This joint was recommended by a local, and we found it enjoyable enough to visit twice within the same travel period. They have a spectrum of different fresh fish and crustacean on ice that you can select for cooking. I believe the methods offered were grilled, batter fried, or crust fried. I had both the batter and crust, and if you're looking for your typical fish and chips, I would recommend the batter fried. The chip servings are generous to say the least, and might require a few dipping sauces to get variety. Drinks and dipping sauces are all sold separately for less than $1 AUD. The seating can get packed fairly quickly as there were only about 5-6 seating boats, however a good amount ordered for takeaway. I found the experience nostalgic of Lent fish fry's and overall pleasant. Swing by if you have the chance to explore this dope city.

Disappointed compared to Sydney Fish Market since this is only 1 store with the selection small relative to Sydney Fish Market. On an absolute basis, it is so-so, but I would prefer not to go back there. We ordered the "set-menu" with the calamari and small pieces of fried fish. Wasn't that good. The whole uncooked pieces of fish slices and whole pieces of uncut fish looked super fresh. We should have paid-up and got a whole piece of sliced fresh fish and had them fry it up instead. Although the food was somewhat disappointing, sitting by the water's edge eating the fish and chips is great. Price was/is so-so, but I guess it is expected given lots of tourist come by here. Walking around the marina before or after the meal is great. Better yet, check out the fishing boats beside Pete's. I asked the folks working on the boats, and they tell me they get back at about 8am with the fresh catch.

50 cents!!!!

Pretty exxy for a small container of vinegar, but the seafood was VERY fresh. :)

TL; DR The most rude 'service' (more like sarcasm) I have ever received in my entire life at a…read morerestaurant. Try at your own risk. We made a booking a week in advance with the 'special occasion: date night' note. On the night, we called the restaurant to inform that we were running 10 minutes late. No problems. When we arrived, there was a queue of people in front of us. Unfortunately it didn't take long for the excitement to turn into a big time disappointment. After a short wait, our turn came. 5 awkward minutes passed by without 'hi' or even an eye contact by the receptionist. She must be reading breaking news on her tablet. Red flag #1. A tall, white and bald wait staff brought us to the table at a corner. When we asked if there was any chance we could move to one of the tables with the water view, we were told they were all taken. Fair enough. When we asked again if we could move to one if it becomes available throughout the night, the waiter told us that we stay at the same table once seated and that is how it works at the restaurant. Shocker. Surprised, I told him that this is the first time I visited a place with such a rule and that it doesn't commonly happen in Melbourne. His reply: 'I was in Melbourne for 15 years' to which I said 'I've been in Melbourne for 20 years'. At this point, I was convinced he was getting emotional. Red flag #2. As he walked off, I followed on and said 'it is alright, I am sure you are trying your best.' to which he whimpers 'and you are not'. Yeah he was pissed and amateur enough he couldn't hide it. Another wait staff, a white lady who seemed pregnant, approached us to pour some tap water. Still trying to comprehend the unreasonable rudeness by the bald waiter, I asked the lady if that is how things work around us. She flat out ignored us and walked away. Must be the wife of the other waiter. Red flag #3. After 3 minutes according to my watch, she walked towards us again. Perhaps she could answer my question I thought to myself. Nope. She just wanted to sell drinks. To be fair, nothing wrong with that, except all of the staff at Omeros seemed to have forgotten they are in the 'hospitality' industry to 'serve' the patrons. At this point I feel sorry for Omeros brothers as a fellow businessman. I just cannot imagine having such staff myself. We informed them that we couldn't find anything to eat and that we were sorry to leave. The bald waiter once again showed a great display of who's the boss by saying 'please don't be sorry, we are thankful.' ... before starting to whimper once again with an inaudible voice criticizing my attitudes. It is possible that we've somehow got under his skin, or that both staff were having a particularly bad night, or perhaps that they were just racists. Who knows. I just wish that others won't have to ruin their nights because of these guys at Omeros.

Great seafood in an enchanting environment…read more After dining in 'downtown' Surfers Paradise for a few days I thought I would give Tedder Ave a try as I had heard good things. A walk up and down the strip reading menus and surveying the scene landed me at Shuck Restaurant and Bar. I started with a half of a dozen oysters. I wanted to try both the Sydney Rock and Natural Pacific and they were kind enough to serve me three of each. The Pacifics were oyster perfection - briny and meaty and tasting fresh from the sea. The Sydneys were not to my taste - somewhat flavorless and a bit sweet if anything. To each their own....YMMV. I followed them with the Moreton Bay Bug Tempura served in an onion salad with nori and a wasabi sauce. The bugs were fried lusciousness and the salad a tasty crunchy accompaniment. In a perfect world there would have been less sauce (and perhaps more wasabi in the sauce)...but that isn't really a complaint so much as a note for next time. I chose an Ara Chardonnay to accompany my meal. In a perfect world a Chenin Blanc would be offered...but I've since learned that neither Australia nor New Zealand grows a lot of the grape. The atmosphere is fun and open - I had an exterior table and watched the world walk by. The service was wonderful.

With some sour cream dollops and some puréed peas was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The Sydney oysters paired with an Ara Sauv Blanc from NZ was top shelf. The Ara Chard was actually better than the Sauv Blanc (wow!). The restaurant manager doted on me and made me feel at home - like I've eaten here every week for months. And, finally, the Affogato was a perfect finish. It's not ridiculously expensive - actually for price-performance, you can't go wrong. Go to Shucks and enjoy a fantastic meal!

When we made our way to Gold Coast we thought why not spoil ourselves at a buffet. This spot got near any Australian thing you can think of and then some for breakfast. The juice/coffee bar was a nice touch as well and we spent our time not piling on our plates and eating trying every one of their juices and coffee on offer. I do wish I had room for more pastry but we ran out of time. For the price of 50 aud I'd easily come back with the boiz for a nice breakfast. From looking at the previous photos there showed that there was a wide variety available such as lobster and morton bay bugs. After being seated, checked what was available and was greatly disappointed that the seafood selection were quite minimal. We decided to stay and again was met with another disappointment that the dishes were either below or just average. When asked where were the lobsters etc we were told that they don't put them out on weekdays and even then it's on occasion. This should have been added to their website so folks are clear as to what they are getting. The prawns were nice but some were grainy. The oysters were super tiny. The meats that we had were the roast pork with crackling and the roast beef. Both were quite dry even with the sauce which was too salty. Also check one of the images attached. There is a bug on one of their desserts. Of the ones that didn't have any bugs were hit and miss. That aside the service was very good, very attentive. If the food was up to the same quality that would have been better. Overall quite meh. For the price I would go elsewhere.
