Last time I was here was in 2008. As a hotel well, it's simple. Want to be spoilt, pampered and enjoy the comforts of the a probably the nearest thing you'll get to a six star in Australia? Well pop in here. The seafood buffet is simply superb. Fresh and never ending, this is the place you want to be at when you haven't earned for week and need to catch up! Service is excellent Wine list.... Very very nice thank you! This seasons Versace range of plates etc.... Arabesque a beautiful design that entices you to buy some for home. If you love swimming pools... Simply stunning If you need a special place for a special moment... This is the place to be.... Now shhhh I'm heading back to my seafood dish!!!

    My view at breakfast.

Palazzo Versace and elegance should be synonyms in the dictionary. This hotel has spent time laying out every last detail. From the moment you arrive and are greeted by the incredibly hospitable staff to the first step into the awe inspiring lobby with mosaic tile floors, glittering chandeliers and vibrant live orchids you will find painstaking attention paid to cultivating a sense of opulence. The location is great if you prefer to be slightly outside of the main hustle and bustle. Although, you are just minutes from the action. The buffet breakfast was quite delicious with plenty of options for even the pickiest of eaters. The hotel rooms are spacious and elegant. The fitness center is stocked with modern and well-maintained equipment, and the pools just simply sparkle. Highly recommend!

Stayed in a Lagoon Suite and paid an exorbitant amount to go into our bathroom and find excrement on the walls. When we approached the manager, we were given a complimentary high tea and told that was the best they could do. We were not impressed, but accepted the lack lustre compensation. Once we arrived home and upon review of our bill, we discovered that they had charged us for valet parking when the package we purchased had free valet parking included. When I contacted the hotel, they were very flippant about it and said that they would follow it up when they had time. It really was not 5 star treatment and I will never go back.

A friend of mine recommended me this place for breakfast and I'm so glad I checked it out. At $48 a person, you get an excellent selection of brunch items. Everything from Sushi to Eggs to hollandaise sauce was perfectly made. I highly recommend the sausage, both chicken and beef. It's very rare to see passion fruit as an option, but this place got it all. It may be a bit pricey, but I highly recommend it.

    Enough said!

As longtime…read moreMarriott members, this was one of our best experiences As soon as we arrived, the service was outstanding! Chanel at the front desk gave us such a warm and friendly welcome, and the butterfly pea drink was a fun, unique treat. The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, with an amazing view. Comfy beds, thick luxe towels, Nespresso machine, and the ice machine has crunch pebble ice!!! I love pebble ice! The pool area was the highlight. The tropical saltwater lagoon with small tropical blue fish was really cool, and the heated pool with a waterfall and waterslide was a huge hit with my husband. lol. The hospitality team made use feel so valued during our stay. The nightly turn down service w/ aromatherapy spray, chocolates, and a light cleaning is so nice to come back to at the end of our night. The complimentary WiFi for Marriott members is always a great perk. On our second day, when we logged on and we received a prompt asking about our stay so far, we asked a question and they certainly went above and beyond and delivered. Thanks so much to management/customer relations!! The entire hospitality team, including our kind housekeeper, Steven at the restaurant, the breakfast host/servers, and staff who delivered items up to our room, all provided such wonderful service. Everyone truly made it a memorable stay! **Ooh the breakfast buffet at the restaurant is delicious! From American breakfast such as pancakes, eggs, breakfast meats, made-to-order omelettes, cold meats and cheese,, Asian cuisines, pastries and a fresh juice bar station was outstanding! Don't pass it up! (Build your own omelette has crab meat options...mmmmm).

Natalie provided less than adequate service and the overall experience was a 100K loss and rude service extended to us and our delegates. Even the Corporate office was NO help at all. Very disappointed and as we grow around the globe - the JW Marriott or any marriott will never be within consideration. A little good service would have gone a long way.

The room has cosmetic issues everywhere but the resort itself is beautiful. Lots of walking required though as not too many elevators. The staff are nice and try to accommodate and this is definitely more affordable if you avoid the holiday season. Ocean is right out front with lifeguards!

With a direct private entrance to the beach and walking distance across the bridge to amazing shopping and restaurants you don't even need a car. If you really need to get out, I suggest taking a taxi rather than forking out all the cash for a rental. The rooms are beautiful by far the best bath tub and shower and this is the only hotel I've been to where the elevators have a luxe leather bench to sit and rest your weary feet for all of 2 floors. Yes, I made it a point to sit down every time.... At first I was kind of bummed there was only 1 hotel dinning restaurant which is a buffet in addition to the Oasis pool bar but just across the bridge and within a 2 minute walk there are a ton of restaurants on the water. Therefore I decided it wouldn't kill me to get out of the hotel- bad feeling gone! The pool has a swim up bar, the only thing I do wish is that there was an outdoor spa. This would have been nice in GC's winter of 68-70 degrees/ 18-20C :) I can't wait to come back and stay here again!

Breakfast for instance - was a little underwhelming with the choices. Housekeeping was a hit or miss. Also, parking was horrible to accommodate a property this large. But onto the positives - views from the balcony are breathtaking. You can see the beach and the sunset/rise - million dollar views. Staff is nice - they also have a coffee shop/eatery downstairs that serves decent coffee and cocktails. Also the decor is lovely inside.

We entered after checking in and drove around for 20 mins or more waiting for a spot, you have to follow people leaving the shops to their cars to get their spot. It's also very tight and cramped, a few times I had to reverse as too narrow dead ends for three point turns. Other guests were doing the same. Dented and scratched my car on a tight turn - my fault of course but don't bring a large SUV / car. Smoking is not allowed on balconies, however our balcony had used cigarette butts littering it from previous occupants. Supposed to be able to cast from devices to TV but it didn't work (code on TV rejected). Room okay otherwise, beds comfortable. Pool is okay for adults don't recommend for kids. We went for a swim at about 4pm after arrival and the spa was full of adults drinking alcohol (it's a licensed premises). Sign states no glass drink containers yet they had glass bottles. Sign says no jumping from spa to pool, but kids (and one parent!) were doing it anyway. Needs maybe a fence along edge of spa, one where adults in spa can still supervise through. Exterior looks a bit run down. Lifts are odd, to go from room to car park you take lift to lobby level then change lifts to go down one more level. Buffet breakfast was good. We'd originally booked this as a family of four under my husbands name. He became ill so we postponed our stay and were given credit. Later he passed away. I called to rebook for us three and it had to stay booked in his name, but was assured a note was made in the system that I would be checking in and why. When checking in the staff said the names were different so I explained. He checked and then said there was a note saying yes, I was checking in, and not to ask why. Then he wanted to charge for the room, and I had to get him to check again so he could see the credit. He apologised and I get it, I just really didn't want to be in the lobby explaining my husband was dead...again.
