I am a lawyer, and I am in fact aware of this policy, but coercing someone into buying something after 5 minutes is discriminatory, and ridiculous. I am also a black man, and I have a beard. I bought something, but as I was sitting there with my coffee, several white customers were sitting outside, with ice cream, and food from nearby shops (which I have no problem with, the problem was not the employee, but the policy itself). However, those customers were not asked to leave, if they didn't buy something, and they sat for more than 5 mins. This also happened to me in Madison. This pattern is a result of starbucks policy, and the selective enforcement, against those who "appear" poor and "appear" black. Do better
