Definitely a place to come if you're looking for a great beer after work (or while you're waiting for a table at au cheval, i hear). we lucked up and had seat since my friends arrived early. Our server was very attentive and brought us everything we needed - right on time. I had the Rye N Gosling, as well as a few of the Three Floyds beers on draft. Simply perfect! And i did appreciate the "overflow" women' restroom on the lower level. Only quip is the lack of "regular" bar food. a simple order of fries or chips on the menu would be great. but then again - i'm sure they want to differentiate themselves from every other bar on the map, so i get it. Had the pleasure of visiting the Lone Wolf the last time I was in Chicago. The staff was on point with pint and water fill ups. The only food I had was a cheese fry snack, it was french fries covered in cheese sauce and peppers, delicious.. 3 Floyd's Zombie Dust was flowing like water! read more

We were in Chicago on vacation and randomly decided to try Lone Wolf while killing time before a dinner reservation. Had no idea what to expect on a Sunday night, but two hours later we'd had a fantastic time. Low-key bar with a nice, fun group of employees and John the bartender was especially great. Very good craft cocktails and a huge whisky selection. They have some small bites including Chicago hot dogs but overall, I think it is a much better place for happy hour or to meet friends for drinks after dinner. read more

My favorite thing about this place is the floors. They are solid and will support even the heaviest weight. Some of these new bars, you fall right through the floor. Not this place. Good reliable floors. Would definitely return. read more

Besides the fact that this is in westown, this bar is really awesome. It was super crowded on like a Tuesday which is cool, and sucks a bit, but we were able to get a seat at the bar. The bartender made me a great fernet cocktail and with a whole bar full of people, he made me and my friend feel like we were the only ones there. I believe his name was Andrew, so Andrew I apologize for not writing this review sooner, but we had an absolutely exquisite time and thank you for your time, talent and hospitality. I'm surprised that reviewers are calling this a "dive bar." Lone Wolf's style was clearly inspired by classic Chicago dive bars but it must have cost a small fortune to achieve their faux-dive look. I was at Lone Wolf on a Saturday and the place was pretty packed. My friend ordered two of their signature cocktails and she was disappointed by both of them. The music was blasting pretty loud which was a surprise. It felt like we were in a club. This is a cool, cozy place. If they added a few more tables and turned the music down you could spend hours hanging out here. Maybe it's more laid back during the week. read more

Place is pretty cool and has Zombie Dust on tap so I know I will at least enjoy the beer here. Unfortunately, the biggest douche bag bartender has a problem of looking at me to take my order. Instead he looks away and just screams "GO" while clearing glasses off of the bar. Horrible attitude and looked like a grease ball with huge plugs in his ears. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Can't tell you anything about the drinks because we weren't even served. We sat down at the bar and were handed menus and then we waited about 15min till the bartender slowly walker our direction while the entire time his eyes glued to his phone and then proceeded to stand in front of us with his back turned towards us (still on his phone). My boyfriend jokingly said "Are they not going to serve us? Everyone at the bar is drinking water." So that's when I leaned over and politely told the bartender that we were ready to order............. I kid you not when I tell you... Hello Fellow Yelp User, Night after night, you have thrown on your flannel, trimmed your beard, put your favorite gauges in your ear holes, picked out the hippest vintage glasses, and tied your hair up in a neat bun, only to realize the bar you arrived at just wasn't hipster enough for you? Look no further! You've found your home at The Lone Wolf. But don't worry! You won't just fit into the clientele of this dimly lit hipster wasteland, you will also mesh well with the inattentive, non-responsive douche buckets behind the bar who can't be bothered to do their job. The bartenders at Lone Wolf look like failed lumberjacks from the 1920's who tried to start a garage band, but failed at that too, so they thought they would attempt to be bartenders. I assure you, it's all an illusion. The waste of space bartenders might as well not be there, as you will not receive service unless you are 'buddy-buddy' with them and also look like a bearded, denim jacket-wearing hipster train wreck. This bar is to be avoided at all costs. There are so many better bars a stone's throw away - Haymarket, for starters. Lone Wolf makes a pitiful attempt to piggy back off of the hipster cred of Three Floyds, and they should be ashamed. 3F makes great beer. I've made the pilgrimage to the brewery in Munster, IN. 3F should not be served in such an awful excuse for an establishment. You're much better off enjoying a brew anywhere else. read more

They have 3 Floyds on tap and delicious cocktails. What else could you want? I've been here about 3 times and its now one of my favorite spots. Wow! Three Floyd's Zombie Dust AND Avery Joe's Pilsner! I can't find these ANYWHERE in Chicago. Plus, the bartender Andrew was great!

I live in the neighborhood and was really excited to see a legit bar open up. If you're looking for someplace dark and low key to have a few drinks with friends and chat without a TV blaring a sports game this is your place. I've always had good service. Even when the place is packed, the servers come and check on you in a reasonable amount of time... i.e. when I'm ready to order another drink or snack; they don't hover which I appreciate. Speaking of snacks, the pleasant house savory pies are wonderful (chicken balti is a personal favorite) and the scotch egg with a little mustard is a go to for me. read more

We all went here for drinks after Au Cheval, as the snooty hipster waitress was getting edgy when we continued to order drinks. We were served by a very impatient waitress who didn't even give us time to look at the drink menu. We just picked some drinks out very quickly, and they were good, the service just was not up to par. I don't know why we had two poor servers in one night, a Wednesday, and the bar wasn't very busy. I hope Chicago servers aren't moving here from NYC. Can't be, if they were, they would be pretty. I would consider coming here again, however. Everyone has an off night. read more

We stopped in here while waiting for a table at a restaurant nearby. For this purpose, it served our needs incredibly well but I wouldn't really consider it as a stand-alone destination. They have a somewhat classic, refined atmosphere despite the outside appearance and sign. Those who appreciate craft beer will be happy to see a nice selection including many from Three Floyd. Most of us had a Zombie Dust and sat at a high top table. Service was on the slow side, but they were pretty busy and the ability to walk in and find a table at 8 pm on a Saturday night was huge! I can't comment on food as we only had drinks. The clientele seemed to be quite the mix of people as this placed seemed to have some people who made it their primary meet up point for the night and a lot of other people who were only briefly stopping in as we were on our way to one of the nearby restaurants in this busy part of town. read more

I had to wait for about 15 minutes for a drink. The moment I did end up getting a drink it was out of the kindness of a few people at the end of the bar who said hey let me let you in and so you can order a drink. There a lot of pompous ass bartenders there at this bar. There are a few redeeming qualities though. Kristina with AK is a wonderful waitress there and she deserves all of your tips. But beyond that, there is absolutely nothing redeeming about this bar. If you hear hipster as A description of the bar, most would a 10 degree with you considering that most of the bartenders have that kind of vibe. Only issue I had which isn't that big of a deal and I hope they enjoy their extra $3 tip they gave them self but they're lucky cause another person could make a huge fuss about an issue such as this. While at Lone Wolf on Saturday afternoon my sister in law took a seat at what she thought was an empty table, wasn't trying to cause any trouble but that's when things escalated. The patrons who were actually sitting at the table came back and my sister in law left I told them we weren't trying to cause any trouble but never the less one male threw a punch at my sister in law, shoved her, and punched another woman in the process. The security guards that were employed took their time trying to get this aggressive male away from us. The aggressors threatened violence against us and told us to come outside. We asked your security guards if they could escort them out of the bar as we did not feel safe. I specifically asked the security guards if they had left the area and were assured that they had gotten in an uber and left. Go figure, security lied to us and the aggressors in this situation never left the area. Security did nothing to help us feel safe. This is a bar that supports violence against women and does nothing to protect victims of assault. read more

Stopped in at Lone Wolf with a friend after having dinner in the west loop. We pulled up a couple of stools at the bar and ordered a couple of pints of Zombie Dust. The young hipsters sitting near us seemed to have drank a bit much since they were slurring and kept taking cigarette breaks. However it didn't last long, it wasn't a bother but more entertaining. The place is dark, grungy dive bar feel. The bartenders were knowledgeable when it came to craft beers. From Nirvana, to Radio head the music was at just the right volume. Perfect place to catch up and have condo over a brew. A definite neighborhood feel where you don't even have to be a local. read more

It was nice enough when they first opened . They used to have pleasant house pies . They don't have them anymore. We should have left after that. My boyfriend and I had about 4-5 old fashions each. We were in no way drunk yet. We weren't loud we weren't being belligerent in anyway. Just smooches and enjoying each other's company .
