This is such a cute cafe tucked in such a walkable area of Charlottesville! The area makes for a workable location for remote or school work with little to no distractions and plenty of space to spread out!

Stopping in to try this cafe, I am reminded of the fantastic pie shop that used to be in this location. The cafe that replaced it offers beverages and apparently food, though when I stopped in they had only a single croissant on display. I sampled a hojicha; they seemed to think they knew the pronunciation of this word better than me but I'm a tad skeptical. The resulting beverage had some roasted tea flavor, but this wore off rather quickly and I was surprised that it wasn't a stronger flavor. Hojicha is not a subtle drink. This is a sit-in cafe but it was cramped and full and not the most welcoming so I continued on this my day. I liked the old pie place better.

This isn't the place to come if you are looking for a pour over or single origin syphon... when I came they just offered one blended drip coffee and a bunch of lattes... However, if you are looking for a place that serves the single best vanilla ice cream... this is the place! It is absolutely amazing! The desserts and even savory pies here are the reasons why you come to this cafe. The coffee and lattes complement the main course and that is the desserts and savory pies. It's a beautiful shop and the owners and workers are friendly and welcoming!

Vanilla latte

Amazing Coffee!! We both got vanilla lattes! Wonderful and talented baristas! Great vibe! Relaxing atmosphere and very clean. Will definitely go back.

Iced decaf vanilla latte! Very yummy.

Reunion has been a breath of fresh air - really good espresso drinks, pastries, and breads. To be 100% honest, Crucible's coffee is better, but their pastry selection is minuscule and they can feel a bit stuffy. Reunion's pastries are good, though I wish they had more French-inspired things like pain au chocolat, croissants, or even soft cinnamon rolls, but I feel they excel more at the breads side of baking. I got a mini sourdough loaf once and it was excellent! Service is always friendly and happy, and the shop itself is cute, but there isn't much space inside. I'm all for tables outside, but there's not much real estate there either, especially on a busy morning. I think a small adjustment to flow could make it easily sit a couple cafe tables inside without it feeling so crowded. I just miss the days of being able to hang out and have good coffee and snacks while doing some work on a laptop. Seems like most businesses would rather have you out the door instead. I have high standards for bakeries and cafes, and Reunion meets most of them. They're now my favorite place to go in the mornings in Staunton... if they're open. I would go there much more often if I could actually eat my breakfast there instead of having to get back in my car or sit in the blistering summer heat.

Flavors we tried: vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, raspberry white chocolate cookie dough and vanilla with strawberry icing and chocolate shavings (not sure of the actual name). All were very tasty, but for me, the highlights were chocolate (excellent), red velvet and vanilla, just amazing, all moist with the right amount of icing. Really want to come back for other flavors. The staff member that helped us was so friendly and helpful. She let us know that it's a good idea to buy in advance as they sell out quickly. She wasn't kidding! When we came back after lunch to pick up our cupcakes that we did buy in advance, some of the flavors were completely gone! So if you know what you want, get it right away.

They are a small batch bakery so their flavors do sell out throughout the day so I recommend getting their early if you don't have a pre-order. Service is quick and staff are very helpful. Small tables a small selection of gift items in store. Cute little bee mural. The cupcakes we have purchased have universally been moist and the frosting has always been the perfect texture and not overly sweet. My husband particularly enjoyed the maple bacon and our guest loved the M&M cookie dough (even the cookie dough tastes homemade in the best way). We know what stop to make when we have guests now!

I asked her to make Texas sheet cake, of which she'd never done, and she discovered there was a chocolate and a blonde recipe out there. She made both, not know which we preferred, and also added a few other cupcakes to add color and more flavor to our assortment - all of her own doing and not asking to charge us extra. We gladly compensated her for her sweet thoughtfulness and for treating our daughter's wedding as if it were thing she had on her plate. She's delightful, dependable, and took our daughters wedding personal to make it a beautiful presentation. We travelled back to TN with the few left over desserts and I seriously have hidden them to eat them myself. Highly recommend. She's very responsive and a pro and her sweet husband helped with the delivery.

The chocolate cupcake was fluffy, moist, and evenly filled with chocolate ganache. The peanut butter buttercream frosting was one of the best I've had; not overly sweet and was not at all gritty! The individual boxes that the cupcakes came in were a wonderful, unexpected touch. The process for ordering and picking up the cupcakes was effortless. Brenda, the store owner, was a sweet woman who took my phone call with excitement. She walked me through her flavor profiles and gave me an affordable rate for a half dozen cupcakes. I ordered approximately 5 days before I needed to pick them up with no issues. I even gave her an approximate time I would pick them up at and she made sure to have them ready by then. On pickup day, I drove out to her home which was minutes off Route 29 (behind the CVS on Moore Rd.) Her home, including her kitchen, were immaculate and very, very clean! Just a wonderful experience all around! Please consider giving your business to a local baker!
