Something got lost in the translation…read more Drove down to Marietta a couple of weeks ago to meet our new Granddaughter for the first time. All of 11 days old. We did not want to pick up a cake in Cornelius and then drive for at least four hours with it on a hot June day even with air-conditioning so we came up with a compromise. My wife went up to the local Publix less than a mile from here and picked out a cake along with decorations. They had exactly what she wanted. The order was entered for pickup at the Publix which is one of the two that are close to where my son and his family live in Marietta. Would have been a good plan if executed properly. We went by the Publix and went to the bakery and yes they had the cake ready but in no way did it resemble the cake we picked out. Wrong size to the point that the little children's blocks which were suppose to adorn the top did not even fit on the cake and had to be packaged separately We were already late getting there because we were also picking up pizza for lunch so we took it anyway. The cake was good and with the joyous occasion, probably no one noticed but we did because this was suppose to be a special occasion.

It is your standard RaceTrac location, one that has been here for several years and while it has gotten updates over the years, you can still see the aged wear and tear around the parking lot and inside. However, for the most part it is well kept and cleanliness has never been an issue when I stopped here. Service is hit and miss at this location with miss being more than hit. Overall, I enjoy RaceTrac as a brand, but given the continued service issues here, I would rather swing through another nearby RT or QT location.

Thought maybe I just didn;t pay attention to the price on one idem so I went back in to sheck. The price on the shelf for the item was $34, I was charged $84. I got an employee and all the ticket prices on that that shelf were wrong. I returned the item, manager was polite but no "I'm sorry" or I will follow up and see what happened, just refunded my money. The extra bad thing was I went back to check the item again and they had not removed the wrong price tags. So someone else will pickit up go to the counter and be overcharged. This is the 3rd time in that Walgreens I have been overcharged for an item. This time it was enough for me to return it. The stores convenient but not worth the issues. Watch your purchases if you chose to shop there. I could have bought the item on Amazon but I like to use the store, so now I have wasted my time and still have to get it online,

Books for Africa is one of my favorite charities in Atlanta and such an easy way to get involved! I…read morefirst began volunteering here in law school, but have come back a couple of times a year since. When you volunteer at Books for Africa, you're tasked with sorting bins and bins of books, organizing them, and packaging them to prepare for shipment to Africa. I always get involved in the sorting stage because I think it's most fun to dig through the boxes and decide where each book belongs. You'll also screen for appropriate subject matter, completeness of books, toss garbage that made its way into the donated boxes, etc. There are SO many categories of books they ship to Africa so there's oftentimes some discretion on what category a particular book belongs in. Not to worry--there are always friendly Books for Africa employees making their rounds through the warehouse to help you decide. The work is fairly routine once you get into the swing of things so you can chat with others volunteering--whether they're part of your group or not! You can also totally show up on your own and they'll keep you plenty busy for a couple hours. Definitely recommend taking some time to volunteer here!
