His and hers breakfast. When I imagine a big Aussie breakfast, this is what I hope for but really get elsewhere. The staff here really make you feel welcome and the food and coffee's are always 1st class. I have tried several other cafés in the area but have now decided that this is where I will pick up my couple of coffees a day during my holiday. For a quick snack on the run their coffee and sweet deal cannot be beat!

Really delicious breakfast! I had the potato rosti with bacon, avocado, and eggs and cleaned my plate! Really good coffee too, and its location is very convenient; quiet area, quick walk to the beach.

If you've seen some of my previous reviews, you'll see that I eat out for breakfast practically every morning while on the GC for work. I also try and get out for a walk around Broadbeach each morning (I stress try, but you're not reading this to listen to my lack of fitness regime now are you!), which is how I came across this little gem of a cafe / restaurant. Plenty of seating outside (only a couple in full sun, a good or bad thing depending on how you feel!), friendly staff & quite a decent menu. I went the bacon and eggs (anyone else sensing a pattern here), and despite a bit of a wait for it to arrive, couldn't fault the food and the fresh pineapple juice was perfect. This a cute little cafe, with good breakfast and a great location coming off the back of a beachside walk, that I think I'll make my regular :) It's probably a little pricier than some of the more, um how do I put this.... let me just say I wouldn't take my boss to some of the places near Broadbeach mall. But I'm sure it's around the same price / cheaper than Melbourne (I don't eat breakfast out in Melbourne very often).

It's a rarity to find a pub or bar in the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise where the staff actually enjoy working there. It definitely makes a difference to the venue's vibe! The bar staff also enjoy a good chat and a bit of banter across the bar and this is one of the few Irish pubs in Surfers that actually employees Irish people! Not only adding to the atmosphere, but it means there are staff who can actually pour a good pint of Guinness! There is live music most nights of the week from 9pm, with a band on every Friday and Saturday night. True to their roots there is also traditional Irish entertainment there every Sunday afternoon. In terms of food it has a great range of pub style food at great prices. I've found the food to always be amazing, even the specials (usually $10-15) are spot on! You definitely can't go past the $10 steaks that they do for lunch and dinner! One of the main things that I LOVE about the food here is that they stick to what they're good at; good quality pub-style food at a reasonable price! This is a great pub that caters for everyone, from families, to older couples and young 20-somethings looking for a good night out, there is something for everyone in Fiddlers. This is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of the owners and management! See you there!

Drink prices are higher than your average Irish bar, but are pretty standard for the area. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. If you are acknowledging there will be a wait be honest about it. Two groups who were served after me got their orders first. Waiting also sadly, allowed me to witness the owner (I believe it was, he was the main cook and eldest man), being quite blunt, rude and sharp with his staff on several occasions. Staff who I believe were his family? If you have an open kitchen be aware that your behaviour towards others is on show. When finally receiving our takeaway... the meals were pleasant. I had the grilled salmon and this was beautifully cooked and very flavourful. The burgers we ordered were good, especially for a fish & chip shop, which can be substandard as they don't cook burgers as a main item. The chips were a big average, a little soggy for my likely, but again tasted pleasant. My salad was good - I'd like to have been offered a vinaigrette or dressing for it but wasn't and a larger salad serve would have been good as it was quite small. All in all, I'm sorry to say we will not be visiting this store again.

Peter's is still around and booming for one thing. Second is they have barely increased their prices as compared to everyone else on that Gold Coast!!! We arrived and there was still a line out the door if the fish market at 4:00PM. They shut down the kitchen at 7:00PM. Remember this is a fish market. They had added many more picnic benches that kind of line the street and have a few at the end of the little street overlooking the water. So, you pick out your seafood, stand in line and when it's your turn you tell them how you want it cooked. We ordered a meal that consisted of 7 large fried shrimp(crumbled prawn cutlets)and order of fries and a large bottled soda. Total check was $24 AUDs....about $16US. Our number was quickly called and we retrieved our food. Sat outside and had a delightful late afternoon lunch/early dinner. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. And the fries were plentiful and nicely seasoned with salt. Both the shrimp and fries had a nice crisp. Remember this is a fish market. Service is great if you are ok standing in line for a boating to order. Staff is there willing to help Seafood is described as to type and labeled whether it is freshly caught or has been previously frozen. What more does one want. Highly recommend even though I shouldn't because the place is already always packed. Remember this is casual dining and it is simple! Enjoy!
