You can tell they are fresh because items are stocked up and looked and tasted fresh. Everything in the containers are tidy. There are quite a few variety of different frozen yogurt flavors, I got the salted caramel and that hit the spot. I topped it off with some pistachio and other items, so very good. Of course husband and our two toddler got their own order as well. Let's just say it was the perfect cold treat to have in a warm sunny day. Inside it quite nice, bright colors with their cute frog mascot. The restroom is nice and clean for guest. They have different cup sizes for you to choose from. We had a great experience, thank you.

There's definitely something for everyone. Prices seem very reasonable for how much you can customize your cup, and the place is clean and easy to navigate even when it's busy. There are a few tables inside and a few outside, which is nice on warmer days. Outside they also have a couple games set up, which makes it especially fun if you're visiting with kids or just want to hang out a bit longer. Overall, it's a great spot for a sweet treat -- casual, family-friendly, and perfect for dessert or an afternoon stop. We'll definitely be back!

Handel's Home Made Ice Cream - Praline Pecan (medium) is three scoops of utter deliciousness. (Graham Ventral Station & Salty Caramel Toffee are still our faves!)

Some of their flavors like their rocky road and French silk pie are delicious! While others such as the graham central station are good but left more to be desired. The customer service is almost always on par. Extremely helpful, even though they can get very busy! Also, this place is usually PACKED. I have no issues with finding seating but expect a line out the door and for it to be a bit loud inside.

I was delighted to learn that Handel's Homemade Ice Cream has opened a location here in Fresno. I…read moreused to frequent their Santa Ana shop when I lived in Orange County, so this feels like a welcome addition close to home. With a legacy dating back to 1945, Handel's has spent over 70 years perfecting its craft. They are known for making their ice cream fresh daily on-site using a proprietary, high-quality cream recipe that results in an exceptionally smooth, dense texture. Their commitment to premium ingredients, generous portion sizes (at least 2.5 scoops per cone), and a rotating selection of over 100 flavors has helped them earn a loyal following. Portions here are notably large--so much so that the four-scoop "sampler" is easily shareable between two people. The flavor selection is equally impressive, ranging from classics to creative options like Buckeye, Graham Central Station, and Blue Monster. That signature richness, thanks to their heavy cream base, is what sets Handel's apart--but it can also be a bit much depending on the flavor. For me, some varieties lean a little too heavy, which makes their lighter options especially appealing. My personal favorites include Strawberry, Pistachio, and Coconut Pineapple, along with their sherbets and sorbets, which offer a refreshing alternative. If you are in the mood for something fruit-forward with a touch more indulgence, the Orange Dream Cream and Banana Cream Pie are excellent choices. I am glad Fresno now has a Handel's to call its own. If you have not been yet, it is well worth a visit to experience how their traditional, small-batch approach delivers such a uniquely rich and creamy ice cream.

I've been to all three Ampersand Ice Cream locations in Fresno, including the spots on North Marks,…read moreNorth Echo, and East Shepherd, and every single one has been consistently excellent. In my opinion, Ampersand has the most creative and consistently delicious ice cream flavors anywhere in the Fresno area. They have a strong lineup of staple flavors that are always available, along with rotating monthly flavors that keep things interesting. Some of the staple flavors include Madagascar Vanilla, Dark Chocolate, Honeycomb, Bordeaux Cherry, Rocky Road, Mint Chip, Chocolate Chip, Strawberry, Peanut Butter Chip, and Whiskey Caramel Swirl. The monthly flavors are where they really get creative. As of May, they had flavors like Ube Coconut, Fior di Latte, Bananas Foster, Birthday Cake, Honey Rose Pistachio, Miso Sesame Brittle, Pim's Cup Sorbet, and Strawberry Balsamic. I also appreciate that they offer vegan options every month, and even one of the staple flavors, Peanut Butter Chip, is vegan. Their website clearly lists allergens for all flavors as well, which is helpful for people with dietary restrictions or food allergies. They offer a lot of different ways to enjoy the ice cream too. You can get cups or cones, single through triple scoops, pints to take home, milkshakes made from any flavor, and even flights where you get four smaller scoops to sample different flavors. They also have toppings and waffle cones available. The staff has always been friendly at every location I've visited. The shops themselves aren't huge, but most people are in and out fairly quickly. They also keep water available for customers and have restrooms on-site, which is nice. Weekend evenings can definitely get busy, especially on Fridays and Saturdays, so expect a short wait sometimes, but it's absolutely worth it. Parking is also generally pretty easy at most of the locations. If you're looking for genuinely high-quality ice cream in Fresno, Ampersand is one of the best spots in town. Highly recommend.
