***NO STARS*** BEWARE!! I can't even begin to tell the world how disappointed I am in the service…read morerendered here. Actually, to label what I received as 'service' turned out to be a major disappointment and an abysmal disservice. To add, I have since learned that the person responsible for this is not licensed to do business in the state of Illinois. What a shame to be operating illegally!
First of all, I booked an appointment for a full set acrylic nail enhancement on a Friday evening, based on a referral from a friend. Even though she was on the phone the entire time while 'dis'-servicing me, I walked out of the door satisfied as my nails were visually appealing and I thought she'd understood and met the assignment. Less than 24 hours later, 3 of my nails began lifting at the cuticle. I reached out to Mari via text to make her aware. I received an IMMEDIATE RESPONSE from her asking me to come in the following Tuesday for repairs. By Sunday morning, I had 5 nails that had lifted!!!! I had no idea what was going wrong. I did nothing out of the ordinary of taking a shower and washing my hands. It was very painful as my nails were snagging on everything (hair, clothes, etc.). However, I trusted she would stand by her work/product. I then informed her of the additional nails that had lifted and the pain I was experiencing. Tuesday could not get here fast enough!
To set the tone a little clearer for you, in a matter of less than 72 hours, half my nails were lifted at the cuticle. I couldn't explain it, nor could Danita's Divas. She claimed not to know what could have gone wrong. However, by Tuesday, I just wanted to get this over with - not to mention I was headed out on a critical business trip on Wednesday morning. Now keep in mind, I shared she was on the phone during the whole time of my service - major distraction - and that was totally my fault for not asking her to free herself of any distractions. It seemed unusual and unprofessional, and she offered no explanation for why she had someone idly sitting by on the phone via FaceTime. I was a new client and, again, was simply trusting the process that she knew what she was doing. Here it goes y 'all!!! I went back to the establishment for my repair appointment. Mari was a NO SHOW! Can you believe it????? No warning text or call to let me know she had no plans of making good on this. I was livid!!!!! More than anything, I felt robbed, violated, and disrespected for obvious reasons, as I have noted above.
I immediately called her to try to find out what in the world was going on! NO ANSWER! I had to determine a plan B quickly and found a reputable establishment to clean up the mess Danita's Divas made, and it cost me out of pocket additional monies. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE NEW SERVICE and the fact that the establishment understood my pain and provided a little more background and that Mari was imply being careless and neglected to put primer on my nails at the onset - she missed a major step - and if she did she must have used old products. The plot thickens, Mari proceeded to text me at midnight on Wednesday morning - (how rude on the timing, right?) to inform me she was 'going through something' and that if I didn't hear from her I should assume something was wrong. Um yess - your entire thiyght process for one! She then proceeded to text that she would try to get back to me later that afternoon to let me know if it's possible to come in that day and the time I could come. How unprofessional!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And at that point, I don't have time to keep waiting for broken promises. Again, I am a professional woman with responsibilities and a whole life - not to mention WEDNESDAY DID NOT WORK FOR ME!!! ANNNNND I'M THE CUSTOMER!!!
Bottom line, I filed a claim with Chase Bank and just wanted to get my money back and move on. Mind you, I'd just paid for another full service!!!! Chase provided a temporary credit back to my account, and within one month, Danita's Diva's disputed the claim, and Chase removed themselves, deducted $72 from my account, and awarded it to Danita's Divas. They based their decision on the fact that I'd authorized the transaction because I was in person and that I needed to take it up further with the merchant. I have reached out to Danita's Diva's (Mari) in an effort to resolve this and to simply collect my refund. No response from the establishment. In addition to the reviews I am now posting, I have also filed a BBB complaint and will also seek legal action through the Attorney General's office. Did I mention she's not licensed in the state of Illinois? I'm pretty sure I did. Let that marinate....and all of this nonsense over the principle of the matter and $72! Oh, whelp - YELP!
I really hope this review helps the next victim who may want to do business with an unlicensed nail tech.
Disgruntled.
