Possibly my favourite place in the world! There is a great atmosphere in Fiddlers no matter what time of day or night it is. It's a rarity to find a pub or bar in the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise where the staff actually enjoy working there. It definitely makes a difference to the venue's vibe! The bar staff also enjoy a good chat and a bit of banter across the bar and this is one of the few Irish pubs in Surfers that actually employees Irish people! Not only adding to the atmosphere, but it means there are staff who can actually pour a good pint of Guinness! There is live music most nights of the week from 9pm, with a band on every Friday and Saturday night. True to their roots there is also traditional Irish entertainment there every Sunday afternoon. In terms of food it has a great range of pub style food at great prices. I've found the food to always be amazing, even the specials (usually $10-15) are spot on! You definitely can't go past the $10 steaks that they do for lunch and dinner! One of the main things that I LOVE about the food here is that they stick to what they're good at; good quality pub-style food at a reasonable price! This is a great pub that caters for everyone, from families, to older couples and young 20-somethings looking for a good night out, there is something for everyone in Fiddlers. I came in on a Wednesday for lunch. Ordered the fish and chips lunch special. The meal also came with a side salad. It was a good portion of food for $10. Drink selections were standard. Drink prices are higher than your average Irish bar, but are pretty standard for the area. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. I would come back again, especially to check out the night scene. read more

This place was packed on a rainy night in Surfers, so we just had to go in to see why the crowds loved it so much? Service was friendly and we got a booth seat near the front. It is a lively place, not the place to take a new crush for a romantic, quiet, get to know you dinner! We took the $10 steak deal and felt a bit cheap, but hey we got some beers as well! The wait wasn't too bad considering the crowds. And boy BIG portions!! Steak, salad, chips, sauce $10 wow good value plus! Salad was nice, missing a bit of dressing. Chips lots of chips, lots!!! Steak, sadly not medium, more medium-well done. So that was a bit of a shame. However for the price, the atmosphere and the friendly staff....we didn't mind, we walked out full and happy. read more

I like the meals here, good size, good heart and good taste. We had the Fish and chips and the steak and both came out hot, fresh and incredibly tasty. There is a certain little charm about Irish bars in Surfers Paradise, they all seem to be right next to each other and serving steak for a dollar less than the last. Whilst the steak here isn't el primo $35 dollar steak, you get a good quality cut for what you pay for... usually under $10! Bargain. Very nice location.tuesday steak night- 15 bucks for any steak (t-bone,rump) which comes e.g. With giant fries and housesalad. So tasty garlic sauce! Very nice staff ..helpful and friendly. A very good place to dine out and not to forget amazing live singer read more

It's pretty decent Irish pub. There's fun live music on Fridays, and generally there's a happy atmosphere. Don't come here for the cheap drinks, though. read more

Am a bit perplexed how this place has such a high rating. We had dinner here on Friday after seeing the 4.5 star rating. Food seemed reheated but was lukewarm, steak was gristly and definitely not what I would call an eye fillet, lamb shank was nice nothing special. Very average wine selection and not all available. And...how can you run out of onion rings when Woolies is across the road?? Might be fun for a dance but wouldn't eat there again. read more

One of the places i miss the most after moving away from the gold coast. Lovely atmosphere and great tasting irish food.

Worst Service in all of Queensland. Staff is rude and not to mention slow. Extremely disappointed and won't be back. Just moved to the Gold Coast and will make sure word of mouth of my experience is passed on. We went on an extremely busy night. We got the $15 crumbed chicken special which was ok and the carbonara which was pretty good. We waited for nearly 1/2 hour for our food, when people who were seated after us had been served and already finished meals. I wanted to enjoy this place more than i did because i love me an irish pub. It is a great place to sit and watch people pass by and enjoy a drink though. read more

The food service scheme is a bit odd. You have about five different servers waiting on you. That said they were all very polite and helpful Irish girls. The food was excellent for pub style food. I was impressed. We had Bangers and Mash and Fish and Chips. Both were excellent. Very tasty. read more

Nice pub but if you are planning on going here for dinner DONT! Went in the last week and while staff were nice the service was absolutely shocking!! I waited 1hour for my food !!! There was people who came in 15mins after me - got starters and steak as main and I was still sitting waiting for my food as they finished theirs... We weren't expecting good food here but we were pleasantly surprised. Excellent service. Great selection of drinks at the bar. The fish and chips were great. Nachos were delicious and the kids cheese burger was appreciated by my youngster. The steak which was on special was the low point. A bit gristly. Portion size big. Atmosphere good. The staff looked like they were hating their life, they didn't listen to orders and made us feel bad for being unsure of our choice or what we were ordering. A friend got a little tipsy (but nowhere near badly drunk) and the manager sent the security over to the table where we were sitting having a nice conversation and told him to leave. He went calmly (even though it was completely unwarranted) and then they continued to kick people out the same way for being "too drunk". (yet when the table of girls next to us stacked and broke wine glasses all over the place they didn't do anything. ) Also, it was my friends birthday. So overall, a pretty bad experience and wouldn't go back. Don't go here if you want to have fun because they'll kick you out. The live music was okay. read more

Fiddlers and Waxys are the only bars I go to when heading out for a drink in Surfers. Great place. Usually has the best live music as well.

Went to the Fiddlers Green for Dinner Copy of message sent to the Entertainment Book The menu was divided into sections (as are most menus) - Starters, salads, burgers, main meals, steak. I had a steak and my wife had a chicken burger. All meals were served with chips. It was a nice venue, lovely food but our night soured considerably when I went to pay at the counter. The Management would not accept the Entertainment Voucher citing the requirement to buy 2 main meals. Apparently neither steak nor burgers qualify as a main meal, only those meals which are included in the section "Main Meals". Management advised that we were not entitled to claim the 2 for 1 voucher and that we should have advised them before we sat down that we were going to use it. We are upset and disappointed that Management were not prepared to concede at all and we had to pay full price. Management's defence was that he "sat down" with the Entertainment Book Reps and discussed in detail what was to form part of the deal; however from our point of view it is reasonable to expect that at dinner time (6.30 p.m.) we would be entitled to claim the voucher. There was no signage to the contrary. We have experienced no difficulty whatsoever at other venues. Our receipt is attached and you will see that the amount in dispute was $20.90. A confrontational response and no disposition to dispute resolution has left us extremely disappointed. We will be expressing that disappointment in areas which we sincerely hope will be read by other patrons. Please advise your consumers to be very wary when attending Fiddlers Green.
