Really love the burgers here. Anything with beef is a win at this location. They source the beef from a nearby ranch. They also make their own kimchi with non traditional veggies. They also have a music stage outside and events for special days Pros: The burger was really juicy . The reuben was also really good. Almost no wait time. Really quaint place on Sunday morning. Ample Parking. Cons: Matcha latte was bit slate Restroom is a porta potty

It takes a bit of effort to find this place and get to it, but it's worth a quick stop at the very least! Just over 6 miles further down the road from Pescadero lies this small establishment which has been around since 1930. The selection on offer is not large, but there are a couple of interesting things which I hadn't seen elsewhere such as a Malvasia Bianca canned wine from Monterey. I also grabbed the last brownie because I can never say no to brownies, as long as they aren't the kind that have an obnoxious wad of chocolate frosting on top. Thankfully their brownies are not that kind and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't loaded with sugar either! Light, somewhat fluffy, not overly sweet and packed with chocolate goodness. Just the way a quality brownie should be! Keep in mind that they have certain hours at times when the kitchen is not open, so if you're looking for hot food, you may need to plan your trip accordingly. We proceeded to go hiking in Butano State Park afterward, but they were hosting a community dinner that would've been fun!

Welcoming and super friendly at the counter. They had live music out on the deck and the parking lot is a wonderful alternative to the perennially overcrowded Alice's. The food has no business being this good out in the woods and honestly I think what you get and where you get it, they should have a 1 star or at least be on the recommended list. A standout not just for their location being a stones throw from Pescadero beach, but the vibe this place has. They even have free wifi! I'm for sure coming back.

First time visit to this gem amongst the trees. A beautiful drive to get here which attracts car enthusiasts such as my husband. Quaint, delicious food, including baked goods. A lovely place to hangout and enjoy nature with outdoor seating plus there's an indoor living room type area to relax and read a good book. We enjoyed our very reasonably priced sandwiches (chips not included). I ordered a Rueben and liked the fresh cabbage versus the typical sauerkraut. Very filling. Will make this a regular driving destination for the food. Less crowded than Alice's Restaurant and just as good.

I've spent the past two weeks commuting back and forth between Daly City and Santa Cruz. Today I decided to take a leisurely ride home up the coast. I've spent too much time in Pescadero and San Gregorio to count, so after a quick stop at Swanton Berry Farm, I made my way to Loma Mar for the best Reuben I've ever put in my mouth. I'm from NJ and have eaten at the original locations of every iconic New York Deli--even those that have shuttered after decades. Katz's, Stage, Carnegie, Junior's...I'm a pro. This is not your usual NYC Reuben. It's a thick slice of hot, crunchy-ended, indulgently fatty corned beef on liberally buttered and grilled rye, with a molten slice of Swiss dripping down the sides. The sauerkraut is clearly house-made and crunchy--not flimsy. The *Ukranian* dressing made me extra happy. I washed it down with an perfectly tart unsweetened hibiscus tea. I devoured most of it before remembering to take a picture. It was *that* good. The worst thing I can say is that it took 15 minutes for my sandwich to arrive, but I spent the time outside enjoying the last bit of sunshine before it sunk behind the redwoods, and bought a sticker from their cute little store. There's also WiFi since cell signals are scarce in these parts. My first visit to Loma Mar will not be my last!

This place is a delight! Cozy historic cabin, recently and beautifully renovated, nestled in the middle of the forest. A great mix of cafe and meal items made with high quality, often local, ingredients. Husband said their Rueben sandwich is the best he's ever had. Staff is super friendly - very strong local neighborhood hangout vibes. We haven't been to many of their special events (live music, etc) but they host quite a few, and sometimes have special items on the menu for those occasions (eg a special Valentine's Day dinner). Definitely stop by if you live in the area or are enjoying a day trip to/from the coast.

Such a cute stop! Got the eggs and potatoes dish on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely recommend!

Love the atmosphere. It has that lovely cabin vibe with good food. The drive here is always a wonderful site. I got a ruben, breakfast croissant, and hot coco. My friend got chicken noodle soup, duck bowl, and hot coco. The ruben was delicious, all the flavors were balanced; would definitely order again. The breakfast croissant was also delicious; I found it to be a light meal. Loved the hot coco, it had a nice foam on top and was not too sweet. A good all around hot coco during a cold day.

Loma Mar Store & Kitchen CA Thur 10/20/22 © Humans! Life's all about personal experiences you get & places that create warm and welcoming ambience for great times to be had! Let me tell you one such amazing place is shaping up right here in the midst of the Redwoods! Thanks to Kate & Jeff, who are transforming the old historic post office & general store into a gathering place for locals & passersby! Next time you're inclined to head to the Pacific shore, enjoy a stop in Loma Mar whilst traveling a rural road! And let me tell you folks, this is a place to be! Let's jump into food straight away, I know you can't wait to hear it! Especially if you take a long drive over the hill from Silicon Valley. Do you think I could go without a nice bottle of red?! Never happens LOL. On Kate's suggestion, selected a robust Cab cellared and bottled by Montpellier vineyards, vintage 2017. I absolutely had to partake in sampling of amazing goodies from Kate's extensive menu, in addition to my Yelp Elite event experience (Leftcoast Grassfed Burger 16.95 + Kale salad 8.50). Couldn't stay away from a bowl of hearty, meaty Ham & Lentil Soup, made from scratch with the best ingredients. The secret is in simplicity! There's a Special that Chef cooks only on Thursdays & Fridays from 5-8pm, Chicken Cordon Bleu, if you're in luck to be there in late afternoon, hang around and ask for it! I observed locals come just for that! Limitations create demand! Served 3 hrs & only Thu-Fri. Catch it if you can! :-) As darkness set in, my mind veered onto dessert & sparkly! A warm homemade fluffy almond pastry and Prosecco, of course! Much needed R&R afternoon turned into a pleasant evening! Enjoyed my chat with Jeff & locals so much, I barely had enough time to head back into my Silly Valley for a tech meeting:) - Cabernet Sauvignon | Montpellier 2017 Napa Aromas of blackberry, plum, raspberry, cherry, & toasted oak. A mélange of black fruits on the palate wrapped in a cherry pie filling core. Melting tannins like bittersweet chocolate in the back of the mouth, very gentle smooth finish, $25 - Ham & Lentil Soup, hearty & piping hot, house made with organic ingredients $11.50 - Chicken Cordon Bleu $22.95 Crispy breadcrumb-crusted chicken wrapped around thinly sliced ham and melted cheese. White wine cream sauce and asparagus. Served Thursday & Friday 5-8 pm only. Kate sources local produce and provisions whenever possible, many leafy greens are products of Kate's farming! Fun fact, the 100% Grassfed beef comes from the neighboring farm owned by Tom Steyer who's name might spark your memory of the presidential campaign in 2020. I've always loved Pescadero area in the Santa Cruz Mountains, have taken the Alpine Rd & Pescadero Creek Rd to the ocean countless times. An epic treat on a Thursday in October, terrific experience. The unique and amazing rural feel of La Honda and surrounding communities could only be described as wholesome and awesome. Alpine Rd & Pescadero Creek Rd are a wavier, windy route rivaling Hwy 84 on your way over to San Gregorio / Pescadero stretch of the beautiful Pacific coastal shoreline, south of Half Moon Bay and north of Santa Cruz. Taking a scenic detour via Loma Mar is absolutely fantastic! Owners Jeff and Kate Haas purchased the store several years ago, after a long time previous owner retired. They completely reimagined the place, with gracious help of the rural community, involving local expert craftsmen and builders. I sure hope the store can become a destination for Silicon Valley's tech crowd, as well as a local staple for close knit community of Loma Martian's. All homemade food is prepped right here in the beautiful new commercial kitchen and bakery, tasty burgers and soups, sweets and savories, plus well stocked grocery section and your general store vibe offering local crafts and gift items. Loma Mar, a small town of only about 150 Loma Martians, in the midst of the redwoods, is centered around Loma Mar Store & Kitchen, which has been renovated & opened just before the pandemic in 2019. Repurposed lumbar and local materials were used throughout! Local Harley Farms supplied wood stain, made from goat milk, for the ceiling boards. Old growth redwood tree, removed from the side of the old structure, was used for the decorative ceiling. Paolo my friend, how did you come up with this fabulous idea? Thanks, man! Cheers! *5 AM, the moon went to sleep Your friend speakin' in tongues in the back seat Just one little glance, I know what you mean somehow We're stealin' moments, moments away Why are we just not as good in the day?
