Temporarily they were allowing self serve, which most everyone chose. I never understood that. In every other aspect of our lives, people want service. They order fast food, go through a drive through rather than going inside. Sometimes too lazy to drive so have it picked up by Uber And pay a fee. They order groceries for pick up. Yet when it comes to gas, they want to stand out in the heat or cold or wind and pump their own gas? Just don't get it. While I don't order delivery or go to drive throughs, preferring to cook or eat at non fast food places, I happily let the gentleman at the station pump my gas! Even happier to get 20 cents off per gallon because of my points. I'm happy to live in a state where people pump my gas for me! I'm from NJ originally, where they also provide this service. Actually have never lived anywhere that didn't provide this service, it that it's one of my requirements! But I like it. The experiemce here was great. Plus the guys hanging out in there were entertaining themselves by listening to a police scanner. But it's the customer service that really stands out. On my way to a pig roast, I went to Angel's Bajery downtown, who always has trays of the molasses pig cookies. Not this day! So I did a search for Mexican Markets which led me to La Michoacana, a bright yellow building further up in a neighborhood. I found bags of mixed pastries up on the top area, but no bags of just pig cookies. The bags were only $10 each, but I couldn't justify buying 6 bags just to get a few of the desired cookies. The young lady working that day said, "give me a minute." Then she came back with a bag of the cookies, after taking all the bags apart and rearranging the packages so that I could buy a half dozen cookies. What? Now that's service. So of course while I was there, I loaded up on pantry items, tortillas, bought the carnitas and some fresh tamales, plus the cookies. Her helpfulness resulted in me making a much larger purchase than intended. When I brought the tray to the party, everyone thought it was a genius idea - so cute, pig cookies at a pig roast - and after I told the story, everyone asked for the name and address so they could support this business. And I now support them frequently. 5 stars all the way!

Then we discovered we were supposed to pump our own. The silver lining to our experience is during our wait we realized they were charging $3.94/gal. for unleaded, (the Shell station across the street was under construction), so they had a monopoly at this on/off ramp and we're taking advantage of it. We drove off, went down the freeway to the next exit and filled up for $3.54/gal. The people were super nice, restrooms were clean, and they even washed our windshields.
