I'll admit, I wasn't too sure when I walked in because the customer service wasn't there. However, once I sat down, both ladies that were there were nice and engaging. It was a very pleasant appointment. Kee did my nails and did a great job. I've had my nails for 2 weeks and they look like I just got them done. The prices were great too. My only complaint is that the website and the door say that walk in's were welcomed but on a weekday afternoon there were only 2 nail techs and they both had clients. I waited about an hour and a half, which I had no problem with. A woman came after me and they suggested she come in tomorrow. It was 3 pm on a Wednesday but the door says they're open until 8 pm. I know now that an appointment is necessary. The walk in thing is what make the chop shops appealing especially for women like me with up and down schedules. Overall, it was a good experience and I will be back.

Regarding my visit to LP House of Beauty, 19810 Torrence Avenue, Lynwood, IL 60411 on April 9, 2022. The environment is pleasant, quiet, and relaxing. There were only four people in the shop, Linda, her visitor and me and my granddaughter. About an hour later the visitor left. I gave LP House of Beauty one star for the environment and my first impression of Linda. Everything after that was downhill. Because Linda's the only nail technician in the shop we had to take turns. The cost of two pedicures and manicures was $175 plus $28 or $30 tip, can't remember which. We were in the shop well over 4 hours. We both received regular pedicures that were ok. The manicures started off wrong. I requested a regular manicure. Linda's shaping and grooming of the nails (like removing hang nails, cleaning cuticles, etc.) NEEDS A LOT OF WORK. Our nails looked like we shaped them. Moving on to the polish stage, Linda started out using regular polish on my nails but she switched to a no-chip polish! Why or when it happened, I didn't know until she sighed loudly and said, "I made a mistake!" She admitted that she had switched to the no-chip and continued to use the no-chip polish saying she wasn't going to charge me for the no-chip. She also admitted that she had done the same thing with another customer. My granddaughter requested a no-chip manicure. She gets manicures more often than I do, and she was immediately dissatisfied with how Linda shaped and cleaned up her nails and how she applied the no-chip polish. As her nails dried you could see that Linda had not applied enough coats of the no-chip polish. Instead of being a vibrant yellowish green color it was brownish yellow. In the more than 4 hours in the shop, not one other customer showed up. That should've been a red flag! Two days after receiving service from Linda, my no-chip polish begin to chip. I spoke with my granddaughter, and she was having the same problem along with her color looking faded because not enough coats of polish had been applied. I called Linda and she said the nails would chip because she had applied the no-chip and regular polish on my nails. (I thought, why didn't you be honest and just redo them at that time?!) I told her the same thing was happening to my granddaughter's nails but she didn't want a redo. The truth was that she didn't want Linda to touch her nails again. Linda said that I could return for a redo. A day later, I returned to the shop and Linda did my nails again with a no-charge no-chip manicure. I tipped her $10.00 for the redo. About three days later my no-chip nails begin to chip badly. I had never experienced this kind of trouble with a manicure so I was getting very frustrated. I called Linda again and told her that since she tried and failed to remedy the problem I just wanted a refund for both manicures since my granddaughter was having the same problem. I sent her photos of both manicures. But, Linda refused to issue a refund. She said she had a No Refund policy. I told her that I never saw a sign in her shop, she said it was online where you book appointments. I told her that I paid for the services but that I never booked the reservation that was handled by my granddaughter. When I asked my granddaughter about the No Refund policy, she said she never saw it online. Here's why .... LINDA ADVERTISES HER BUSINESS ON SEVERAL SITES BUT SHE DOESN'T HAVE A WEBSITE SPECIFIC TO HER BUSINESS. I SEARCHED AND FINALLY FOUND ONE WEBSITE THAT SHOWED A NO REFUND POLICY NOTICE BUT THAT NOTICE WAS AT THE END OF HER MANY SERVICES. TO KNOW THE POLICY EXISTED, YOU'LL HAVE TO READ THROUGH ALL OF HER SERVICES. I FOUND SEVERAL OTHER SITES ADVERTISING HER BUSINESS BUT NONE OF THEM SHOWED A REFUND POLICY. Since my granddaughter said she never saw a No Refund Policy, she may have been on another site to book the appointment. I explained that to Linda, but she became annoyed and said she would not issue a refund for the two manicures. Also, she stopped responding to my texts and calls. I thought I was being fair in giving Linda another chance to correct her first mistake by allowing her to redo my nails. For the redo, I tipped her to show my appreciation knowing that my granddaughter was unhappy with her service. However, Linda wanted me to return for a second redo to fix the nails chipping! I told her no, I didn't see the purpose in trying a third time. That occurred around mid-April 2022 and that's where we ended. I apologize for the lengthy review, but I really want to stop others from supporting this shop. I'm always enthusiastic about supporting black-owned businesses so I was ready to become a regular customer at LP House of Beauty, 19810 Torrence Avenue, Lynwood, IL 60411. But I can't support subpar black businesses any more than I can support any other subpar business establishment.
