I don't know why I even bother trying to go to this particular Loft store. I rarely have a pleasant experience here. Unhelpful staff that basically act like you are some nuisance pest daring to browse their personal wares. It's frustrating. Is aloof-at-best part of the training model at Loft?
I was in there yesterday because the Loft website said that a particular dress I wanted was in stock at that store only, so I ventured to GP to give this store another try. I wandered around the store for like ten minutes looking for this dress to no avail. No one greeted me or asked me if I needed help at any time, but I eventually did need help locating said dress. So I asked one of the sales staff if she knew where I could find this dress. And she gives me some big lecture on how it's actually part of their December stock in the back so it's not available yet. Which didn't make a lot of sense since they had a bunch of Christmas sweaters on the table right at the front already, mid-October, and online it said it was available.
So I replied, "Oh, it says on the website if I ordered it online and pick up in the store, it would be ready in two hours."
And her response was classic, "Well that's how long it would take me to look through the 40 boxes in the back to find it."
Um, okay. Every website has a two hour turnover time for online orders you pick up in store, so this was a load of garbage. This was pretty egregious behavior, in my opinion, so I just wandered away. I don't want anything to do with people like that. It's disappointing, and frustrating. And I don't want to feel needlessly angry at annoying, passive-aggressive Karen's over a piece of fabric. I'm making my way out of the store, and she approaches me in a very huffy manner, "Um could you tell me your size to I can start looking for it now?"
To which I reply, "No thanks, I'm just going to order it online."
At this point, she then says, "Oh sorry we couldn't help you out this time!"
What is wrong with everyone?! This was such a pointless and sad interaction. I hate being treated like a nuisance by customer service staff, especially when I'm polite and friendly, and their literal job is to do stuff like grabbing items from the back for customers. I was just at Victoria's Secret at Macomb Mall a few days prior and couldn't find some underwear that were on the mannequins, but not in the drawers. So I asked the salesperson where I could find them, and she told me they weren't out yet, but she would bring them out in my size. She returned after maybe five minutes or so with every color and style in my size. Then went back and found a few more on top of it, without me even asking! This is just the difference in individuals. I had no different tone or attitude when asking either women for these items, it's just how they felt about me, or their jobs, or who knows.
And I hate being obviously lied to by someone who just doesn't give a crap. And speaking of crap, is there a reason why the entire front door of this store is covered in bird crap?! Like there were at least thirty streaks of bird crap spattered over the front double doors. It's disgusting, but I guess if you can't be bothered to look in the back for a dress, you're surely not going to clean the windows or call a company to do so.
Just don't go here. Go literally anywhere else. read more
