A few days ago, I posted I had a state at a Las Vegas steakhouse and this state that I'm eating tonight was amazing. This is what a steak is supposed to taste like and cut Lonestar steakhouse here in Toronto is excellent. The service and the ambience was perfect. I felt like I was in Texas eating great beef.

Monday evening around 7pm. This place is full of people. It seemed very busy for a Monday night! However, I was able to get my order in and drinks/food out in no time. Very fast and attentive server. A little on the loud side but it was not an issue for me. Complimentary chips were super yummy. I had too much of them that I was half full before I started to get onto my main dish, fajitas. Steak fajitas, it was absolutely amazing. I did not ask for it but the meat was medium rare, which I would have asked for, came out still sizzling on the plate! Guacamole, warm tortillas, rice, cheese, cut lettuce and sour cream, everything was just perfect. I had to save some steak so that I could just have it by itself and it was amazing. One of the best meals I had in a while!!

There's something comical about eating "Texas" food in Ontario while being from Texas. The decorations are obnoxious, very over the top Texan but I like that they went all in on the decorations. Unfortunately the food left much to be desired. One of the exceptions was the pickle margarita. It sounded horrible in theory, but I couldn't resist ordering it and it was actually phenomenal. And the gator bites were actually quite tasty, and the chipotle ranch (?) they came with was also really nice and flavorful. The entrees though were awful. The "enchiladas" were hard, stale, and dry. The beans weren't even standard refried beans, they tasted like pork and beans?? My boyfriend described his sandwich as "mid". Service was so-so. Our waitress was nice, but then randomly stopped coming around. I saw her at a table across the way and it looked like she decided to have a shift meal. You do you I guess.. We were done eating though, and a manager had to close us out.

Place is a typical chain - relaxed atmosphere with a bar you can sit at. Staff was very nice and attentive. Got the steak fajitas - they were okay. Tortillas were above average and the peppers and onions were way undercooked. Overall, I thought is was way overpriced for very average food. It's okay for what it is.

Ambiance: fairly large place located close to the air port. Perfect for a game night as they have large tv's around the bar. We were seated in a booth which was very comfortable. Food: All tables receive tortilla chips with salsa, I decided to all try the queso. This came hot - melted cheese and chiili peppers, it was absolutely delicious. Fajitas - they have a variety of different meat selections. We decided to go for the grilled steak & buffalo chicken combo. This was accompanied with all the sides and warm tortilla. I personally was not too fond of the chewy fat pieces on the steak and chicken. There was definitely more onion on the plate than meat. The complete disappointment was the Churros - instant regret once I took the first bite. It was hard to bite and almost hollow inside, the caramel/chocolate sauce could not salvage these churros. Even the server could see the disappointment when I expressed how terrible these were.

11 oz top sirloin with broccoli, onion rings and a Caesar salad.

We came here on a Saturday night. The hockey game was on so the place was very busy and loud because there are plenty of TVs around the restaurant. We wanted to try to have a reasonably priced, decent steak instead of being gouged by the usual expensive steakhouses nearby. We were seated at a booth which was nice as we were not interested in the game being played on the TVs. Our server was attentive and friendly with a nice smile when she brought the complimentary nacho chips with salsa. We ordered the 11 oz top sirloin, medium rare. One with fries and one with a Caesar salad. The steaks were done perfectly and were served hot and juicy. The cut was not an expensive cut but the taste and texture were pretty darn good. I would rate it 8 out of 10 for texture and taste and 9.5/10 for value for money. Our drinks were well done ( a margarita and a double rum and coke, sorry Julian came with me ). The server ensured we were well-plied with drinks, way to go! We will come back often. I like this restaurant very much and would recommend it without reservations.

Big restaurant by the airport stuffed with tourists and business folks staying at nearby hotels. Staff seemed a little confused at the reception. Sat at the bar while waiting for my table. Rider was very friendly and served me my beer. They sat me in a tiny section which of the restaurant with a low ceiling and a tv. I felt boxed in. My waitress was friendly and busy. I ordered the fajitas which seemed much smaller than the picture. Most of the meal lacked flavour. I was a little disappointed.

These hours are official. Unofficially they stop serving food way earlier

They stop serving food whenever they want if it's slow. Seemed real irritated that I was walking in. Friday night totally dead at 11pm. Heading over to Arizonas

Mushroom & Veggie Fajitas

In town for a couple days and decided to try it, there specialty is fajitas, a very large selection of fajitas & they make their tortillas fresh. I had chips, salsa, cheese dip and mushroom and veggie fajitas w/ rice. Pros: restaurant was nice, decent ambience and the staff were all very friendly, I really had a pleasant chat with a couple of the staff. Cons: surprisingly the only real con was the fajitas, remember this is what they're claim to fame; like I said I had the mushroom & veggie fajitas and they were not good! They had an extreme amount of onion, 80%+ onion (see pic) and a very very sparse amount of mushroom, even though mushroom was in the name! They had ZERO flavor, bland, bland, bland! A little salt and pepper would have gone alone way! I can't say these are the worst veggie fajitas I've ever had but they're definitely in the bottom 3, what a disappointing waste of $23! I debate 2 or 3 stars but aside from the fajitas it was alright and I suspect if you order something other than the Mushroom & Veggie fajitas you might have better luck. If I return; not likely, I will order something else and update this review.

Dirty Nachos

We went to the Lone Star Texas Grill restaurant in Etobicoke because we had some gift cards and their downtown location was closed. The restaurant is located close to the airport and among other steakhouses. The restaurant was large and decorated in Texas style. Service was friendly and efficient. We started with the dirty Nachos dish. The dish was huge and could have fed 4 people. It was good and tasty. We had the calamari and it was okay. The fajitas dish was diy meal where you assemble the fajitas. It was tasty. Would we go back? I doubt it since it pretty far and the food while good was not outstanding. We can get the same food at any other sports bar.

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, vibrant, welcoming , colorful décor, lively music, and the comforting aroma of fresh tortillas. The food is the real highlight. The tacos were packed with flavor, the meat perfectly seasoned and tender, and the salsa had just the right balance of heat and freshness. You can tell everything is made fresh, from the guacamole to the house-made sauces. The portions were generous without sacrificing quality. Service was friendly, with staff happy to explain dishes and offer recommendations. It felt less like dining out and more like being invited over for a home-cooked meal. If you appreciate bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and authentic recipes, this restaurant absolutely delivers. I'll definitely be back.

Topping comes on the side and you build your own. Also comes with grilled onions and jalapeño. In my opinion I prefer the tacos over the birria because the beef in the birria wasn't as tender as the suadero taco. Chips are on the house. Table has three types of hot sauce/salsa. They also have halal options. Spacious and free parking on site. Service was quick and friendly as well

It was late, but this Ruth'sChris was still open. We didn't have reservations so the bar was the only option. It was fine since we could order from the regular menu. Acacia was the bartender and our server. She was fantastic, upbeat and great attitude and service. She also made my daughter a really tasty mocktail. The steak and food we had was delicious as it always is at Ruth's Chris. This location was dimly lit and had the old steakhouse feel, nicely decorated for the holidays. The food and service were fantastic, I would definitely return again when I'm in the area.

When spending almost $600 for a meal for two, all factors must check off. This establishment is located in a nondescript building near the airport. The interior is modern and clean but lacks charm and pizzazz. After having a bit of water before food arrived, we were brought an additional $9 bottle of water without being asked if we wanted one. We normally don't drink water with our meals especially when we order a $120 to $140 bottle of wine. This is my only complaint. Waiters should not assume! The tuna was probably the best of all items we ordered. It was divine! The steaks were very tender, moist, and piping hot - must be the 500F plate they serve it on. The potatoes gratin and mushrooms were way above average. Excellently prepared. There is limited parking and if you park at The Holiday Inn it can be a long walk to the front doors. All in all, it was an enjoyable evening with the most delicious food!
