Altar'd State The Avenue West Cobb - Believe it or not but this is the the brightest lighting. The rest were significantly darker. And it's the accessible.

So this was my first experience at this location. It is larger than others in Atlanta. Seems to have most of the online stock in store. Clean. Big sale section which is sort like a bomb went off...stuff everywhere falling off of wracks and shelves. But I have to say the employees don't seem to know anything about their job or store or policies. While there I asked 3 questions and they didn't decide to answer to any of them (or they couldn't but also did bother to find an answer) I asked specific ally about a pair of pants they had on an mannequin and I was walked around the whole store, shuffled to 3 different employees and nope...couldn't find it. Also just was like I don't know what those are to even try to look them up had I asked. I did try a few items on and it's worth mentioning that there was no in the fitting rooms, I don't care about this hit from a loss prevention point it's not great, and they are all SO SO DARK. I have 0 issues with my site but these were cavelike. I ended up in the assessable room (I was the only person in the fitting room for the duration of my trying on) which made me a little uncomfortable but it was the inky one that had anything remotely considered to be close to normal lighting. I included a photo of me in the fitting so you can the lighting in the "brightest" room. There was also a shelf that wasn't actually attached the wall that almost fell on me. I caught it but had I not it could have actually hurt me or someone else. I told an employee about it and she just went "oh...I girl I'll let someone know" and walked away. This was an adult...Kind if wild. Altered state isn't really geared towards my age bracket (30s) that's fine but they maybe need to have someone working that can answer basic questions customers may have. Gage it an added star because they did have more floor space and seems to have more stock than other Atlanta locations.

As you shop the racks, you will also run across displays of kitschy home decor with humorous and inspirational spiritual quotes. I scored an adorable striped sweater off the sale rack and a stretchy bangle bracelet that I have already received several compliments on. As I was checking out, I noticed a display of Giving Keys, which clued me in to Altar'd State's philanthropic efforts. Super sweet store! I will definitely be back!

During the transaction, the website generated a random email to send the confirmation which I could not change. Since my time zone is 3 hours away I call again the next day and was told I already had the email. I asked her to resend it, which seemed simple enough, but CLAUDIAHEAD CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER | DRESS UP CORPORATE would not. I was only given the number and the amount which would not present well. I asked for the funds back. Yes, disappointed!

I don't think it's fair that you can only get your bday coupon on your birthday it should be the whole month like other places. Some people can't make it out on their birthday! The sales associate wasn't that friendly today and that's not the first time a sales associate treated me this way. I tried to disregard it because it's not that many places to shop anymore. I still think I'll take my business elsewhere. The manager even thanked me for shopping with them and spending a lot. It's said that they have people working in there. Their prices are too high to get that level of treatment they give. So today I didn't spend that much because I didn't spend that much because I dint like the way I was treated. The sales associates working there need a little bit more training on how to deal with all kinds of customers. This is the west Cobb avenue location.

I felt like two of the salesgirls / saleswomen stalked me because they thought I was gonna steal one of their 'hand-made, unique pieces." Insert eye roll. Both salesgirls were attractive (in a natural / 'modelesque' way), thin, young- looking blondes. They were standing around talking loudly with someone (customer? friend? manager?) when I entered - but they abandoned that conversation as I headed towards the back. Salesgirl 1 approached me and asked if she could help me find anything. When I responded, she said, quite loudly, that they didn't have any. Less than 90 seconds later, Salesgirl 2 approached me and asked if she could help me find anything. Unless Salesgirl 2 has hearing issues - I found it unnecessary and odd that she would follow me and ask me a question that I had clearly already answered. I hung around for a few minutes - just to keep them on their toes - but I decided NOT to shoplift anything today. Lol. If you don't want to be ignored - try black-face or an afro - they'll smother you with attention! To end things on a positive note - the store interior and aesthetics are pretty nice. The textured, unpolished cement floors, horse fashioned from driftwood - the mannequins with big poofs of hydrangeas simulating afros - it was all lovely.

Don't be fooled by the nice looking entrance areas. I've been twice in the last couple of months and each time I walk away frustrated that it took so much effort to find what I was looking for. For example, in the petite section it is over half full of clearance racks that are packed and "organized" by color rather than size. Not helpful. Everything in multiple sections of the store are crowded and mixed up making it hard to find a particular size or brand. It is like having to walk through a maze to get anywhere. I went into the dressing room area today and while it wasn't overrun with unwanted clothes, the floor is separating and the area just looks tired and old. Obviously they don't have enough help or maybe they just don't care about the general experience walking through and using the store for customers. It has been disappointing to see the decline of a once nice store.
