Yesterday, Friday November 8, 2024 I sang songs written by author/musician Heather Buchanan and Tracy Kash for Heather's newest novel titled, VICTORS. It is about Black musicians who went to France to help fight in World War I. Ultimately, they were largely responsible for our victory and when they weren't fighting they were playing music, sharing the new jazz sound which influenced not only Europe but the world. My dress, purse, fan, long strand of pearls and headpiece, all purchased from the Peacock Room in the Park Shelton were a smash hit! Definitely for the working man. It's my own belief that they're clothes are meant to be worn a million times and will age well. The fabric dye may fade over time but in a very cool vintage type. Again, quality. Sales people are very helpful at this location. My first time coming here I was thrown off because the guys they have folding clothes don't speak or acknowledge customers at all. But I later realize, I think, that it's because they have a sales staff to give customer service. Oh and great prices. Just amazing what you can get for under 180 bucks. I can't wait to come back.

They carry a whole bunch of handmade stuff from local crafters - jewelry,apparel, dog collars and leashes, paper goods, art, and more. Most items are Detroit themed - a variety of tshirt designs sporting the Detroit Muscle and Defend Detroit slogans. And speaking of shirt designs, Goods will help you create your very own design while you wait. Shirts, bags, hoodies, etc....choose your font, choose your color, choose your style, and walk out with your custom clothing creation. Upon first browse I bought a bracelet for a friend, made of recycled Starbucks gift cards (can't picture it? neither could I before I saw it. Go to the store and check it out!), and there are at least 3-4 other items I have my eye on and may be returning for in the near future.
