Be very careful with this shop. One of the nail techs said that they deliberately dig into clients feet with dead skin remover to mess feet up if they feel like the client is giving them a hard time. However, this not true. There is straight discrimination going on by this shop towards the Black Community. This young lady does it to all Blacks and laugh about it with her male colleague. Horrible! I arrived without an appointment right about 10:30 am there were a few patrons already seated for service, so I was advised it would take approximately 10 minutes for me to get started. This was perfect for me as it gave me time to get a color selected. Right on queue I was called to begin my pedicure the young last providing me service today was Miki. She started my coffee pedicure ($45) and I attempted to explain to her, I just completed one of the Foot Peel Masks that you find on Amazon, so my skin was still peeling off, on the sides & top of my foot. I asked if she could use a pumice stone to pay extra attention to get the rest of the peeling completed. This had to be requested 3 times. The 4th time I had to provide visual guidance. Moving on, remember, I had to wait 10 minutes to get into the chair, as other patrons were being serviced. I find it unsettling when 2 people are getting pedicures prior to me getting started, I am receiving the same treatment as one of those, and the other appears to be getting just a standard pedicure but I'm completed before them both. This just signals to me that you are doing a rushed job & the streaks in my polish were proof. Next, when I went to get my nails started I asked for the second time (first when I entered) you offer Gel X nails correct? To which she confirmed for the second time but proceeded to pull out acrylic. It took multiple conversations in another language & finally a different tech to come over & explain this service is not offered. We proceeded to get my manicure completed & after she was done with the filing & what she considered to be shaping of my nails. I asked if she was comfortable with the way my nails looked. She responded with your nails are short, which they are but that does not mean when you are done shaping & filing they should be slanted. At this point, I had already lost all faith in this establishment & trust that Miki actually wanted to provide an experience to make me want to return so I just asked that she proceed accordingly (so I could get as far away as possible). Lastly, my eyebrows, don't know how or why but never in all my years of waxing have I broken out with small bumps all over my eyebrows after service but somehow here we are. So let me start off by saying, Nail Works was a nice nail shop and my nail tech Tuan was awesome. I was getting the "dip" by SMS. Tuan made sure that he used the whole complete system on my nails and my nails looked amazing. The last time I was there, I was charged $10 (my last) to soak off. I had been loyal, great tipping customer. I had not been back since. Here it is two years later, Tuan has moved on, and I returned during my birthday week and got the "dip" and a few days later my nails (more than three) chipped badly. The young lady who had to repair Peters' work did not match and at the end of the day I am saddened that most of these nail shops miss the integrity and good work that will keep a good paying customer coming back. The "dip" should look natural, not like one is wearing a acrylic overlay. Sigh...... read more

Nails were done horribly wrong that I didn't even let her polish them. Then everyone act like they don't see the problem but sending everyone over there to look at them. My mother loves the attention and detail from all employees, including their very humble owners. I absolutely have to say this is my last visit. They are at their best on slow days however during peak times I have been treated as just a number. Mother and I went in together for mani pedis each. It was busy so they took mom first. This is an updated review! Do NOT let the older lady that works there do your nails. She wears glasses and has terrible English. She was too slow, too rough, and ruined my dip it manicure. I've been getting dip it there for a year, so I know how it works. The dip it was still bumpy even after the final file down and top coat. I'm pretty easy going about a mistake here and there but EVERY last nail was bogus. I showed her the mistakes and she went back to correct them. She was def in a hurry and wanted me gone bc I wasn't 100% dry and she proceeded to massage with the oil. SHE SMEARED up my wet nails. At that point I was done, the owner Mike was not there but I showed what she did to Tuan and I told him that I wasn't paying $35 for that bs. I soaked off and left. Let us talk about this piss poor work that I received to sum it up: 1. I came in on a Saturday got a fill in. The guy, Victor, who did them did not know how to file. My daughter got her nails polished at 2pm by 8pm at bath time they all came off in the bath water. 2. One of my nails break on Saturday night and on Sunday we are back in the shop. 3. Monday night one of my other nails break. And one breaks on Tuesday morning. 4. We come back on Tuesday and the nail technician has the nerve to have an attitude because Tuesday I'm back for a repair but with a different nail tech. They give piss poor customer service, the wait is entirely too long, it is young lady in there by either Tina or Lisa she's rude and highly offensive. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! I was greeted right away and seated shortly there after. It was Monday afternoon/evening and not terribly busy. I got a dip manicure and a regular pedicure. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They soaked off my manicure while I was getting my feet done (very smart and time efficient). No mechanical drill use at all. The acetone was warmed up! How thoughtful! Went 6/22/2017 for a full set and pedicure service. Upon walking in the establishment had a line of people who had been there for almost an hour or more waiting for service. Some chose to leave and come back but I got there at 6 and didn't feel like turning back. The receptionist was very nice and made sure that myself and those that stayed for service were taken care of. When it was my turn I watched how they set me up for my pedicure... All bowls are lined with the pedicure sanitary liners which is something that I haven't seen anywhere else. Sandy (pedicurist) was very sweet and made sure that I had everything thing within an arms reach. Her conversation and attentiveness make you definitely want to come in regularly. Jason the manicurist was very attentive and laid my nails the way I wanted. The location closed late that night due to clientele and the owner was nice, attentive and made sure we all left satisfied. My cousin and I came in on a Saturday morning for a pedicure. I knew by it being a Saturday, we might have to wait, so we decided to get there before the doors opened (10am). By 9:45am, the parking lot had at least 6 cars in it. They opened the doors a little early and we were the first couple of patrons to be serviced. The salon was very clean, well lite, and the prices were clearly displayed. I was serviced by Tina. She was professional, courteous and displayed excellent customer service. Decided to get my nails done last week. The reviews were so so, but I decided to take a chance. One review I read, warned against the older lady with glasses who is rough and doesn't know how to do nails. So I get to the shop and a young lady ask what I wanted done. I ask a few questions and tell her what I want. I then tell her about the review I read and she tells me that it's an old review. However, now that I think about it, she never said the review was untrue. How about, that's who she selects to do my nails. I give the older lady a try because, I'm hoping things would have improved if in fact the post was an old one and especially since the lady was still working there. NOT!!!! She was making my nails the shape that she wanted them to be and not what I asked nor paid for. So I made her stop. The young lady asked Jason to do my nails. I find it hard to believe anyone in this shop knows how to do nails. I wanted my nails almond shaped which was an extra charge. I feel if I am paying extra, you need to be skilled at what you are doing and my nails should be on point. Again, NOT, ALL, but 4 of my nails are crooked and he didn't even bother to file them or smooth them out. I want to go back and have them fix it but I fear they will only make a bad situation worse and me even more upset. So I was suckered this time, but never again. It's a no for me sis. I'm literally typing this as I'm sitting in here. I went here only because there would be too long of a wait at my regular nail salon. I frequently drive past this place because I shop from the surrounding stores. As soon as I walk in, I was immediately impressed with the ambiance (modernized decor and soulful R&B). I put my name on the sign up sheet and waited for my name to be called. One of the women who worked there said that she would set me up for a pedicure and to follow her to a chair, cool. I walked to the chair and there is clearly a WET nail polish stain in the chair that I'm about to sit in. I ask her for a towel/napkin and she says, "oh someone just left this here, it should be dried up". As she goes to wipe the nail polish, it is smearing all over the seat. As it is smearing she says "that'll dry soon"....girl what? I didn't feel like making a scene (I just didn't have the energy for it) so guess what I did, sat in it. The guy who did my pedicure walks over and proceeded to begin working on my pedi. First of all, he handled my feet as if I were a 2 year old girl, no joke. I was like, "what the heck is this"? So after he worked on filing, buffing and tending to my cuticles he asked if I wouldn't mind for him to use a cheese grater...again, I say "that's fine". I had already made up my mind that I would never be back so I let him continue. He scraped my feet, rinsed my feet, took the scrub brush with just water on my feet and began scrubbing my feet and then rinsed, he then emptied the water out of the bowl. I couldn't believe he was done. He then put a glob of oil and lotion on my legs and gave me a 30 second leg and foot massage. Please, cut it out. And then he polished my nails and told me to go to the dryer. I cannot. I pretty much donated $23 to this place. The only reason why they received any stars from me was because of the pedi chairs....they were amazing. read more

Then I went to try with another person who used the nail drill to remove designs off my nails that left horrible indentations that are finally growing out from a manicure and pedicure 3 months ago. The final straw was when the owner did my nails with the powder, not acrylic and had not been well aware of the color it produced which was not what I wanted. I don't get regular manicures, but I was traveling to NYC and I wanted to treat myself. This salon is local and walk-in, so I gave it a shot. The first time I went, the wait was so long that I had to bail. I tried again on a Monday evening when there was almost no wait. I took the first tech available and agreed to a no-chip (which I had never tried). Victor was wonderful - although my nails were horrible from work, my Mani turned out great! It lasted 2 full weeks, and my nails grew long and strong! I have been back every two weeks since.
