After the install! Very professional, clean and fast installation.

I couldn't be any happier with the price of my system, the warranty, and the customer service Lonestar Water Services (LSWS) provided. They walked me through everything from choosing a system that works with my budget and explaining the process, install and the maintenance. I highly recommend going with Garrett and his team at LSWS! Night and day difference after having this installed.

Water softener with Carbon Filter and salt basin

My wife has been waging an all out war against hard water stains, especially when we lived in Hawai'i. She has trained me to squeegee water off our glass shower enclosure after showers and to wipe beads of water off bathroom and kitchen counters. She has used various commercial and homemade concoctions to combat these insidious hard water stains but it has been a losing battle...until perhaps now. Having moved to the Texas Hill Country where the water hardness level is between 14.4-18 grains per gallon, we knew we had a challenge at hand. With the Hill Country sitting on limestones and with hard water resulting from water percolating through deposits of limestone and chalk which are largely made up of calcium and magnesium carbonates, we resolved to tackle the main culprit...hard water itself. So I got on the Interweb and researched requirements for our household, what control valves to look for, solicited feedback from neighbors who've installed water softeners, and then finally on to Yelp to narrow my search for a trustworthy and quality company to install our water softener system. My research led me to Lone Star Water Services. I contacted Garrett months before we moved into our new construction home and in doing so, was able to take advantage of 2018 discounts for the system with 32k grain (suitable for households of up to 4 people) Water Softener with Clack valves, Carbon Filter and Reverse Osmosis (RO). Our builder for some reason was unable to drill a hole about 1" in diameter through the countertop for the RO spigot so Garrett provided some recommended plumbers who can perform the job. However, after getting seemingly outrageous quotes of up to $250 for no more than a 5-minute job to drill an inch hole through a quartz countertop, we opted to forgo the RO system and Garrett understood and adjusted the price. When it came time for the installation, Garrett remained flexible with our tight schedule and he installed the system in no time flat. In addition to the Water Softener, Carbon Filter, and Salt basin, he installed a water shutoff valve (to easily shutoff all water going into the house while allowing the sprinkler system to remain active) as well as a soft water spigot for using soft water to wash vehicles with. All in all, a very pleasant and stress free experience dealing with Garrett. Professional, responsive, thorough, and friendly, we would not hesitate to highly recommend him to family, friends and neighbors. Notes: - Fleck, Clack and Autotrol valves are the most popular non-proprietary valves (unlike Culligan or Kinetico which uses proprietary parts). Lone Star sells Clack systems but can install Fleck systems normally available online - The water softener can use potassium chloride pellets instead of salt for those highly sensitive to or concerned about salt intake. Potassium Chloride is a lot more expensive than salt pellets, however, and there's a miniscule amount of salt that gets into the soft water that it's negligible. - We had a soft water loop installed by the builder making the installation a snap. For those without a soft water loop, the installation would be lengthier and more involved. Make sure there's a power source where your soft water loop is. - For planning purposes, a 50-lb bag of salt lasts about a month and the salt basin we have holds up to 3 50-lb bags of salt.

Well it's clear why this place is 5 stars. Don't be surprised if you reach out and don't hear back for a little with all the business they get. I believe it was one of the owners that came to my house for the consultation. He looked at our set up and recommended the best way to hook up the system, and quoted us an accurate price. Everyone was really helpful and most importantly, they did a great job. The tanks themselves are very high quality and not an eye sore. They're not patented tanks specific to the company, so you can easily source parts from anywhere if you have issues and need to replace parts down the road. Highly recommend!

If you are in the market for a whole house water softner call Lonestar ! I got multiple bids and lonestar was up front did not try to up sale me on equipment and was reasonably priced compared to other bids I received . I worked with Garrett over the phone got a technician Russell to come out and within 4 days had my system up and running they also guarantee and service equipment for first 5 years ! Dont waste your time on other companies and i recommend lonestar water for anyone in the market for a softner. I'd like to thank Russell and Jacob for the install came out great!

Very impressed with Garrett and Lone Star. We ended up getting a softener and whole house filter. I received quotes from 6 companies for Water Softeners. This was not the cheapest system, but it was not the most expensive. The cheap systems seemed just that, cheap. Garrett's system appeared to be and is, a very high quality system and was the best value for quality vs price. He did not do aggressive sales tactics. Two companies refused to give quotes without speaking on the phone and getting their sales pitch, one refused to stop calling me for weeks after. Lone Star does none of that. He has straight forward pricing and facts. He will give you the facts of the system and the reasons behind the recommend size and options. He did not try to sell me more than I needed which other companies tried to insist certain bells and whistles were necessary. Installation was quick and easy. I appreciated being walked through how the system regenerates and when and how to change the salt. My son loves washing cars so the added soft water spigot we added on will come in handy. It is nice having drinkable water from all the faucets without the salty taste. The system comes with 5 years of yearly checkups included. Garrett even made sure to follow up to make sure the system was working to expectations. I would absolutely recommend Lone Star to anyone looking to get a softener system.

Braulio was straightforward, fair, and clearly knew what he was doing, which made it very easy to trust him. The first time I called, I was in full panic mode! Water from my son's shower was leaking through the ceiling downstairs and I was convinced something major was wrong. He came out quickly, took the time to actually figure out what was going on, and it turned out to be a much simpler issue than I expected. Separately, when I first bought my house, I had been told there was an issue with my fireplace and got a quote from another plumbing company that was in the thousands. When Braulio looked at it, he realized it was something much simpler and far less expensive than what I'd been told and this really stuck with me. This weekend my water heater went out, and I texted Saturday night expecting I'd hear back at some point. He responded first thing Sunday morning with clear options and pricing, no pressure, and is already scheduled to come out Monday morning with everything ready to go. He's responsive, honest, and efficient, and he just makes the whole process feel a whole lot less stressful. It's rare to find someone you can really trust, and I'm very glad I did.

After receiving a bid over $20k higher than two other bids from local plumbing companies I called to discuss. I asked for clarification to why the added cost and I was told to get another bid and go with someone else. They were trying to completely price gouge us for a 2,400 square foot house with the kitchen and bathroom completely at studs with no drywall and wanted to charge $35k to re-pipe the house. I would be very careful using Clearwater plumbing, that was an embarrassing price and when given the chance to walk us through their bid numbers they couldn't explain the pricing. Rebecca, who I believe is the business coordinator of some sort, took it upon herself to terminate a time sensitive install for a conflict that I am certain could have been resolved with a few minutes of open-mindedness and problem solving. I was fully prepared to pay for a qualified plumbers consultation, expertise and labor, and completely willing to accept additional charges to meet our goals. I am regretful to report that her behavior was dismissive, unprofessional, and outright aggressive and condescending after the slightest bit of conflict. While I don't mean to tarnish the reputation of, quite possibly, very skilled plumbers working under the Clearwater business name, I would recommend homeowners look elsewhere for a plumbing business model that provides more than simple straight forward labor projects
