I really had a blast checking out all the decor and elements at this park! It fits right into Solvang's Danish theme! By the way, Solvang translates to "Sunny Field(s)". If you are in downtown, it would be better to drive to this park. It's not in the main touristy area of Solvang. We drove out to the park since it's about 3 miles away. There is free parking, playground, picnic areas, sports fields, walking path, & restrooms. This park is unique! I planned to come see it for myself when I came to Solvang on Jan. 17, 2026. Every aspect from the entrance sign to the playground is filled with Danish decor! I was intrigued with the mosaic clock tower out front and the embedded elements in the walkway. The playground is awesome! You walk through the windmill to the slightly raised decking. I checked out the neat painted wood panels, each with cutouts for your face or body. Photo Op time! There's a castle with towers, slides, tire swings and regular swings, rubber rope to walk across, rock climbing wall, monkey bars, rings, and more! More specific Danish themed items at this park are a Gingerbread House, Puppet Theater and Viking Ship. They're so cool! There's also a Tot Lot for 2-5 year olds and adult supervision is required. The play houses and a wagon for climbing are in this area. It also has spring ride-on animals and 3 baby swings. There's a picnic shelter with a Santa Maria style grill. It's perfect for grilling lots of food for a large group! The restrooms are just beyond this picnic shelter. They are each accessed by their own door. I prefer this style rather than the multi-stall restroom. Whether or not you are a kid, kid at heart, have kids, or have kids with kids... come check it out! I think you'll be happy you did!

A lot of fun, even for beginners. There is a website with etiquette tips and a map of the course that you should check out before heading out. Some of tees aren't that well marked for first timers, but we found that others playing the course were very happy to help us out. Bro-tastic!

It's one of those courses where wow it's beautiful, so happy I did it, but man I never need to experience it again. Overall, was a bit disappointed with the upgrades they'd done to the dog park. It is fully fenced and has completely separate small vs large dog parks which is good. But for the amount spent, I was expecting there to be a much larger grass areas and generally a bit larger of a park for the large dogs. The grass area in the large dog park is in the middle and the majority of the park is actually bark and small rocks, which isn't great for the pups' paws. There are benches throughout and water stations for the dogs which was good to see. They've added some obstacle courses for dogs to play on, which was fun. However, I strongly disliked that I saw folks come in to bring their kids to the dog areas and obstacles like it was a kids playground (which clearly it is not). Generally, from what I have seen thus far, most dog owners are friendly and self aware of their dogs' behaviors which is always great to see. Nice upgrades overall just was expecting a bit more but that's okay. Still a great place to take a walk and enjoy the lake views or go to the dog park!

All 3000+ of us come and set up camp here for one day. There are large rolling hills, a pond, a pirate ship, and even a disc golf course! On a lovely June day we can all lay out in the grass and enjoy the sun. Last year we even had a giant slip n slide on one of the large rolling hills. It's a beautiful place to come visit every year.

Wow! This is a park with a capitol P! Amenities galore for your $5 parking fee…read more We came here for a 4 mile hiking loop that spits you off along the ocean which is awesome. As we were heading to park we discovered a 9 hole disc golf course is also on property. I'm telling you this park packs a punch. Disc golf, hiking trails, baseball fields, mountain biking wonderland, Remote Control tracks, landing zone for drones/radio planes, so much to explore! We hiked then did the 9 hole course for disc golf and it was awesome! What a gem to have for those who are local. The hiking trails take you over the road to Douglas Family Preserve which was beautifully maintained and allowed doggies to be off leash living their best life. Such a great local resource to take advantage of all that sculpted nature! Beautiful effort from the community.

This park boasts two playgrounds, a water splash area for the kids, tennis courts and an awesome 18 hole disc golf course. There is a dog park as well for the furry family members. Shaded picnic tables for gatherings available. The only downside is there is often a large homeless population drinking in the park at the benches, however they keep to themselves. Come here with the kiddos or just enjoy a great round of disc golf!
