I think it's dog-friendly as we saw someone with their cute pup inside shopping. The space was open and not too cluttered, which I always appreciate since I can get kind of overwhelmed in vintage/antique shops. Each area was nicely curated and it was easy to tell where each "booth" started and ended. I saw a variety of housewares, clothing, decor, etc. and had fun looking around finding some treasures. We didn't end up buying anything this time, but would definitely stop in again next time we're in the area.

I love chatting with them about the vintage treasures from around the country and even the local artists they support. They are all very knowledgeable about the healing crystals and stones and the energy is always flowing during the visit. I think it's working because I always leave in a good mood with a "new" vintage treasure for myself. Also, they have a feather bar! Yes, feathers! You can pick your favorite feathers and put them in a vase for decor. Such a cool idea and the feathers are ethically sourced! I highly recommend anyone visiting Detroit for the day to make sure you stop by it's worth it and truly magical.

When I looked on Yelp, I only saw a few photos of different crystals. I decided to still give it a look, and I am glad that I did. The interior is absolutely beautiful. The energy within feels great. The staff are super helpful and happy. They definitely dress in style as well. They were all very sweet and talkative. They were giving us information on different crystals and other items. My sister was asking about the vegan soaps, and they smelled really good. They had some other items as well such as clothing and jewelry. The candles smelled amazing as well. I really love the design of this place. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into it. I did find some super awesome pieces that I have not seen at other shops, which was awesome. I came back a second time to pick up a few more pieces as well.

We've driven by it a few dozen times and it never caught our eye. The first thing I noticed were the jewelry counters! Jacob immediately knew we were in trouble, because I LOVE shiny things. They had a huge selection of vintage brooches, pins and other fine baubles. The floor space isn't very large but it's well-curated. There isn't "junk" here like so many antique shops tend to keep. Retro Image owns all of its items outright, which means more room for haggling! The prices seemed a little high, but again, we were able to negotiate a bit when it came time to check out AND the items were nice. In addition to all sorts of jewelry, they had an entire rack of vintage clothing in great shape, tons of leaded, bevel-edged glass panels, artwork, a basement bar set (!!), wooden furniture and branded memorabilia. The clerk, Chris, was incredibly kind and patient while showing me all different brooches behind the glass. He said their stock rotates constantly, so I'm looking forward to many more visits to Retro Image.

Every section feels intentional, from the graphic tees to the retro jackets and rare sportswear finds. You can tell they actually care about quality and authenticity. The vibe inside is effortlessly cool. It's the kind of shop where you lose track of time because you're really digging through pieces and appreciating the details. The music, the layout, the energy -- it all adds to the experience. It feels like a true Detroit staple for anyone into fashion with personality. What makes it stand out is that you're not walking into a cookie-cutter retail store. You're finding pieces that no one else will have. When you step out in something from here, it's a statement. It's original. Now for me personally, the only challenge is fit -- and that's not on them. Because of my height and slim build (and the fact that I'm very particular about how my clothes fit), it can take some patience to find that perfect piece. Vintage sizing runs different, and I'm picky about tailoring and proportions. But when I do find something that fits exactly how I want? It feels like I struck gold. That's honestly part of the fun though -- the hunt. And Regeneration makes the hunt worth it. If you appreciate unique fashion, quality vintage, and pieces that actually stand out, this is the spot. I'll definitely keep coming back to see what new gems hit the racks.
