Had a couple of street tacos, a chimichanga, and chips and queso. The tacos were just okay; the meat seemed dried out, and the lime was such low quality that there was no juice when I squeezed it. The chimichanga was really good, though, and the queso was the white cheese I love to see. Service was okay. No one talked to me for five minutes, and I had to get my own menu, but whatever. Still better than I expected for a mid-sized city in the Midwest strip mall.

Upon initial entry, it was nice and bright (comparatively to the other Mexican restaurants in Quincy) which is a nice change. Almost reminds me of the Mexican joints back in SoCal. Anyways, we were greeted by a pleasant young lady who was super nice and attentive. I took a stab and asked if they had horchata.... by golly they did!!!! I believe the only Mexican spot that serves it other than the food truck. It. Was. Delish. We ordered al pastor tacos, chimichanga ground beef, and cerviche. All was quite the meal. The food came out pretty quick and hot. Oh yeah, they give you chips and salsa to munch on while you wait. We arrived around dinnertime. It wasn't crowded when we first arrived; however, it filled up pretty quickly. Note: if you park in the back, you have to walk all the way around to the front door entry. Overall, we were quite pleased with our experience and will return for lunch service as they have 5$ dollar holler meals!!!

The service was fast and the staff was so friendly and attentive. We had some chips with salsa. Which was good. I liked that they give out little bowls for individual people so you can double dip and not have to worry. So they have margarita towers for $29.99 and you can have a pitcher for $16.99. I was tempted for the tower but we didn't need that. I wanted half strawberry and half mango frozen. It was pretty good. They give you a sugar rimmed glass with it. For the main course I ordered a chicken chimichanga. They overloaded the plate with rice and beans, guac and way too much sour cream. I loved the rice and beans that was my favorite. The pico de gayo was good. My guacamole was a little on the darker side. As for the chimichanga, I was not a fan. The chicken was too chewy for me and very bland. I was not a fan of that. Next time I'd like to try something different. Overall we had a great time.

Whether you're traveling on the road or local, I would definitely recommend El Nopal.
