Yes, that is an emu next door
Victor M.

We were visiting the Redwoods and Prairie State Parks and wanted to stop in Klamath to go through their Drive-thru tree. Across the street is a delightful local diner that is also right off Hwy 101 with the friendliest of people. The place had a good size crowd for a late lunch hour so we knew that the food had to be good here. The food was absolutely worth the stop. I had the cabin burger which is a BBQ burger with cheese that melted in my mouth and was as tasty as ever. The sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection. Another one of us had the chicken fried steak which was a deep fried juicy pork loin which was incredible. Portions were certainly generous and worth the price. Overall, the patrons appeared to be very satisfied and happy diners and understandably as the food and service were excellent. If I lived in the area, I would probably eat breakfast and lunch every day at the Log Cabin Diner! And be sure to check out the emus next door!!

We drove down today from CC for breakfast and honestly did not expect the kind service and really good food. The pancaked were pretty great, the kind with the crispy edges but super thick and fluffy. We enjoyed the food only downside was the wait, with one cook anytime you gave more than three tables it can get backed up.

Love this place! Very cozy people and environment here. They also have big birds outside.

Oh Yum!!! What a gem in the tiny town of Klamath. The diner is directly off the 101 and you will miss it if not keeping an eye out. It is ran by wonderful ladies that have quick wit and make you comfortable the second you walk in the door. Great home style cooking with fresh ingredients. The diner is clean and well appointed. They are obviously proud of what they have. Ample parking is available and there is counter seating along with a small front and larger rear dining room. We will definitely return if in the area again.

Almost perfect Eggs Benedict, high praise as I'm crazy picky. Sorry, dove right in before realizing I might want to recommend it to others.

Ate here this afternoon after parking in their lot and walking up to the 'tour thru tree'. I was hungry for french fries, so I schmoozed hubby to pop in for just fries & a drink. Well, we were greeted as if we were regulars by the adorable curly blonde lady (embarrassed I've already forgotten her name). I smelled the coffee and had to have a cup, which turned into a pot by the time I left! Hubby was thrilled to discover breakfast is served all day, so we decided to eat a meal instead of just fries. Hubby ordered the French Toast full breakfast. I'm extremely picky about Eggs Benedict, but decided to give it a whirl. I was thrilled with my choice to risk it...they were close to perfect. The hollandaise was wonderful and the eggs were great, the yolk a tiny bit too 'done', but still great. Hubby scarfed his down...when asked how it was, he said 'great'! We interacted with both servers & they were both so kind. I felt like we were regulars, which I adore! My only regret is that we have been staying in a near-ish campground for the last 2 weeks and just now found this spot! We leave for Oregon tomorrow, so we won't be back for a couple years...had we found this place sooner, we would be leaving several pounds heavier, as I figure the rest of the menu is just as tasty! Big huge plus on the friendly staff!

Excellent service from Sheri and just as wonderful food, we came in on a rainy morning in march to a lovely diner ready to serve and bring out a smile. The small homey feel of the diner has logging and fishing ambiance from its rich historic past. Highly recommended this this establishment if you're coming through the area.

We were on vacation in Arcata seeing the redwoods when we decided to drive up into the mountains. We had been driving for over an hour and were getting pretty hungry (as was our 9 yo). Upon review of our available options we decided to try out the Log Cabin Diner in Klamath. We were not disappointed. Overall the food was good and the service was great. We had the biscuits and gravy and our son had the chili (a bold move). We are just about everything they put in front of us. None of it was exceptionally great food but it sure hit the spot. The best part for us was the emus they have in a field next to the restaurant. They were walking along the fence line right behind us and were a lot of fun to watch. If you find yourself up in the mountains and need a bit to eat then this is the place for you.

Country fried steak and eggs with toast and hash

The food, service, and ambience of this little diner is the best in the town! So glad we decided to stop by for breakfast after our hike. Definitely 10/10 recommend if you are in the area. The food: I ordered the Clam Chowder with a side salad and received a thoughtful cup of dried cranberries and dressing on the side which I so appreciated!); the clam chowder was very meaty and full of flavor--this was exactly what I needed after our rainy and cold morning hike! So delish! I would definitely order this again or even an extra to go. My husband ordered the country fried steak and eggs over easy along with toast and hash. Everything was perfectly made. This was also the first time we've seen pork chop used for this dish and were very surprised how moist the pork chop was! We ordered The Cabin burger for my son and he said this was his favorite dish/burger for the entire trip! So good! For my little guy, we ordered the kids cheeseburger with fries--my photo is the fries partially eaten already because he was so hungry he couldn't wait for me to take a food picture (lol). I didn't take a photo of the other dishes, but everyone did agree this was our favorite stop of the trip! The service: We were greeted and accommodated right away. The ladies running the shop were kind, respectful, and attentive. We were a group of 12 (6 kids and 6 adults) but that wasn't a problem. There was a long wait for the food, but we didn't mind since we knew there was only one chef and 12 of us--we were also checked on frequently and we always received refills for our coffee and drinks. We were asked each time if there was anything else we needed while we waited for our food. The chef even offered to redo our bacon for us if we'd like since it was a little on the crispy side, but that was exactly how our kids preferred their bacon--so kind and attentive! The ambience: This little diner is the perfect quiet and secluded small town stop. It wasn't packed and it felt really relaxed. The extra touch of emu and hummingbirds outdoors gave this diner an extra special vibe, too! Absolutely recommend stopping by and eating here.

While visiting the Redwood State Parks, we had breakfast here twice. The food here tastes homemade and the service is great! My wife enjoyed her Eggs Benedict, my daughter enjoyed her pancakes and all of us enjoyed the eggs and Hash Browns. Coffee was hot and our food came out quickly. We rarely go back to the same restaurant twice when on vacation so this place is unique. If you stop by, ask for some bread to feed the emus!

Biscuits & Gravy

Great service and food!! Ordered the Chicken Fried Steak & Biscuits and Gravy was so amazing. Portions are generous! Didn't need to add salt or pepper flavor was on point. Coffee was so delicious! Staff shared photos and stories. Love this place!

Highly recommend this small town diner. All day breakfast, great customer service, and the food hit the spot. Thanks, Ms. Rachel; my son really enjoyed feeding your emu.

We were in the area exploring the redwoods when lunchtime rolled around. There weren't many options…read morenearby, but the Log Cabin Diner stood out on Yelp. We figured we might get a decent diner lunch. We ended up liking it so much that we came back the next day. The staff greeted us warmly and told us to sit anywhere. The place has the feel of a small-town roadside diner, with a counter, a handful of tables and even a petting zoo next door. It was clean and well kept, with locals and travelers eating side by side. I ordered the Klamath cheeseburger, and my spouse chose a breakfast with fry bread after seeing a photo of it. Then a tall, fluffy pancake arrived at the next table, and we wondered if we'd ordered the wrong thing. We hadn't. The portions were generous, my burger was delicious, and my spouse loved the fry bread. Even the tater tots stood out: crunchy outside and creamy inside. We went back the following day to try what we'd missed. I had the chicken fry bread taco, which reminded me of a cholupa (but better) My spouse finally got the pancake breakfast, along with a peanut butter milkshake. The portions were just as generous, the food was delicious and the staff was every bit as friendly. If we're back in the area, we won't have to search Yelp for lunch. We'll be heading straight to the Log Cabin.

In many respects, Log Cabin provides a typical diner experience: the same plates of eggs, hash…read morebrowns, and sausage gravy, large portions, and the ever present table side jam collection. But in other ways, they've managed to distinguish themselves from the rest (and that's not counting the two emus they have outside). They offer two relatively uncommon dishes: fry bread, which comes in a shareable size topped with cinnamon sugar, and a giant pancake. The emphasis is really on the cake, as this behemoth is over an inch tall and probably owes its perfectly cylindrical shape to a cake mold. Order just one at a time! The rest of the offerings are rather standard, but they are still quite enjoyable. You'll leave stuffed, that's for sure.

Great lunch spot right across from the harbor!…read more We had a nice, cozy lunch break here. The restaurant serves solid, traditional American fare with good portion sizes--everything our family ordered was tasty and filling. 1. What we ate: My husband had the California Benedict, I got the Santa Fe Scramble, and the kids ordered from the kids' menu (pancake with hard-boiled eggs, and a classic egg scramble with bacon, hash browns, and toast). Kid pancake came with scramble eggs but they acomódate my youngest request and he got hard boiled egg instead. 2. Drinks: Peach smoothie, white mocha, and regular drip coffee. They also have a full coffee bar on-site. Vibe & Tip: The decor is rustic and charmingly local, featuring indigenous artwork, antler light fixtures, and comfortable wooden chairs. The interior is a bit dated and the restrooms could use a little attention, but the atmosphere is cozy overall. Pro tip: Ask to sit upstairs for a great view of the marina! We'd definitely eat here again if we're back in the area.

The worst part was that the restaurant was so dark I saw someone using their phone to light up the book they were reading. Service wasn't bad, but maybe going here for breakfast is a better idea. My friend had been raving about their clam chowder, so you already know that was going to be an absolute must. Then the host mentioned one of their specials was a BLT with heirloom tomatoes and basil aioli. Say less. She had me at BLT. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder and the BLT, while my friend went with the clam chowder bread bowl and a side salad. My chowder arrived well before my friend's bc they were still toasting her bread bowl. Unfortunately, enjoying my soup became a bit of a waiting game bc the soup spoon I was given was visibly dirty. I asked our server for a replacement, but it never came. By the time we asked another server for a spoon, my chowder had started cooling enough that a film was forming on top. Not exactly how I wanted to start my lunch. The chowder was still warm enough to enjoy. It was pretty flavorful, and I appreciated that there was a generous amount of clams. Nothing worse than potato chowder posing as clam chowder. Definitely not the case here. I also had a taste of my friend's bread bowl, and I can see why she enjoys that version. That garlic butter on the toasted bread definitely elevates things. Now, let's talk about that BLT. First off, I LOVE a great BLT. When our server brought mine out, my jaw dropped bc I was NOT expecting a double-decker sandwich. This thing was massive! I loved the use of heirloom tomatoes, but the basil aioli was a bit much for me. Each layer of bread had a hefty spread, and it completely overpowered the bacon. I eventually gave up on the sandwich as a whole and just ate the bacon and tomatoes. And that's when I realized they weren't using thick-cut bacon either. Next time, I'd definitely ask them to hold the basil aioli and give me good ol' mayo instead. Sometimes you just want your BLT to taste like a BLT. Despite a few misses with our lunch, I can appreciate what Trinidad Bay Eatery has going for it. It has that nostalgic, homey feel of a longtime mom and pop spot, and judging by the number of people waiting to be seated, they've clearly built themselves a following. Would I come back? Yes. There's enough on the menu that I'd be willing to give something else a try. And if that BLT special makes another appearance, I know exactly how I'm ordering it next time.
