This hotel is very nice and decorated well. You can definitely tell that you are staying at a Versace designer hotel and you will notice the comic Versace prints throughout the hotel. The pool area and great and features a sandy "beach like" side to it. The hotel food is great and service is just ok. My only critique is that the hotel is a bit dated and but definitely check out the indoor pools as well. They have a heated one, warm, and cold in a very relaxed area. This is an up market Australian hotel many say the best on the coast. We stayed a lagoon suite. The main point of focus for the hotel is the pool with beach entry and the fountains. I liked swimming in the pool but it may not suit all as it is viewable from the lobby and many guest go to be seen. Good points Try the high tea it is very nice. It has a one hat and two restaurant, a number of bars and self serve restaurant that serves breakfast. We had dinner at Vie the one hat restaurant. The food was well done and worth the hat. The head waiter was exceptional. The staff in the bar where we had high tea were of high standard. Downside They struggle with peak periods which there is very few mainly public holidays and the odd occasion which this happened to be one. We had a large queue for breakfast and had to wait an appreciable time. We did not get the room tidied until around 4pm and I had to ring. But I would come again definitely a good Australian hotel. A great fish shop is next door to the left Pete's fish market don't ask the staff secret from a local and well worth a visit. read more

Most relaxing holiday ever! The staff are on a no rush Gold Coast time, and you get to melt into that rhythm after an hour here. I travelled alone, and all the staff at the hotel from concierge, front desk to everywhere! Were fantastic. They practically kept me entertained on a Saturday night dinner. Food is fresh, cocktails are fun, coffee is yum. Room service is quick. The cabanas and the pool are so lovely. Great spot to enjoy the sunshine. I spent about 2.5 days relaxing here. I did not need anything else! You can order food and drinks, and there are complimentary magazines to entertain you. The rooms are spacious, really well furnished with a huge wardrobe and a lovely soft bed =). The marble bathroom includes a spa bath, and that provides major chill out time. They also have a range of activities on including palazzo pictures. Get a little picnic box whilst watching a movie under the stars (the screen is a little small and high up...) they also had a cooking master class at Vie restaurant. It was a bit rainy in the morning, but Stephanie and the crew managed to work around it! There's always a bit of shopping in the boutique, or just next door at Marina Mirage. To save a few dollars, you can have lunch or dinner from Macca's or one of the restaurants there as well. Great location, including the beach being just across the road. Loved it here, have not had a hotel stay like this in Australia for a while! Am already making a return booking =) read more

Last time I was here was in 2008. As a hotel well, it's simple. Want to be spoilt, pampered and enjoy the comforts of the a probably the nearest thing you'll get to a six star in Australia? Well pop in here. The seafood buffet is simply superb. Fresh and never ending, this is the place you want to be at when you haven't earned for week and need to catch up! Service is excellent Wine list.... Very very nice thank you! This seasons Versace range of plates etc.... Arabesque a beautiful design that entices you to buy some for home. Stayed in a Lagoon Suite and paid an exorbitant amount to go into our bathroom and find excrement on the walls. When we approached the manager, we were given a complimentary high tea and told that was the best they could do. We were not impressed, but accepted the lack lustre compensation. Once we arrived home and upon review of our bill, we discovered that they had charged us for valet parking when the package we purchased had free valet parking included. When I contacted the hotel, they were very flippant about it and said that they would follow it up when they had time. It really was not 5 star treatment and I will never go back. read more

Tacky, cheesy , over priced What do you expect from Versace And ate at the restaurant....WOW...that was like a raping... corn soup was like two spoonfuls and about 30 bucks pork loin was the size of my ciggy pack , dry and can't remember the price but should have stolen the plate for how much I paid... for the record, I am not at all cheap...I travel allover the World, stay in nice places and once had a fancy lunch on a golf course in Yokohama Japan that was more than a thousand dollars a person....that however was amazing....this NOT Save your money, better places to spend it!!! Stayed in Palazzo Versace last 3 days. WOW. What a beautiful hotel. Worth the price. I have stayed in a few 5 Star Hotels for work and this has to be in the top 3. It's very clean and staff are friendly and very helpful. I stayed in Lagoon suit on level 1. Once you step on the balcony you have the lagoon one foot away. Very relaxing place to stay after a very hectic schedule of meetings. The level of service they provided is outstanding. Just a few comments for improvment on a personal note: 1. Would have been good if they had WIFI in room. 2. Other hotels I have stayed in had lotion, toothbrush. Would be good if they add these in the toiletries. 3. Some fruit in the room. read more

A friend of mine recommended me this place for breakfast and I'm so glad I checked it out. At $48 a person, you get an excellent selection of brunch items. Everything from Sushi to Eggs to hollandaise sauce was perfectly made. I highly recommend the sausage, both chicken and beef. Absolutely Fabulous! But requesting a lagoon view is a must! We were upgraded to a suite (separate lounge extra toilet) but it overlooked the road and the Sheraton over the road. Yawn! So asked to be downgraded to a smaller room with Lagoon view which they happily complied with. And the view was magic! Make sure, if it is a special occasion for you, you book direct and mention it when booking (don't leave it till check in). We ended up with a couple of lovely and unexpected surprises for our 15th wedding anniversary. Can't wait to go back. read more

We visited the hotel in January and for a hotel with 5 stars, I was left wondering how on earth did they get that. No one to greet the car and no one to help with luggage or assist on arrival. I can take my own luggage, no issues there, but the 20 min wait to check in (there wasn't a queue, just no staff) was a little long. We arrived in our room to find 2 single beds for my husband and I? After requesting a new room, we were advised the booking should have stated we wanted 1 king bed.....really? Shouldn't we have had to make a special request for 2 single beds? Perhaps this 5 star hotel only accommodates singles. We went to the pool whilst we waited patiently for a new room. There was no table service and no towels. They were not able to find us a room with a double bed, so we found alternative accommodation. Upon trying to check out, again there was no staff at either the check in desk or concierge, after another 20 min wait. The venue looked great, but if there is only single beds and no one to serve you - I wouldn't bother staying here. read more

This hotel is amazing. Everything in the room is made by Versace. They even give you a small Versace perfume daily. The rooms all lead out to a pool. There's even a pool with sand. Their restaurant also has amazing food for every meal. Luxury at every step and service is excellent. read more

We drove our "Mitsubishi ASX" up the Palazzo Versace driveway and felt a little out of place with the 2 "Audis" parked out the front; however this feeling didn't last long as the friendly porters/valet gentlemen helped us out of the car and asked if we needed any assistance with our bags. They gave Pete directions to the car park and I went to check in. I found the reception area a little confusing as there were 2 desk areas in the Lobby but check in was very quick and easy. All of the features of the hotel were well explained, the 3 restaurants, the pool, the spa and the car park, they also informed me of the restaurant times and types of cuisines they served and offered to make any bookings for us. We arrived at our room at the same time as the concierge who was dropping our bags off, he showed us into the room and made sure both of our keys worked so that we wouldn't have to go back down to reception if they didn't work properly (I thought it was really a nice gesture) but now that I think about it, he might have done this to make sure we were going into the right room. The Superior Suite was a remarkable suite, its quiet large compared to standard hotel rooms. There was a small bathroom on the right as you walked in and the wardrobe on the left, walking further into the room you come to the seating area and on the left in the bedroom was a huge bed, walking through the bedroom into the bathroom which was laid with imported marble and had a huge spa bath. All of the shampoo, conditioner, soap and the towels were Versace branded. There was 2 sets of towels, one set was for the bathroom and the other set was for the pool. The more time we spent in the room, the more "Versace Branded" things we noticed, almost every item in the room was Versace, the lounge, table, chairs, desk, the curtains, the bathroom taps.......everything was Versace Branded", right down to the glasses in the minibar! The pool was wonderful, definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The pool is a large lagoon with a small beach with chairs and beanbags on it. There were a few foam mats for floating around the pool on. The pool was "split" into 2 sections by a sign; one section was for adult only and other section for Adults and children. As the only thing separating the 2 sections was the small sign on the side of the pool, the kids in the pool didn't pay much attention to it. We decided to spend a day sitting by the pool so we hired one of the luxurious "water salon cabanas", which was approx. $50 to hire for the day or you can really treated yourself and book one with a package, the packages come with sparkling wine or champagne, sunscreen, water and a fruit platter. Make sure take sunscreen and put it on! We didn't worry about sunscreen as we thought the mesh on the cabana would protect us from the sun, but I don't think it didnt, it just provides some shade - oh well! We got a great tan! We had absolutely no complaints about the food at all; in fact we ate very well! We enjoyed a late lunch at the Vie Bar and Restaurant. Had a Buffet breakfast each morning with a huge selection of hot and cold foods, cereals, pastries and fruit and a staff member would find us a great seat and bring us our coffee. The first night we indulged on the seafood buffet, which was CRAZY (the only word I can think of to explain it!). The Buffet had every type of seafood you could think of, after we had our fill of the seafood and dessert and wine, we had to literally "waddled" around the pool to get some fresh air before heading back to our room and collapsing into a food coma! On our last night we dined at the Palazzo Versace's signature restaurant "Vanitas". Vanitas serves modern Australia food with real silver service. The service was absolutely impeccable, the staff knew everything there was to know about the food and wine and the food was exquisite. We would stay here again In a heart beat! We had a fantastic time! All of the staff were very respectful and very friendly, no one was judgmental or rude. Palazzo Versace opened its doors to their first guest in September 2000 but it certainly doesn't look like a 14 year old hotel, everything looks brand new! Yes a real five-star hotel but I preferred the old colonial style of the Cable Beach Club in Broome. Glorious huge swimming pool and the reception staff posted a postcard to the UK to me for free. We should have asked for a smoking room as it was a squeeze having a fag on the tiny balcony (I think it's called a Julienne or something). Few loud-mouth spivvy types in this hotel. Our room had the most fabulous spa bath and was beautifully decorated with marble. Lovely but I still preferred the greenery and old style of the Cable Beach Club. read more

As an American who has stayed in some of the best hotels in the world I expected so much more! This hotel full of snobby staff! Our room had no phone service, no Internet and a view of a parking lot! They charge extra for everything including $22 for bottle water! I even got kicked out of the lobby for wearing tongs! You are better off taking money and burning it than staying at Versace! read more

Over priced. We travelled 1 hour from Coolangatta to be greeted by an empty seafood buffet at 7:30pm. By buffet they mean 4 small crab pieces, 20ish prawns and a couple of oysters. I have been before and it was great, but it has gone down hill. The staff were not even going to fill the buffet as "it would be a waste". Our table of 4 paid for the sparkling water and left, and we won't go back. read more
