I love this facility! I visit Lompoc frequently and always bring my swim gear so I can hit the lap lanes. The woman on Saturday mornings at the register is always courteous and helpful. The lap pool has 10 lanes, so I've never had to split a lane and can swim at my own pace. Plus, they have a total of four pools to accommodate everyone from toddlers to seniors. I would swim there daily if I lived nearby. read more

Wonderful place to spend time with the kids or grandkids SUPER CLEAN and the staff so helpful and nice

They have a manager by name Mike, he is unprofessional, uneducated person who doesn't have any skills of CustOmer service or working with employees. the pool users already new him as a bad person ( we spoke with a few locals), the employees were not surprised when We said we are going to complain about him. my grandkids were scared of him, he didn't let me and my daughter to talk to kids while they were waiting for kids time. they didn't let us to pay for kids same time we were paying for us (adults can start earlier). I had to take a towel, stand in that place shaking to pay again for my grandkids. ??????? and this is all because of "ugly police " manager. by his face you can tell he is not people's person. read more

For the lap pool they switched to a shared-lane reservation which means you may be sharing a lane with another person that you may or may not know. Having to share a lane which was designed for one person originally, is a real negative and prevents me from using the pool. I really wish they would go back to the way it was before they introduced this lane-sharing. read more

My sister and I both have bone structure injuries that we have been dealing with and have been looking for new ways to exercise without re-injuring ourselves. We saw on Lompoc's City Instagram that this location has a Warm Water Leisure pool for adults with injuries or mothers with little ones. We LOVED it! The water is about 90° and they supply pool noodles of different kinds for whatever exercise you choose to do. I can't kick my legs to swim at the moment, so I just floated around, however it was the most relieving feeling to give my legs and injury a break from gravity compressing on them and just feel weightless, especially with the warm water! They staff is very nice and there are lots of life guards on duty. They have a splash pad area for kids, a lap pool, and 2 water slides as well. How can you enjoy hours of playing in the pool if you have 2 hours per day, and for $3.00 to get in. If you would like to learn how to swim, they can teach I guess pretty much everyone from a toddler to adult age. The bathrooms are not well-kept, you can see dirt on the floor that looks like it was not cleaned for days or maybe weeks. The bathroom stalls are not clean also. The floor is always slippery, I think it's the kind of tiles they used, liability to the city when something happens. Pooling of water on the floor is not good. I think the management is doing a good job. I don't see chaos each time I go there. I think the swimming instructors are doing a great job. I saw this kid today who's not listening to the teacher, and the dad was just watching this insubordination. Not cool. The teacher showed his patience and professionalism. Kudos to Patrick, he taught my kid many session times already. My kid became good in swimming in a short period of time. Literally the nicest thing in Lompoc. It's a clean and new facility with two lap swim areas, a baby pool/therapy pool, and a kids area with a jungle gym type thing. I love that one of the lap pools is warmer than the others. Sometimes I am just not ready to jump in the cold one!! It's nice to swim a few warm-warm up laps first :) They are a little bit stingy on hours. If they had more availability I know it'd be a hit with more people. Especially the military folks who work strange hours, and restaurant/bar guys too. You can enter the pool as a non-member during very very very select hours. Other than that you could join YMCA for pool access or purchase the monthly slash pass. Overall a great place and I love going there. read more

My entire family enjoys the "rec swim". Two hours is the perfect amount of time to swim, slide and play. It's 50% less than going to a movie and we're getting physical activity. My daughters and I attended a private birthday party for their friend. My younger daughter wasn't paying attention and walked into the deeper part of the pool where she couldn't keep her head above water. One of the life guards was quick to notice and jumped in, calmly helped my daughter back to the younger side of the pool. She was amazing because not only was the party uninterrupted, but my daughter stayed calm as well. read more

Love it here! Growing up it was a fan fav almost every weekend we would come, we moved but still make the drive to now bring my daughter and nephews. They had a blast! Couple of slides for the littles and a couple big ones for the older kids/ adults. Great place for little kids to play on the water slide. My kids 4 and had no trouble navigating on his own and loved it! Classic family feel to the place. Teenagers with whistles watching that no one goers hurt. Overall excellent experience...the only thing is the limited hours are strange, wish there were more hours of play time available. Here on a Saturday. There is no parking, been waiting in a line for 30 minutes and the session is only 2 hours. We are still not in. I can say that I have never been to any public pool facility that was this inadequate in the way it is run. While in line, not one staff member communicated with the line that went around the building what was going on, nor did they address their obvious parking problem even though they had the ability to unchain a fence that would lead to far more parking. Went here for a kid's birthday party. I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and features of the facility. It doesn't cost much to become a member. Plenty of stuff for little kids to do in the indoor water feature / "playground". Plenty of attentive lifeguards. Not even one band-aid was spotted in or near the pool areas. No hairs. Nor any garbage. Even the locker rooms/bathrooms were clean. Good parking. Overall, a solid place. I recommend that parents check out their swimming classes. We went today and had a really good time but there are a few things that need the managers/owners attention. 1: the schedule is really complicated.. I'm sure there's a reason but we got there at 5 for Rec swim and had to wait until 7pm to go on the waterslides. 2: the therapy pool was cloudy, full of bugs and several times while swimming I got some random hairs on my fingers (gross). But I needed the warm water and was doing therapy swim and laps. 3: your rules say "no horseplay" which is a great rule. However, it's your staff that does a lot of the horseplay. Everytime they change stations I would see staff lifeguards/ co workers scare the person they were relieving, squirt them with water guns or try to throw them (and sometimes the chair they were sitting in) in the pool. I get it they are teenagers but after 3 hours and frequent rotations it grew to be really annoying. 4: takes the cake...as we were leaving there was a young blonde girl working the front desk who was not too helpful. I'm saying this nicely. I asked her about the passes and she said oh "you mean the monthly pass?" I ask, "is there any other pass offered" her, "No except to pay every time you come in." Me, "well that's not a pass is it?" Her, "well I don't know how much they cost you have to call the parks and recreation dept". What a waste of a conversation!! I also needed my Mom (who is in a wheelchair) to come get the smaller kids. My brother came with her and was pushing her. They were not in swim attire and clearly Weren't going to swim. My Mom misses out on a lot of outdoor activities because of her wheelchair and while she was there picking them up anyway, she just wanted to see the kids swim for a minute and go down the waterslides..not even 5 minutes in the pool area. That same blondee, long haired girl was very rude, gave a shitty grin and said they could not go in unless they paid. They both looked at her like "are you serious?" My mom is in a wheelchair. What is she gonna do roll into the kiddie pool or wheel down the slide after she managed to get up all those steps?? This was after 730pm on Tues night and all the other pools were closed. She charged them 9 bucks each for 5 min! Unbelievable..I didn't find out that she did this until we met up for dinner later on or I would have demanded to see a manager and get their money back. That was completely unnecessary! Other than these issues, we had a lot of fun and it wasn't too crowded this time. You really could use some better staff. I'd be happy to work the front desk. There's no reason to give handicapped people a hard time and make them pay because she wanted to see her grandkids swim for a few minutes. They even waved at her when they came out letting her know they were being honest (not even 5 minutes later because my Mom couldn't stand the humidity in the facility) but the girl did not care. I gave only 3 stars because she really ruined it at the end. I would really like a manager to contact me. The facility itself is really awesome and our town is lucky to have it.. read more

After spending countless hours at this place over the last couple of years for family swim time, kids swimming lessons, and kids birthday parties, I just have to say that this place is great. Love that I can go here with my kids no matter what they weather is like outside because it's enclosed. Some of the roof panels retract so that when the weather is nice they open them up. Lucky to have such as wonderful facility close to home. I have nothing but positive things to say about the facility itself and staff. Everyone has been professional and polite at this facility and that says a lot because I've been coming here twice a week for about the last 2 years. read more

I would have given it a 5 because Lompoc aquatic center is amazing. It has something for everybody, every age and every fitness level. What bothers me is that the lifeguards are either inadequately trained or are too young to know what is appropriate behavior. However I am giving it two stars because of the inexperienced staff. (I have now revised to 3 stars because of a lifeguard named Oliver, see below) *Today I watched as two old ladies got out of the warm water therapy pool and changed out of their bathing suits into their street clothes just feet away from the lifeguard. They attempted to shield with a hand towel but it did not help as they were quite ample. The kids in the pool behind them were shielded from nothing. The lifeguard was completely out of touch with what was going on in her surroundings. I asked her why she found it appropriate that they would take their clothes off right there in front of everyone when there was a changing or bathroom just feet away. She said that she was preoccupied with watching the 4 people in the pool and did not see it. I asked her if it was part of her job to ensure that people act appropriately and that the kids are protected from having to see things like that. She said yes but she didn't see it because she was watching the pool. It is not very comforting to know that if any of these older people stepped out of this warm water therapy pool and fainted or had a heart attack feet away from her she would just sit there and do nothing because she was not on point enough or trained enough to be looking for it. * The staff refuses to enforce their own rules. The low impact/ low activity warm water therapy pool is for people who physically need the therapy. Yet the staff allows people to bring their rambunctious children in there. *The other day I watched as one of the lifeguards went up to some very small children and reached down in the water and would splash them over and over. The kids didn't like it, they didn't provoke it and they were tiny little children. it was just unnecessary. He should be very grateful those were not my children as that bully would've ended up in the pool. **REVISION- I am at the Aquatic Center many days in the week and as I work out I have the opportunity to watch the lifeguards. Many of them just sit and rotate with the others but this young man named Oliver is so motivated and pro-active in his job I felt the need to change my review. When someone hired this kid they made a very wise decision and should make another wise decision by having him train all new hires. He is so versatile he sees the importance of being on point when the special needs kids are in the pool. Yet is laid back and converses politely with the seniors while squatting down so they can hear him. He is able to distinguish when people are inappropriate and is not afraid to approach people who are out of line. He keeps himself busy putting things away and cleaning up and will walk over and helps people with their pool equipment as they exit the pool. Wow this man deserves to be noticed and commended by management. read more

Nice facility, but this is why I rate it only 2 stars: Cash or check only. There is no info anywhere that states this, except for a computer typed sign at the front entrance. This is the 21st century, really? Ok, so we had a $100 bill, except wait: no bills over $20 accepted. Had to leave and come back. They make you pay for non swimming adults. So they charge each adult $4, to sit on an extremely overcowded bleacher for two hours. Seating is awful. Make sure you bring your own lounge chairs. Open swim hours are so short, for such a great facility, you would think they would accept cards as a form of payment, and extend swimming hours a litttle. The place is great, just the management, city, or whoever is in charge of it should really reevaluate their service to the community and change a few things, as I see many complaints about the same issues. read more

A clean and well-run facility for all ages. I can only cover the offerings for adult lap swimming. Not all pools are staffed all hours, but Lompoc is a small town. Lap swimming is available most of the day,in a 7-9 foot heated pool (not too hot) plus for the older crowd that needs a slightly warmer pool, a 3-4 foot fool is staffed late mornings. Locker use costs an extra 25 cents. Since Lompoc weather is cool, all the pols are inside. read more

My son had swim lessons here . It was kinda expensive It was $100 for 5 lessons but the instructor was so nice and patient with my son .The smell was so strong that it would make me cough but what do I expect . It's very cute place with a little playhouse and water slide. read more

My kids love this place. The kids play area is fantastic. It accommodates all ages too except infants of course. My kids ages are 15,11,&8 and they all have a great time. The lifeguards there are stern which keeps the place safe for everyone and there are always a sufficient number of them watching. If it didn't cost me $20 every time I go I would definitely go more often. read more

One of the nicest things to do in lompoc. The price is reasonable 4.00 for adults and 3.00 for children. They do only accept cash or check no plastic. The seating around the pool is ample for non swimmers although FYI everyone regardless of swimming or not is required to pay. They have a nice area for younger kids and larger slides for adults and teens. In addition to the traditional water park play they have a large parent child area for adults to work with younger kids. The pool is busy probably due to the very limited hours they are open. The pool was clean and the locker rooms were average. The locks on the lockers several at least half broken and not user friendly. The staff members were friendly at the front cash register and the life guards were really nice and kept the water slide lines and child play area moving along. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the very limited hours open and lockers needing repair. Overall great place to take your family on the weekend. read more

LOVE this place. Very clean, lots of attentive life guards and it's spread out enough that even when there's a lot of people it doesn't fell crammed. The water play area is so fun for the little ones. They even have two large slides. For $10 me and both my children played and swam for 2 hours. That's a GREAT deal. We had a birthday party here and it's completely inexpensive to privately rent this facility and they provide the lifeguards in that cost. Cheaper than a party at Chuckee's and way more fun. Looking forward to going back. Sure beats Paul Nelson in Santa Maria. My only complaint is that they need a larger changing area. It's jammed packed after the swim session. read more
