Picked up takeout from here for my mom after she had surgery at Blessing Hospital just up the road. I thought, for being in Quincy, it definitely exceeded expectations. Had a couple of street tacos, a chimichanga, and chips and queso. The tacos were just okay; the meat seemed dried out, and the lime was such low quality that there was no juice when I squeezed it. The chimichanga was really good, though, and the queso was the white cheese I love to see. Service was okay. No one talked to me for five minutes, and I had to get my own menu, but whatever. Located off the main drag (Broadway) in a small shopping center. Public lot available for parking. The food and staff never disappoint! This is a semi-small dining space, so when it's busy, you will have a wait. A small bar area or bench is available. This is a family favorite and we have enjoyed getting to know the staff. read more

First time at Taqueria Arandas and it will be a new go-to spot for me! Service was excellent and everything was quick - perfect for lunch. I ordered a steak street taco and two pork al pastor tacos - I asked if they could add pineapple to the al pastor and they came out so perfect and full of flavor. For a place with the name taqueria, meaning specializing in tacos, you'd expect them to have decent tacos. Also says Authentic Mexican food. Fooled me because I'd rate their tacos 3.5/10. The asada taco was mid. The pastor was above average maybe a 6/10. And the cabeza was the worst taco I've ever had in my life. I took one bite and was like ahh Hell nah. Their salsa's were nothing like authentic Mexican salsa's. I was served a salsa verde tomatillo base, like for real? Trash I asked for another salsa and they brought some chili sauce also trash. As someone who has family in Texas and visits on a regular basis a "taqueria" that served these tacos would be out of business in a month. Needless to say I won't be going back to this spot for tacos. read more

This was my go to joint for authentic Mexican tacos while I was living in Quincy. I loved how they had different types of meat other than steak and chicken. Their cabeza was flavorfully and tender! My tacos even came with chiles toreados. The salsa was homemade, flavorful, and spicy. Wish their corn tortillas were homemade though. If you're in Quincy and want Mexican tacos, then head to Taqueria Arandas. They also have a good truck in an empty parking lot a few blocks down, but they are limited to certain meats for the tacos. Hands down the best place in Quincy for Mexican. We have been regulars at Arandas basically since it's opening and have stopped going to most other Mexican restaurants in town. Food is always great, staff is fantastic and even when it is busy they always try to get you seated as quickly as possible. Completely forgot to take a picture of my meal but had the carnitas tacos. My other stand by is the Arandas Plate or Paella. All so good. I wish their restaurant was a little bigger but I understand wanting to keep it smaller and well run. read more

I have eaten here 3 times, twice for dinner and once for lunch. Their lunch portions were right sized and are perhaps the best deal in town, in and out for ten bucks, including a 20% tip. Most mexican restaurants in the Midwest are cookie cutter representations, it is hard to tell one from another. Burrito Jalisco in one place is the same as in any other.. Arandas is a half step above the others as far as the freshness and combinations of ingredients, if you've had it elsewhere, you can find it here, but most of the entrees have a bit of a twist to make it unique: adding chorizo, queso or some other ingredient to make your old favorites just a bit better. Asked for a chimichanga. I got a Chimichanga looking like a burrito. You deep fry chimichangas not wrap a tortilla around meat and call it a day. The guy said he had shredded beef. I got ground beef. They call this authentic Mexican food. I feel sorry for the people in this town. Stuck eating gringos Mexican half made food. Sorry but if it would've came out deep fried or would've had my shredded beef inside. This would've never been written. read more
