They recently pulled up to a brewery near me, and we were excited to give them a try. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired.
First, there was no standard printed or digital menu on the side of the food truck no longer. Instead, they had a hard-to-read dry-erase board with NO PRICES listed; strike one. We waited patiently in line for about 15-20 minutes (even though we were first), and when we finally got to order, we politely asked if we could substitute carne asada or barbacoa for al pastor on the smothered fries since we don't eat pork.
We received a curt and rude "No!, We don't do substitutions!" I laughed and replied kindly that we just don't eat pork, then turned to walk away. Suddenly, the same person leaned out of the truck and yelled, "Ok, I can put shredded chicken tinga on it!" I laughed again and said, "No, thank you. You already said you don't do substitutions." Others were in line now and said "Wow that was rude how he said that to y'all."
We ended up going to E&T Thai nearby and had an amazing meal, then returned to enjoy the brewery. As we sat, someone next to us mentioned they paid $40 for three tacos and smothered fries and weren't impressed. He said the tacos had barely any meat, and the fries were overly greasy. Not great value.
Honestly, I'm glad we walked away. The rudeness and lack of flexibility saved us a lot of money and disappointment. Based on our experience and others' feedback, we won't be trying this truck in future sightings.
Please do better -- a little kindness and clarity go a long way. read more
