I bought a $2 postcard, and the sales associate said there was a minimum purchase amount to use a card. So I added a $7 magnet for my daughter (two separate households). She then puts the heavy magnet in the same little tiny generic paper bag as the postcard. It would have ruined the card. I asked if I could have a separate bag as we don't even live together. There is a charge if .25 cents for the additional tiny non descriptive brown sleeve bag with no logo. I said just hand me the stuff. I should have just said, forget the sale. As a business owner who buys actual pretty bags with a logo, and doesn't charge my customers for a bag to protect whatever they just bought, seriously, it was just too much. This store is very cute and I intended on buying something. I visited the location in San Francisco on Jefferson St on October 20th at 4:15pm. I overheard the man working tell another customer "no food in the store" which is understandable. I had a small napkin from the ice cream that I had just finished. I had the item in my hand (a onesie) that I wanted to purchase and headed to the check out counter. I asked if I could throw the napkin away in the trash can behind the desk and he started yelling at me "no no no". He continued to be aggressive and rude. I was made so uncomfortable that I no longer wanted to purchase the item. This was a terrible customer experience. This man should not be interacting with potential customers. read more

Such a great little shop filled with tons of cute gifts. The best part is the history of the story of how the store came to be about. All the shops on Pier 39 were missing an essential for cold days... A BLANKET! For silly parents (like myself) who forget to pack something warm for the he baby stroller. BUT, I walked into this shop and was IN LOVE! They had some super original gift items...I wanted to buy every canvas tote bag! I wanted to buy the cute stationaries... I wanted all the little coffee table books and wall art! AND... they had a children's section with books, toys, clothes, and the item I'd searched for... a baby blanket! BUT, what really caught my eye and made me interested in supporting this store more was the Filipino stuff! Especially the children's books! What better way to teach my half Filipino babies about a part of themselves than with books. I read this book to my kids on the drive home. And they were so in to the book that they barrage me with questions. It made my heart sing seeing them take an interest on learning about half of who they are! I'm going to have to come back for the rest of the library! I know other reviews mentioned not so hospitable workers... but my experience on a Saturday afternoon was just the opposite! She greeted me once she saw me. She has the biggest and warmest smile got working in a tourist location. And she offered help if I was looking for anything in particular. This store has so many cute things! They have souvenirs that are nice and that you'd actually want to use. There is a wide array of things that you can't find anywhere else. The salesperson was nice and funny. I was happy to have happened upon the store. The area has lots of touristy places to choose from and this was better than all the others. Omg I absolutely love this place . Came across it while walking on the wharf saw a RBG book in the window and decided to check them out . There are so many super cute items inside ; upon walking on we were greeted by an super tall, warm and welcoming gentleman who gave us some background info on the store and it's owners; he was polite asked us questions recommended some really cool items and had a great sense of humor. There were a lot more items in there that caught my eye however I ended up getting a RBG book; a little baby book about Cancers and a RBG pin my husband came back and picked up some socks . The items in the store are reasonably priced and not like the other touristy places you see along the wharf ; super cute decor they have items for essentially anyone in your family. The gentleman was telling me that they have about 4-5 more shops all located in SF was bummed to hear nothing in the LA area; he did say that they would be more than happy to take phone calls with items that they have in store and ship it down to customers talk about great customer service ! My girlfriend and I went into this store spontaneously since we had just gotten off of work. I saw that this store had some interesting knickknacks and wanted to explore. Boy did I spend a small fortune. Not only is this store Philippine owned, women owned small shop, but they also had an amazing small section of stickers, and pens. It being planner season, these pens were multi-colored and cheap compared to an art store. Customer service was great, my girl and I had a great experience especially when she found F-It Dice. Those have made a great impact on her day to day decisions. Will be going back again. read more

Kind of cool gift shop, book store, greeting card place. This place caught our eye because LOLA means grandmother The greeting cards are unique. It looks like they were made by local artists versus big corporations. Some cards are pretty risqué. I still would get one for my mother an one for my wife. They also had books. They were pretty nice ones that model love for family, but my favorite were the cool Star Wars books that were related to the other books. What I really liked were the items of empowered women as RBG and Maya Angelou. As a husband of a strong woman, our goal is to raise a daughter that can create positivity through her empowerment we bring to her. Check it out. This is the fishermans wharf lola location which is perfect for light giftable shopping. It's also known as LOLA anchorage square. Parking is street only which means there is no parking. There are however some fisherman's wharf associated parking a block or two away which is where most folks who try to drive this way wind up at. Otherwise this is a very walk/bikeable spot. Inside this is a medium to small ish store and while LOLA on columbus has made a specialty of cards this location is very much more on the gift side of things. Don't get me wrong-they have some cute/snarky/wonderful cards but the gift/whimsy collection is way larger. Towels, tea cozies, wine cozies, quality lotions/oils, metal 3d models, puzzles, san francisco monopoly sets, books, socks, San Francisco/California branded mugs/magnets/cups/bowls/xmas ornaments/everything, and a whole lot more are there for the browsing/buying. For the most part the stock isn't just ticky tacky stuff, but actually things that you can use/are more thoughtful. Pricing isn't all that high-while it's possible to get into hundreds of dollars, you can totally get some super cute nifty items in the twenty to forty dollar range. Don't get anything from here, I bought a face mask today, and the lady was not helpful, she was rude and made buy a demo face mask, I mean it was a demo, she did not give one in its package. It was a black young lady. I am very disappointed. Take your business elsewhere. By the way their face and are really small, I recommend you to make your own or get it from amazon. Such a unique store but I was immediately made to feel uncomfortable as the cashier stood no more than a few feet away from me at all times and just stared at me and my family as if we were going to steal something.
