The pool area and great and features a sandy "beach like" side to it. The hotel food is great and service is just ok. My only critique is that the hotel is a bit dated and but definitely check out the indoor pools as well. They have a heated one, warm, and cold in a very relaxed area. Also Casey is the best!

I liked swimming in the pool but it may not suit all as it is viewable from the lobby and many guest go to be seen. Good points Try the high tea it is very nice. It has a one hat and two restaurant, a number of bars and self serve restaurant that serves breakfast. We had dinner at Vie the one hat restaurant. The food was well done and worth the hat. The head waiter was exceptional. The staff in the bar where we had high tea were of high standard. Downside They struggle with peak periods which there is very few mainly public holidays and the odd occasion which this happened to be one. We had a large queue for breakfast and had to wait an appreciable time. We did not get the room tidied until around 4pm and I had to ring. But I would come again definitely a good Australian hotel. A great fish shop is next door to the left Pete's fish market don't ask the staff secret from a local and well worth a visit.

About an…read morehour-and-a-half plane flight north of Sydney, Surfers Paradise is, not surprisingly, known for its vast abundance of beaches that are so clean and pristine. On a Monday, they're relatively empty, too, in this place popular with tourists who come for weekend trips. I was only there a couple days but was thrilled to dine at Glass, a stunning waterfront restaurant with a classily cool interior. The meal was magnificent, one of my favorite pasta dishes I've had. The sun-dried tomato arancini starter ($13.9 AUD) with mozzarella and gremolata was tasty -- perfectly fried little balls of risotto heaven ideal to share for two. All the tapas sounded fantastic, from the wild mushroom and truffle croquettes and tempura zucchini flowers, to the panko crumbed eggplant wedges. If I were to go again, I would probably split several tapas dishes. For my main, I got a veggie rigatoni ($28.9) drenched in a tasty tomato sauce, with zucchini, onions, cherry tomatoes and heaping hunks of feta cheese. Every bite was amazing, and the portion was impressively huge for a fine dining restaurant. The squid ink seafood risotto ($31.9) was another generous portion and came with calamari, shrimp, fish, lobster and scallop. It was a seafood lover's heaven and smelled marvelous. Service was impeccable, from host to server to food runner. I loved the Alkoomi reisling ($9.5), which was a sweetly wonderful pairing for the pasta and arancini. I went to Glass because of a recommendation from my cab driver, and now I'm recommending it to you.

A very impressive and romantic place to dine with your partner. You are well looked after by staff but not over pampered. Really enjoyed the food. Barramundi is not farmed and a pot of mussels come in three different sauces including blue cheese! Can't wait to return. If you are sitting near the pier toss a piece of bread in and wait for swarms of bream to arrive!

A delightful commissary for my stay…read more I had the opportunity to enjoy an extended stay at the Marriott Surfers Paradise and ended up using the Chapter & Verse as my 'commissary' eating and/or drinking here more or less once every day. The steak sandwich is stellar - it is in fact the only dish I ordered more than once. The chicken sandwich was also quite good but the dish I found to be most surprisingly delicious was the Caesar salad. It was packed with flavor - some nicely roasted chicken (not just dry breast meat), a poached egg, plenty of Parmesan cheese, and some nicely done croutons combined with a tasty Caesar dressing and crisp lettuce - and was both 'light' and satisfying. The pizzas were good but not on the same level as the other dishes I enjoyed...and the prawn pizza was better than the lamb. Actually, the smaller 'bar bite' garlic pizza was probably best of the bunch. As far as mixed drinks, I tried the English Garden on my first visit but found it too sweet to my taste. But the Chica Caliete was rather spectacular (when ordered without agave). That said, most meals I stuck with beer and I can heartily recommend the 4 Pines Ale. The bar/lounge is divided into two halves - an fancier inside and a 'beachfront' outside that overlooks the saltwater and sand pool. I always sat outside and enjoyed the weather and the view. The service was excellent.
