I went into Samira's Upscale Consignment Boutique on the search for a dress to wear for a family wedding. I'm 30, for reference (that will be relevant in a minute). The store itself was very charming, and the owner was very helpful and friendly. The store was clean, there was only one other person shopping, and overall it was a good experience. With that said... I wouldn't recommend coming here if you are looking for something on the more modern, or "youthful" side of designer clothes. You aren't going to find any off-white here... I could tell that the demographic of the store is definitely geared towards a more mature shopper. (I mean no offense in saying that at all). If you are looking for accessories, then I would highly recommend it for any age. But as far as their clothing goes, I wouldn't recommend it for teenagers or even 20 year olds. I did end up purchasing a dress, but ended up wearing one that was borrowed from a family member. I definitely will be checking the store out again, but probably not for a special event. Maybe for a new coat, purse, shoes, accessories. I have never tried to sell any of my clothes to this consignment boutique, so I cannot speak to there rules and consignment details. My Mother (who is 93 years young), took in five coats that Samira decided not to sell since they were not "current." That is fine, but when my Mom went back to pick up her items, they were in a heap on the floor. One coat now had a stain as well, that it did not have when we dropped them off with a different employee a day or two earlier. Samira was rude to my mother, and did not care that the coat, which had never been worn, was damaged in her care. Obviously, I would not recommend this business. If you have items on consignment, I can only hope they treat your items with the respect they deserve as someone else's property, and not the manner in which she handled my Mom's. read more

Pretty over priced in terms of used. I would say, it's like buying new "on sale" prices. Products are in decent condition, store is clean, but I won't be going back, because I'd rather buy new for the price. The owner runs the store and she does seem to be proud of it. UPSCALE ITEMS FOUND HERE that are not always available in MI stores...I have been a customer for years (that being said, I may only go into the shop once or twice during a year), but I have always found items I wanted at great prices! As a shopper, many of the items she carries are things I have not seen in stores in MI and she only has TOP quality pieces. This place is amazing. I was looking for a Chanel bag for a gift. I am not very astute in this area and I was not expecting the prices these things have on them. Well, as I was researching online the various styles I came across this place located in Grosse Pointe. They had several bags available and the prices were very good. I'm glad I took the time to go there and visit becasue I was able to get a basically brand new Chanel bag for a really good deal. Tried to shop here today and the owner's sister demanded a cash payment so she can avoid credit card fees - really? That's the cost of doing business. I own a small business and would never treat a customer like that. She said they are going to start charging fees to clients even to cover the credit card processing!? Crazy. Samira is the owner and she is such a pain to deal with - if you ever go in here and ask her "how are you" all you will hear is her (sob) life story of her husband and her daughter - and how wonderful her daughter is - blah blah. Their pricing is high as well - last time I went in, I found a purse I wanted but went online and bought the same exact one at a much better price. If you love high-end fashion, this is the place. They carry Louboutin, Chanel, Gucci, Prada items just name a few. This is probably a great place to find a special dress for that occasion. I even saw a few vintage pieces. Joanne, my salesperson, was helpful and friendly. The layout of the store is good - dress and high-end separated by middle and casual. Regarding the prices, they are not cheap, but they are probably in line to what a typical consignment store would charge. read more
