On a recent visit with my daughter, all three staff including the owner stopped everything they were doing to help my daughter find a few new pieces to begin her new job. They carefully chose items which not only fit my daughter perfectly, but reflected her personality and age. One day I stopped in to buy a gift with thirty dollars to spend. The owner basically brushed me off in a cavalier way saying there really wasn't anything in her store for that price. She didn't try to work with me. She was also rude to her employee who had helped me buy clothing in the past. I will not shop there anymore. I then drove to Litchfield and shopped at Workshop, Inc. The choices extensive. I found the perfect gift there. I then purchased over five hundred dollars worth of clothing for myself and for upcoming gifts. The lady that helped me was wonderful. She spent a long time with me and gave honest opinions on the items. I have since had great experiences at Workshop.

They make the handbags hard to ignore since it's the first thing you see when you walk in. This Kate Spade handbag was PERFECT for fall and only cost me $70, I couldn't say no! We walked around the store and they had their fall and Halloween decorations out. They had a great selection of seasonal decor, it definitely got me in the mood for autumn! We checked out with a couple more goodies and my new purse. The cashier told me that the bag I got was put on the shelf only two hours prior and everyone had their eye on it. I'm not sure what their delivery days are, but if you're on the hunt for some awesome bargains it may be worth finding out so you can get your hands on the good stuff before anyone else! With only 2 weeks til prom, we were worried. She immediately found like 10 beautiful dresses to try on. She narrowed it down to 3 after much deliberation - they were all so beautiful! The staff was so helpful and friendly. They were attentive and gave honest feedback. They knew their merchandise well. There were 4 customers in the shop at one time while we were there and I watched them give good, attentive service to each of them. The dresses they have on the racks are sample dresses and range from size 2 to 14, though most are in the 2-8 range. So if you're not tiny you'll have trouble trying things on, but they can order any dress you like in your size and many of them are available in multiple colors. Heads up though that it can take 4-5 weeks to order a dress, so leave yourself plenty of time and order a few months in advance if you can. You never know if things will be held up these days in shipping. We finally managed to choose 1 and it's so gorgeous. They let us buy it off the rack since we didn't have time to order one (It was a sample). It's a size too big, but we'll be able to get it altered in time. The employees gave us the name of a good tailor they work with. It seems like the prices have gone up by about $100-$150 more than what I remember from 2018. The dress we chose was $520, which was about $120 more than I expected to spend, but the dress is absolutely beautiful on her and we didn't have to go looking all over CT. One and done! That's worth something. I read a lot of the other reviews on here and was surprised to see one star ratings and bad experiences with the staff. Our experience could not have been better. Some people complained that their daughters were unable to go try stuff on without their mothers there- I can see where that would be annoying, but these are very expensive dresses, and I'm sure they don't want groups of girls coming in and trying things on for fun. The more people try them on, the more worn out the dress gets, then they have to discount it to sell it. We looked at a few that had broken zippers or unraveling stitches (in the spaghetti string ties that lace up the back) from too many try-ons. So they don't want casual shoppers handling them and trying them on- it's more wear and tear. So please be considerate of the business and adjust your expectations. If you do, you'll find experienced, helpful staff and a store full of beautiful dress options!
