This was my 1st time at Glitz for a 1st time full leg wax! I was serviced by Ashley and she's the truth. She had an audio book playing and I guess the idea is to give you something else to focus on instead of tensing up thinking about the possible pain you'll endure. Which leads me to pain level, 1-10 with 10 being most painful unbearable...my service was a 3/4. I do have a pretty moderate/high pain tolerance but honestly I did not "oooh!!!", flinch, or scream and I'm an actual hairy leg girl. The most you'll feel is a quick sting but the wax is warm, very smooth and rips away just as smooth. My appt was at 1:15p but I was not seen until 1:35p as she was finishing up a client however, I booked this with nothing else pressing on my plate so I didn't mind the wait. Ashley means business and is focused! She will get low and eyeball your skin to make sure she's pleased with her work and that you leave with the best result. She's also so beautiful! Where do I even begin. So this was my first time getting a wax. I ended up getting a Brazilian done by Ashley. Glitz Fix was recommended to me by by friend that's been going to her for a while. I decided to give it a try since I was going to be in Chicago do a week. Let me tell you, this was the best decision I've ever made. Let's start with the beginning. The studio is BEAUTIFUL, i didn't know what to expect for a waxing studio and this was not it. It was beyond my expectations. It's was very glamours and made me feel high end. There is glitter and rhinestones everywhere throughout the studio and it is beautiful. As soon as I walked in I was created and felt really welcomed. WAXING: The wax it's self was great. Ashley made me feel super comfortable and was very nice. The process went by really fast. I think it took about 25 mins for everything which was great. I got the new customer Brazilian which came with a bit strip. It cost $65 which wasn't bad at all. Ashely offers lots of different services and does both man and woman. I only came here to see Uly! She is an incredibly TALENTED and outgoing waxing professional and clearly prioritizes her clients' comfort! She is the best around without a doubt, I 110% recommend booking with her! The salon itself is cute and clean, although they seem to certainly struggle with customer service and scheduling as I was booked over, had to wait an extra 40 minutes for my appointment and was offered no compensation or discount for my wasted time. read more

Oh my! I just love this place. This has to be my third establishment I received a Brazilian Wax from and this is by far the best. My appointment didn't exactly start on time. I was waiting just a few minutes past the set time but I didn't moms because the loony area is so pretty and comfy. The receptionist was very helpful and answered all my questions. Jasmine did my wax she was great. Explained everything she was doing along the way and kept up very good conversation that distracted me from the slight pain of the wax. I strongly believe in supporting my people before I support anyone else. This is a black owned business and I really wanted to give them my support. I gave them quite a few chances before I decided to take my business elsewhere. Jasmine may be a better person to go to but I had Ashley as my wax person and each time my appointment started 20 or more minutes behind schedule. She was never on time. She was friendly at my first visit but she became more and more rude. You'd think that with her already starting my appointment late, she'd start on my wax right away. But, no. She would basically ignore me as if I wasn't in the room and have me laying on the table waiting while she finished checking her text messages. ASHLEY IS THE GREATEST. The services I chose were the Brazilian and the full leg wax and I have to say.. it does sting a little bit but Ashley was beyond phenomenal, and that doesn't even do her justice. She kept the comfort level at an all time high. She talked to me, we shared some stories, she was very kind and even told me some helpful tips for upkeep. This was my first time for both of these services with her, and in general. There's also a good sense of customer service. My appointment was at 12:15pm and she let me know a good 45 minutes ahead of time that she was slightly behind. I've had several occasional with other business (non-related services) that dot tell you they're behind until after you've arrived. So that was a bonus in my eyes. I drove from Woodridge and it was totally worth it. I don't have a problem making to 30+ minute drive to have this done again. The price isn't bad at all considering what I had done. I was disappointed, as a first-time client seeking a permanent and routine esthetician. While the esthetician was friendly and relatively timely. As the last appointment of the day you should expect for your appointment to not start exactly on time. So no big issues here. In this industry I've witness the professionals are talkative in an effort to make customers comfortable. I get it. However when talking forces you to stop and or talk with your hands, that's a problem. In addition to that you should be cautious of the words used to describe your customers current state. By this I mean, regardless if I am a novice or expert with waxes the condition of my vaginal area should be discussed with care not criticism. Similarly a customer is entitled to inquiries about your method and should be able to share what they are accustomed to without you, again, criticizing their previous esthetician quality and techniques. Most likely when someone brings up what they are accustomed to it's because it's preferred. This is not to say change your style but take it into consideration for this particular client at minimum. Lastly, or what I will make my last comment--- be humble! It goes further than boastfulness. Competition is too high in a city like Chicago. read more

This my new spot!! So, I have been getting waxed at another spa for almost 2 years. I had no complaints. But I needed a wax ASAP and I did not have a lot of time to get it. My normal place had a first available appointment two weeks out!!!! I was like, No! No! No! That will not do. So, I started looking for a place, just somewhere clean to hook me up real quick. I wasnt looking to convert at that point. I called this place to see if they used hard wax. That is really important to me and they do. They were able to get me in immediately. You have to put down a deposit for your service, that made me a little nervous about what I was walking into. However, when I made it to the studio. The atmosphere was clean, beautiful, and relaxing. The receptionist was very pleasant, and the technician was professional, knowledgeable, personable, and just damn good at her job. The prices are a little on the high side of normal but completely worth it. You pay for good service and quality work. I have been talking about this place since my visit, and I will be back.
