Damn, I've been sleeping on Colorado Grill!…read more Their food truck came to my kid's school carnival, and after the single slice of pizza that came with my ticket, I was naturally still hungry. I ordered the Mile High Burger, and it was incredible, messy, and worth every sauce-filled, drippy bite! The Mile High Burger features two large patties topped with cheese, brisket-cut grilled pastrami, a secret sauce, and grilled onions. This massive pile of food packed amazing textures and flavors into every bite. No skimpy brisket portions here; this thing was thickly stacked, and that secret sauce (I think it's spiced-up BBQ sauce?) was practically drinkable! The menu offered at the carnival seemed limited, but based on their online menus, their brick-and-mortar locations have tons of options. They offer over 20 burger styles, chicken sandwiches, chili dogs, veggie burgers, and breakfast sandwiches, just to name a few. Looks like I have some foodie work to do!

So it was a big disappointment today when driving over half an hour to get bad bbq. Starting with the good, the hamburger patties were the best meat in the meal. Followed by the tritip which was on the Mac and cheese. The brisket on the burger was really dry. It needed bbq sauce to get down. The ribs looked like they were cremated. I know some people dig "bark." But there was more bark than meat and the ribs were tough. The potato salad was pretty bland. And the Mac and cheese was as well. Even tge bbq sauce seemed plain. It was just a bad experience for as much as we spent. Maybe if they were closer id try again. But at between the distance and price, we won't be back.

My husband and I drove in from Fresno to eat here. We got here even before they were open at 11 and…read morethere were a few people in line already, so we figured that was a good sign! We were really looking forward to dining here and wanted to like it, but left disappointed. My first gripe with them is they do not have a posted menu anywhere but at their window, so you basically don't have access to the menu until you get up to order. It was our first time so we had no idea what we wanted. I felt rushed once it was our turn to order. Secondly, the food itself is underwhelming. We got the 1/2 rack of ribs, potato salad, BBC burger, and the tri tip mac and cheese. Upon opening the container with the ribs, I was immediately disappointed. Their bbq has very thick bark on it, as in the whole entire rack of ribs looked like it was cremated! There was more bark than there was meat, which made the majority of it very dry. I threw half of it away. The potato salad was undercooked and just meh. It didn't have much flavor. The BBC burger did have plenty of the brisket, but the brisket was also dry. My husband said the best part of it was the beef patty. The tri tip Mac and cheese was edible, but nothing extraordinary. They threw on some meat, bbq sauce, and canned jalapeños. Overall, we spent $50 and drove 40 minutes for bad bbq. We love supporting local businesses and don't mind spending our hard earned money on good food, but this place was not it. Many people seem to like it, but if you've had good bbq, you may agree with us!

When we arrived, we were the only customers, and in no way were we greeted right away. Once we placed our order (two original, one with steak), there were 5 other patrons after us. As we waited (almost 15 minutes with no apology and no update on the wait time), we began to realize our order was taking quite some time for just two originals, and I even questioned if he was making everyone's orders at the same time as ours - YEP!! I was RIGHT!!! The second he handed us our orders, he called the people behind us too for theirs bagged and ready to go. He didn't apologize to us for the wait, he didn't thank us for our business - NOTHING!!!! THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We will never return. It takes two seconds to apologize to a customer for their wait and thank them for their business. Stupid us for thinking he'd complete our order first since we were first in line.
