I had the pleasure of attending a school event today for my son's end-of-the-year party. Lolo was there early and prepped for the dozens and dozens (hundreds?) of excited children eager to get their treat. The children raved about how yummy their treat was and all walked away with big smiles. I even heard a few parents comment on the perfect texture of the ice. They were great today! Went to a school event today, waited in line for over 45 min. Approached window and was turned down due to not "having correct change". First of all, Lolo's is Hawaiian SHAVE ICE S-H-A-V-E ICE!!! S-H-A-V-E ICE!!! SHAVE ICE!!! Not "shaved", there ain't no letter "d" on their business card or truck. Obviously, people can't tell the difference because they can't read the F**KN sign on the truck. OPEN YOUR EYES GRASSHOPPERS N GET IT RIGHT!!! Lolo Hawaiian Shave Ice is authentically fluffy and is made from ginormous blocks of ice. This has gotta be one of my new favorite spots in Fresno. They are a mobile food stand aka food truck, roach coach, well you get the picture. Unlike other shave ice businesses around here, they tote around unique syrup flavors, such as Lihing Mui (a fruit native to Hawaii and has a similar taste to a fresh ripe watermelon), Coconut (if you enjoy coconut water, this is as refreshing as the product!), Melona (modeled after the South Korean melon-flavored ice pop), and Dreamcicle (like an orange or citrus cream pop). To be honest, I tried all their unique flavors! I even took one for the road back to San Francisco. I was a bit creative, so I asked them to mix the Coconut, Lihing Mui, and Mango flavors together into one for me. Boy oh boy was it deliciously refreshing, but it was unbelievably soft! The shave ice itself weren't like a Taiwanese style shaved ice or Korean style Papingsu, however, by itself it was SO F**KING AWESOME!!! They have a great variety of flavors, so if you can't decide on what to order, ask the owner, Todd, to whip up something for you. You can also hire Lolo to host a venue too! I cannot say enough good things about Lolo's! First of all, the customer service is beyond top notch! They are friendly and super personable. I have worked been a customer, worked in partnership with them as a fundraiser for multiple non-profits, and hired them as caterers for my daughter's birthday and look forward to many future endeavors.
