    Poke Sock set $24
    Douglas Y.

Cute little shop with a large variety of unique items. Many hand made crafts and even clothing. Prices are reasonable for SF and didn't prevent me from buying a set of Poke Socks. Socks disguised as a bowl of poke lol. There was a hand made coffee mug that I really wanted but I couldn't force myself to pay $48.50 for a mug. If your looking for unique stuff come give them some business. You

You just need to look in the windows and get drawn in. There is something for everyone on your list (even yourself)! Home decor (yes!), clothing & accessories (yes!), pet (yes!) or new born baby gifts (yup!)? Picnic has got it all in an attractive two boutique shop setting. Guys, need a gift for a gal in your life? Stop by Picnic and the sales staff will help you! Need to bring a little cheer to family or friends stuck inside? How about a candle that'll transport them to the bucolic outdoors or fine urban/arboreal scents of San Francisco's neighborhoods (!). Picnic has custom made candles that smell like various neighborhoods in the City! What? There are grab & go gift boxes of these... no excuse to not give a quality present. Spend your time ticking gifting needs off your list at Picnic. You'll feel like Santa bearing gifts & getting lots of happy smiley faces from recipients!

I don't know why I even check out other stores for gifts. I always end up at Picnic! They have a great selection of gifts especially for someone you think that you don't know what to get them...until you go here! I usually go here when I have someone difficult to shop for. Oh and they also help me gift wrap (see pic)! The staff is super friendly and helpful. On today's visit, I was struggling to think of a last minute birthday gift for my friend. She happens to be a fan of whiskey but I didn't want to just buy any bottle of whiskey for her as I'm unsure what kind she'd like or what kind would be gift-worthy. I found a nice guide to whiskey book and two fun whiskey tumblers. She happens to be starting a new business so the "manifest that shit" whiskey tumbler makes the gift even more thoughtful. They have an online store but I'm unsure if all their merchandise is online. I always find better gift ideas when I'm at the physical store. Go here for thoughtful, unique, stylish, tasteful, and fun gifts!

the stuff here is TOO cute! definitely boutique pricing but I loved everything. It felt like they put a lot of love into this place in curating and displaying. They have premade gift boxes that would be perfect for the holidays.

This store has a lot of cute and unique items, but LACKS on the customer service. Who wants to shop in a store and feel like you are being closely monitored, as if you're going to steal?! The shop girl didn't say a single word, hello, or smile to me. As soon as a new customer walked into the store, she greeted them in a friendly way. I noticed from reading other reviews, that maybe she only greets every other customer that comes in??? Anyways, I put the rude customer service aside because I found some cute items and didn't care so much. Great jewelry!!!!!!! I picked up the perfect belt & necklace. Clothes are just ok & a bit overpriced, jewelry is pretty reasonable, love their local artist jewelry, and they have great cards and misc. items you can get as gifts. I'll be back, but will not count on a friendly welcome from the "hall monitors".... ;)

    Broken candlestick holders

I purchased three small, clay, candlestick holders (each $24), that I really liked. They were carefully wrapped in the store and carefully unwrapped when I got home. However, each cracked as I placed candles (that I had also just purchased at Picnic), into the candlestick holders.  I was shocked and disappointed.    Picnic was contacted the same day and I followed-up with an email and picture showing the broken candlestick holders. I requested a refund to my credit card for the price of the candlestick holders. I will keep the candles. I was told that I must spend two hours driving into the City, search for parking, and feed the meter to return broken candlestick holders. Why? Picnic "will need to take a look at the candlestick holders to determine how they broke and possibly send back to our manufacturer." Hmm, I've learned two things in our correspondence, 1) they don't believe me when I told them how this happened and 2) what I thought were handmade items were manufactured.

$50 belt, well worth it! gorgeous

I really like Picnic because: 1) They're walking distance from my place. 2) Things are good quality. 3) Their price point is higher, but not so ridiculous that you would ONLY look at the sale rack (and by they way they still have a great sale rack). 4) One room for clothes/jewelry, another room for cute knick-knacks and gifts (think Urban Outfitters gift section but in better taste, not necessarily witty/funny stuff, more classy & good taste). It's one of those places where I've only bought a few items, spent a little more, but it they've all been totally worth it because I've put them all to good use and they're still in great shape. One of my faves is this leather/stretchy belt, which cost $50 but has been worth every penny: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/pNpZSZSVxk0MS_ix8lqwlQ?select=URKfODPEsbUDktP7tqsRVg#URKfODPEsbUDktP7tqsRVg Best part is I didn't even find this on my own - I was trying on a dress I'd seen in the window display and one of the clerks suggested I pair it with the belt. I ended up liking it so much I ditched the dress and just got that belt!

Super adorable rings for only $8!

The stores are super cute, there are things to do, there are restaurants as well as good quick eats (like the mini donut shop - oh my gosh that's so good - and a cute retro candy shop at the end of the pier. Additionally, the views at the end of the pier are magical, and you get to view it with songs from the sealions! There are also magic shows at the pier you can watch for free and a large carousel! Pier 39 is 100%, touristy, but it is still festive and fun, whether you're an out-of-towner or a local resident. The only downsides are the prices (because this area is a tourist trap) and the parking. Here are some tricks and tips: Look for coupons for some of the pier activities (ie, coupon books, Groupon, and even on the ads in the local map they give you for free). I've found coupons for the Aquarium By the Bay, restaurants, the mirror maze thingy, and The Flyer. You can also go to the Visitor Center office on the 2nd floor of the pier! Just ask politely for coupons, and they'll usually have something. (They gave me 20% off some nice restaurants last time.) As for parking, be careful with street parking because if you are even a minute late, I swear, you'll find a ticket on your windshield! The city ticket workers are like hawks. There is a Pier 39 parking garage that is the closest but costs a lot. You can look for open parking lots further away, like at hotels, which can be cheaper. If you are able to walk, that may be a good option -- or better yet, take public transportation when you can. That is part of the San Francisco experience! One more tip: if it's your first time there, bring a lock to put at the end of the pier! (See photo) There are definitely a multitude of photo opps here!

We came at night time so the first thing we did was eat at Wipeout. We had a great experience dining there. There also small vendors on the Pier selling hot dogs and other small food as well. After we finish eating, my wife wanted to shop at some of the stores here. It's a nice walk to do at the Pier, especially if the weather is nice. My wife wanted to try some gelato ice cream but they already closed. She got some gifts at the small shops here and so did her mom. I used the public restroom here and it wasn't too bad.
