annual service (glorified oil change with "safety" checks), 2 new tires (one which was 7 YEARS OLD!!! when installed), some brake pads and rotors (also unnecessary and used crappy aftermarket Bikemaster rotors marked up 100% from regular retail, which is NOT OEM), brake and coolant flush, a new radiator fan (which was working just fine...replaced for no reason or maybe it wasn't replaced at all) comes out to a WHOPPING $2600!!!! I wish I were kidding, but I'm not (please check the photo attached). Take a look at the photo.. And to top it off, all this took several weeks, they were EXTREMELY rude, but more importantly returned the bike back with ZERO freeplay in the clutch lever, a maladjusted brake light, which they claimed to have fixed, and crucially didn't even offer a valve check/adjustment...only offered unnecessary and incorrect replacement of parts and service. It's obscene and I almost can't believe how outrageous this is. Sales: Not particularly helpful sales people with very little knowledge of the actual motorcycles they are selling. I saw a used lightweight BMW G650 Xcountry (350 pound curb weight) on their showroom floor with Harley Davidson Heavy Duty tires meant for 600+ pound bikes. The sales people tell you they will call you back and then never do....multiple times, claiming their busy. Yet when you walk in, they're twiddling their thumbs, doing nothing. Parts: The one time I bought an oil filter here (about a year ago), the guy was very nice and stashed it for me outside because I couldn't make business hours. A+ here. UPDATE: This business has contacted and complained to Yelp in an effort to remove my HONEST and UNBIASED review. So much for an ethical business. If you want to go to one of the shadiest BMW dealers in SoCal, welcome to BMW of Long Beach. It appears they have a long track record of doing this. Check the "removed" and "not recommended" reviews. Trust - something you need when handing over the keys to your baby. Thankfully, the team at Long Beach BMW has earned my trust after my first few interactions. After purchasing a R nine T from a private party, I brought the bike to Rich in the Service department and he guided me from that point forward. Only owning one bike prior to the RnineT, I was hungry for as much information as possible to make my ownership experience positive. The bike is a wonderful piece of engineering and I respect her greatly, therefore any knowledge passed along from the most respected source is much appreciated. Rich suggested I perform the 6k service before I reached that point due to my impending journey to Vancouver and back that would have me putting on nearly 3.5k miles. While I didn't intend to walk in spending 700 dollars, the trust I mentioned earlier was reaffirmed by knowing the best of the best would be working on her. My only suggestion to make my experience with BMW Long Beach any better is to recognize when someone is thirsty to learn and don't scoff at their excitement for the unknown. I'm the first to admit I don't know everything and I'm only trying to get better. Everyone I've interacted with at LB BMW has been cool, but there is a sense of pretension that is within spitting distance and my advice is that should be reserved for the BMW automotive dealers...riders are different....we're in this together so support the new riders and nurture their growing knowledge. read more

Very well organized showroom floor and inventory. Service staff are knowledgeable and take time to actually explain things to you unlike most shops. Sales staff are also very easy going and they don't push you in anyway and they just let you wander. I came in on a rainy day to look at helmets but ended up trying on a GS. Man oh man what a beautiful bike. I also got dangerously close to an RT. Beautiful and fully capable bike. No wonder police use these bikes. I could go all day on an RT without complaint. I've been in the market for a while now for another addition to my stable (sport touring and supersport), and on the list of considerations is the Panigale (Ducati), GS, and RT. Diversity is good. I enjoyed my visit and the feeling of how the staff treated me was very positive. It's difficult being a female rider (Asian at that) and to be taken seriously. I'm glad this location didn't treat me in the way that I've come to expect and for that, I will be back soon. read more
