I went here 3 times this year in June, Sept, and January recently and it really sucks paying for bulk candy so much money and having it be stale. In Sept when I went the gummies were so fresh! June and this month of January stale To be fair they let you have samples! But for example I was trying out their plain gummies( no the sour ones). And each one I tried was hard and stale... when I know when they taste amazing fresh!! I still got a small bag of sour gummies to take home so they didn't think I was cheap and just sampling all the gummy flavors. But the quality is not there for freshness all the time. Same with the bulk chocolate. It's not the workers fault but whoever manages the candy and when it's rotated. Same with the containers of cotton candy! Just got a bucket that says expires in April 2024. Couldn't sample it but it already taste old! Like I've bought their cotton candy when it tasted so fresh!! So yeah I know they do have good products but their freshness is not reliable! And for how expensive it is it should be. The staff is nice though! read more

These are some pricey gummies... and they trick you with a free sample and then you're hooked. There is some parallels with drug addiction and sugar highs here, I'm pretty sure. Also, while $16 dollars a lbs is gummies may seem pricey (signs there will say it's $4 for a quarter lbs), you can buy the jars and refill it for $6 or $8 depending on the size. So here I am, with my already bought jars while trying to jam 30 dollars worth of gummies into those small jars, dropping about an equal amount of gummies onto the floor, one of the store employees come by. I felt immediate shame, but she was cool and helped me jam as much as I can. If she had an disgust towards me, she did not show it at all and was even praising me on my gummy jamming techniques. I love Lolli & Pops. Whenever I have someone that I'm showing Tyson's Mall to, I make a point to show them Lolli & Pops. I'm like a kid in a candy store. The reality is that I'm an adult in a candy store. The staff is really friendly, and they let you sample stuff. It's a candy store on steroids. They have so many varieties of chocolates & various candies as well as unique sodas and the standard fare candy too for the less adventuresome types. One time my friend, who lives in Bethesda and rarely crosses the river, for some reason we were at Tysons. I don't recall why, but I knew she loves candy stores. In fact, I was with her one time, and she bought $40 worth of candy at the crappy candy store in Montgomery Mall (near their food court)! Again, she bought about $40 at Lolli & Pops. I'm glad they got some business from my friend, whose candy spending habit is debate-ably bad, and since I'm a cheap bastard, who almost never buys the expensive candy in the candy stores. I did however buy some candy one time there in July 2016. We were on a date, the Tysons outdoor concert series. I love free concerts! Actually, my one friend in Arizona said that free was my favorite 4-letter F-word. I told my date that I gotta show you this candy store. We both went, and I bought a whopping $9 worth of candy to prove to my date that I wasn't a cheap bastard. The candy melted rapidly on that hot July day. Since June 2018 when I obtained the AMC movie pass, I had popped in a couple of times since Tysons became a far more likely destination because of the large movie theater. One time they were handing out samples. Then, I walked back through in the other direction and got another sample...haha. Cute candy shop inside Tysons Mall. A friend of ours gave us a gift card from here and that's how we found out about Lolli and Pops. The store is very neat and organized. There is plenty of variety to satisfy your sweet tooth. I'm loving the decor and creativity put into this store. One of the coolest things they sell here is Butterbeer, like in Harry Potter. Everything in this store in on the pricier side. I saw a bag of marshmallows that are dusted with gold for $25. Um yeaaa... We tried some of their macarons, that were displayed so nicely and boy were they a huge disappointment. At $3.50 for one, these should have knocked my socks off. They didn't. In fact they tasted old and incredibly crunchy. I felt bad throwing them away but no one wanted to eat more than one bite of it. Hopefully this was just a bad batch. Probably one of the cutest candy shops where if your not careful will break the bank. They sell a variety of sweets and confections. It has an old classic candy shop feel with glass filled jars and the metal scoops. There is a sweet confections type of room with jellybeans and other confections. A chocolate room with chocolate confections and a gummy room in the back. They also have a cooler for various flavored sodas butterbeer, Peanut Butter and Jelly Soda, Buffalo Wing Sauce are the ones that stuck out to me. They also have there display cases full of. Truffles and other handmade chocolates all from smaller shops. They also offer a lot of imported candies from Europe and other countries. There was even a section for Asian candies. Although they were a bit on the priced side.. I love that the employees are so friendly and ask if you would like to try samples and some people aren't skimpy either. Myself and my cousin were able to try multiple gummy bears our favorite was the mango bears. The staff explained that their gummy bears were gourmet and made by either the Albany company or they are from Albany. Either way they were fresh and delicious. We also got to try a few of the chocolate drop type candies. My cousin tried the tiramisu caramel which he said was. A bit chewier then he liked but it was okay. The staff is also very informative we were convinced to buy the Tabasco flavored chocolate that contains at least 3 bottles of hot sauce. It actually is really good. Slow burn but it does what its suppose to if you like spicy chocolate. I love the gummy room... partially because seeing a giant gold gummy bear statue is awesome in my book. Of course I had to walk away with a few confections myself...I walked away with a carmelized pear and goat cheese macaron and a tequila lime truffle. Which set me back. 5.98 plus tax. 2.50 for the truffle and 3.25 for the macaron. For their bulk candy its about 12.00 per lb. Overall... its a very cute shop. But it is pricey for certain items but your are paying for quality for the bulk candy. However my macaron that was from the sweet shop was a disappointment the flavor wasn't anything like its description caramel yes... pear and goat cheese no where to be found. Texture just didn't seem fresh. My cousin agreed they got cappuccino and green tea. The tequila and lime truffle was refreshing... and smooth not overly boozy could taste the lime a hint of tequila as my cousin said a smooth cocktail. It was a smooth truffle the white chocolate was a thin layer so it didn't have a snap. The truffle it self is made by Christopher elbow Was delicious and I thinks worth what I paid. Got a few things for gifts and stockings. I've tried a candy bar and some chocolate covered sunflower seeds so far. Both are beyond expiration. Digging the name and the old school look of the employees, went in to check things out. The guy that helped us asked our preferences and was generous with the dark chocolate covered pretzels with caramel. Sold! Also got mojito gummy bears. Also very delicious. Where I had to scale this review back, was that we were told that the candy was $11.50 a pound. When we got to the counter, the cashier said that he didn't know why, but it comes up at $15 a lb. if you get less than a pound. Who knew that spending $50 on candy could be SO MUCH FREAKING FUN? Lolli and Pops is my new mall obsession -- it's a candy store, but so much more. With an old-timey feel, three separate candy rooms (old school, chocolate, and gummy), baked treats in a glass case at the front, and all the imported Asian and European candies you could wish for, this store is the be all and end all of sugar shops. The reason my personal tab ended up so high (other than the 1-pound bag full of gummies) is because I died a little bit when I saw all the imported candies (like a shot straight to my childhood!) and may have bought a giant bag of green tea kit kats, 2 packs of hi-chews, and some Kinder buenos. There are ...no kidding....at least 3-4 candy stores in Tyson's Center. Lolli and Pops is such a cute little place near the AMC side of the mall. It is worth the search/find. They have their candy sectioned out by room. I loved the the jellies, gumdrops, and retro candy room. I found candy cigarettes, lots of chewy gumdrop candies(don't know if that's the name), and other candy that eventually made it into my many bags. The staff was SOOO nice. They told us about the 'fill the tin' for one price option. They also told us if we bring the tin back, we get 10% off our candy. That's a huge savings when you are buying ummm, $45 worth of candy! A friend of mine and I walk in and then Lynne (an awesome employee) showed us the ropes and really got to know us, which then told us which candies to get. She was ON POINT! She helped us around as well. She even convinced me to get a forever jar, which is GLORIOUS, due to not having to fill a plastic bag. She was friendly, patient, phenomenal, professional, and had excellent customer service. This place is really, really cool. BUT, I refuse to buy anything this overpriced. Everything is sold either at supermarkets or Amazon for WAY less. I saw that they had butterscotch soda so I figured I would get a 4 pack for my family to try. Since there was no pricing to be found (common for most items in the store) I asked one of the guys on the floor. He told me "um, maybe, like five bucks?" Really dude? I don't expect anyone to know the price of everything but I would respect your answer a lot more if you admitted you didn't know and made an effort to find out. So I get in line to find out the mystery price of these four Godforsaken bottles of soda. When I get there the kid at the register says "$10 is that okay?" "I'll pass but thanks" "What? But you can only get it here!" I don't know if he was from the past and didn't hear about that Internet thing, but maybe they should fill him in. Rule #1 of soda buying: No one should pay more for a 4 pack of soda than a six pack of beer. Overall, the staff here need a bit of adult supervision. I know there aren't a lot of 40 year olds lining up to work at a candy shop but maybe if the guy from Willy Wonka is still alive, he could make it work here. I love this place!! I always come before I go to the movies. They have a huge selection, whether it's old time candy, gummies, artisan chocolate, house made truffles, or Japanese kit kats. My wife and I stopped in because there was a gentleman outside handing out free samples of gummy bears and chocolate covered pretzels. This place is very unique and special to me, as I've never experienced anything quite like it. The prices outrageously high... just like the sugar high you will have after stopping here. They have everything you can imagine, even Butterbeer! Just make sure and prepare your wallet, but it's worth it. Sometimes you have to treat yo' self. Lots of dark chocolate and vegan-friendly snacks. Dried mango in dark chocolate are my favourite. Novelty items such as Unicorn Poop, and giant gummy treats are available here as well. The Harry Potter selection is the main reason why I pushed to stop by. While their selection isn't exactly Universal Studios, they have quite a bit! I was able to find lots of Harry Potter candies for gifts (Bertie Botts, Butterbeer). The place was clean and I am a germaphobe when it comes to these types of places that serve edibles. The staff were nice and friendly, and kept an eye on kids which I appreciate! AMAZING Now I've been here a couple times before: once to try a free sample and another to satisfy a small chocolate covered espresso bean craving, but this visit was completely different. I know they'll let you sample any of their bulk candies but I always feel a little guilty because I felt like I had to buy something afterwards. One sales associate noticed me eyeing the chocolates and offered me so many samples. He was so excited for me to try different things and I didn't feel pressed on purchasing. This place is the cutest stinking place! I've been to Dylan's candy bar only in Florida but personally this place is a trillion times better. This has almost every type of candy you can imagine. My siblings adore this place and so do I. I don't even like candy but there is something for everyone here. It is a little pricey but of course it is because it's in Tyson's and the candy I like cost $$$ people. The place is a 50's style feel where the employees wear top hats and striped aprons. They will basically let you try anything if you just ask. If you want to get some little treats for gifts, do it right here! I got my little brother these weird like science candy things in the back behind where the gummys are and he just devoured them. My sister is kind of picky and loves to choose candy that is a little weird and that is exactly what she found with some Spanish candies. Like I said, I don't really like candy at all but I do love marshmallows and caramel and they had these $12 s'mores things I don't even know how to explain it. I have been here twice or so and every time the people have been EXTREMELY nice (probably because of the candy).
